What is the purpose getting the jump ship by sacrificing our precious weekend and family time grinding 5 million points if i cannot use it because of the 10 captain permits?

What is the purpose getting the jump ship by sacrificing our precious weekend and family time grinding 5 million points if you can't read forum or better get info?
Change alliance, this is solution for you
Captain permits can be changed at anytime by leader so take turns the 10 permits are just a way of limiting the amount of javelins that can be used at any given time so a alliance can only have 10 out at a time
I’m the leader of my alliance have a javelin ship and do not know how to even get the permit. This is BS.
Look in Roster, choose alliance member and click on MANAGE, then click to tick Captain. But I agree that it is a pain to have to do this, whilst there is no longer the limit on numbers it then leaves us with the questio of why we have to do it? And remeber that if a player goes inactive we have to do it again as they lose Captain Permit if they go inactive.
