When are you going to sort the base-hitting bug?

Seriously, this is a farce that you can't reproduce it (or too lazy, because it's not costing you coin)

Don't expect players to do your work creating 'consule logs' of the events (especially if they're not tech-savvy to do that)

I refreshed before attempting to dump some cookies on my neighbour.

I launched a single hull, hit the base, went to join battle, & guess what happened?

The bug hit.

This is a total FARCE. I had to refresh the game, the join battle via the pop-up in base that advised my fleet was in battle, would I like to join? THAT got me into battle, but seriously, do you think folks want to do that all the time?

Extremely annoyed about this.

Haven't had this happen - could be your internet connection or your client that is causing the problem.

it is a royal pain in the ****, i could understand if i lagged or needed to refresh,  but it is so random and at the same time too prevalent. sometimes you load the game, go for a 1st fight and boom.
you keep whining like me but we are still here, i love broken pixels, how about you

Which is why it still exists. Kixeye is well aware that it is an issue, but there isn't a reliable and repeatable method to recreating it. Which is why we tell everyone to grab a console log if they can and send it in. One it shows them how prevalent the issue is, and two it gives them information on what is causing it. But as is, it seems totally random which makes it incredibly difficult to track down. Some times it happens on the first base you hit, sometimes it happens in the middle of a hitting spree, sometimes it doesn't happen at all. And as far as I can tell from my experience with trying to track it, I am not doing anything different on my end.

Nothing wrong with my browser nor internet connection.

Lucky you, it hasn't happened to you YET.

@Templar614 This has basically been an issue, as far as I can tell, since soon after the inception of HTML5. There's also the bug of watching combat in other bases whilst running Reaver Tide on your own, where you don't get to see a base hit, but get put back into your own base to watch the Reavers play Kamikaze. I suspect the 2 are related.

Whatever the issue is, it's deeply buried in the code.

It's a tad annoying if you're innocently trying to dump cookies but wind up auto'ing said base (ESPECIALLY if in your own sector, & how much of a crime that is lol)

If Kix were bothered about this glitch they'd set up a test server, check their own console logs and get it figured out. It's not like it's just started happening.  As this would cost them money I guess that's why they want us to do their work.

    Exactly.!

& I'm sure their systems that they 'play' on are far better than our own.

I think everyone has forgotten that we are the QA team.  We have been for 11 years or more as the QA team ship (if there ever was one) sailed long ago to another galaxy far far away.  I know they won't release the information to us but it'd be cool to know how many actual employees (not contractors) of Kixeye/Stillfront actually play this game.  I'm not sure how many but it's somewhere between a 4 pack of Fitz's root beer and a 12 pack of your favorite brew/spirit or perhaps less.  Why spend money to fix a problem in the coding if it doesn't always show its face to the team and they don't get coins from the dead fleet drivers?

This issue has happened/happens to me periodically. I have also sent in MULTIPLE console logs. This has been going on for some time. I have found refreshing the game every couple of base hits does seem to minimize the bug but  not eliminate it. Most of us are NOT programmers and have no clue how to fix an issue like this. My bet is it is related to the coding between the browser and the game-dont remember this issue being present when the game was Flash based. I could be wrong there though.
