So when this crew is on, the attacking fleet does not get the bonus of the crew they have attached at the time? Just the bonus from alliance stats/ vis gunners or defenders

    defender will only get the bonus from it not the attackers

    The point of the "only" there is that only the defending ships, not the turrets, get the advantage of the crew.  The advantage of the crew is to add 15% to evade and 30% to splash, but the turrets don't get that increase, only the defender ships do.  This crew has no direct effect on the attacking fleet.

    Correct, the attacking fleet does NOT get the bonus of a Grungy Gunners attached to your defense fleet.

    I don't think the question being asked is the one that people are reading? 

    I think what is being asked is:
    "Grungy Gunners says "Only defenders gain any benefit" Does this mean that attacking fleets do not get the benefits from using crews?"

    And the answer is no. Attackers still get to use whatever crew they want and will get to use whatever applicable stat buffs there are for the crew.
    Just means the effects of Grungy Gunners only apply to defender class ships during a base hit.

    If you are looking for extra Deflection that is now out dated as it will only apply to Badgers and Piranha .So this crew is kind of junk now like most crews till kix gets rid of the favored ship's in crews 
    think you forgot about players first

    Well no, it's not entirely junk, your defender fleet still gets improved Evade and Splash.  If you have any Badgers or Piranhas, you will get a (tiny) bit of additional deflection, but your defender fleet gets the additional splash and evade no matter what.

    And neither do much like I said if they got rid of the favored ship's in crew they would be better the game changes to fast for that to last long as 90% don't use Badgers or Piranha  no more

    You'd think that they would stop adding in the "favoured ships" as they dont last long enough to be "favoured", but what do I know.
