This changes nothing about the game, just the place where you can converse regarding it. You don't HAVE to join Discord, it is completely up to you. It will be the only monitored Forums for discussion though so if you wish to chat in an area where you can get answers from the team, you will need to try Discord out.
I know as much about what Discord does with your information as I do about Facebook, Google, these Forums, your Phone and pretty much any other place does with it. I assume they're all selling my details to someone and I don't really care. But as Discord is it's own thing, you can most certainly read their terms before you sign up and discuss with them even regarding what happens with your details. Kixeye has nothing to do with the details required to sign into Discord and this is not a conspiracy plot for anyone at Kixeye to steal your information.

This is an option in Discord server settings that is intended to prevent spam/phishing bots and ban evasion to a lesser extent. It's not related to Kixeye, and Kixeye does not get any information out of it. The only information Kixeye can obtain from your Discord profile is your username and the date you created your account. This setting also doesn't stop you from joining and viewing the server contents, it will just stop you from sending messages and sending direct messages to people through the server's user list.

The BP Discord isn't the one driving this dude's issue. It is Discord driving it. Go through the steps of creating a new account and the first thing it asks for is a phone number for 2FA.

Discord is a no for me. Not going to happen, not ever. So, if managing this game becomes untenable for me due to no Discord, that'll finally finish it. Thanks Kixeye.
