There's no thought put into the game anymore, other than Wrong Thinking. You can't use the new specials because there isn't enough base power to use just one, even after upgrading a warehouse. The Garrison fleets have been a disaster for the last year. We haven't had any land added to the game for many years and have been stuck in this little box for far too long. Upgrades take a year to finish. Damage is over the top. Many of the fleets are too slow to tolerate. Mods closing the threads for no reason. On the bright side...Nothing at all.
Iv been back 5 days after 5 years...having fun again, yes there can be lots to moan about especially as it's seems very limited towards said fleet for specific targets (don't like, would like to be creative with fleets again) but in these 5 days iv done ok kix given out lots of free fleets..ok mosty crap but I still managed to do the pillage event for free with what I had..if he is a returning player he would know its a waiting game, just have fun with what you got o and use your head a little in how you spend your time.
i long for the day when kix turns sector travel off to make trouble in the ranks mwahahaha

I believe im nearing the end of my time here. If that days comes. My playing time will be limited
I have a Ps4 pro with many games that i havent played because of BP. I started playing a few games awhile back and the true enjoyment im having is good.
Just waiting on the Ps5 pro and then i might call it for good.

But who wants to be twiddling their thumbs watching the big boys having ful, & watching your base get melted by some low-level coining alt account?
Like seriously, unless a new player throws some coin at the game, basically, that's what he'll be doing. A bunch of freebie fleets isn't going to get him into decent bases either.

But a "new player should not expect to be hitting high level bases so should not be needing a t11.5 hitting Fleet... a new player as u put it should be concentrating on other things tbh.
And so what if your base gets melted...you learn and adjust but at the end of the day.....its just pixels n a screen get over it! , if a new player is more worried about getting his base smashed then maybe the game isn't for them...I hear candycrush is a great game to pass the time while waiting for Dock to repair ..maybe!
We have all been smashed repeatedly as its part of the game, there will always be someone higher/better or someone with better fleets, people need to stop acting like they have to have it all and have it yesterday, so what if someone coins I believe it's there choice.
Just play your game your way and stop worry about what other may or may not have.
As for free fleets..Well thats still better than building said fleet In your shipyard is it not?

You're foregetting the coining alts. I know of one guy who has TWO alts he coins. Go figure how much he's propped Kix up by?
You're right in that a new player needs tech, etc, BUT, a new player doesn't kick off at L1 any more. It's now ore like L61 or something. Get a few free fleets, watch your base XP fly. Same with getting high-end tech out of the FM, watch the base XP fly. Got the new raid hull, weapon, special & all the engines, & built them? Heck, you'll be nudging L80 then
The 'free' fleets in the FM are a god-send for newbies. So was the stuff in the Beginners' Treasure Trove.
Yes, a player needs to work his defense 1st, then mess about getting base hitting stuff. At least with the 12h bounty bubbles, that's now much more viable.
But when you've got lesser fleets that only allow so much play, come raid time, you're going to be begging or coining a raid fleet. The game has become rather limited in scope also, no creativity, & NO time whatsoever for 'project' fleets, or stuff built for ****s & giggles.
Just because, my Punisher II fleet has a T9 Heavy Thrower on it (& the engine of that era) Does SSRBs for instant repair on auto. That thrower added over 50% damage output (& it's very tight on weight)
Just an example of toying with stuff.
This is the issue the OP has pointed out. You're locked into a certain build or 2, & if you don't go that way, your fleets will melt. weapons are locked to classes now, as is everything else, specials, engines, blah blah, even TARGETS are class-specific

yes i can remember when i would stay up for hours playing now its less than 20 minutes per day if any at all.you could mix and match things try new stuff but now you cant and it makes the game boring as heck.

Honestly, that's what I loved about the game, the outright creativity, if you had the tech.
20 minutes a day? I played another game last night, matches are 20 minutes long at most. There's teamwork, there's skill. Heck, I went on a baby-bashing spree last night haha
I have played from the start of BP and over the years I have noticed a serious difference in playing time. Years ago the sector mates would get together and attack another sector, hit bases and attack fleets. Chat was alive and personal messages were sent; good, bad, and disgruntled people who just received an hour and half fleet repair because some for no reason someone just decided to sink their fleet. (remember when your entire fleet took 1 1/2 hours to repair?)
Now I play for about 15 minutes before and after work, sometime again before bed. Whether I need to do a campaign or weekly missions I can make a good dent into them in 15 minutes of play and then 8 - 10 hours repair. (Go to work or sleep) Where we all used to have fun and play for a few hours a night the repair times have made those days disappear.
Kix has made tokens readily available and if the player keeps his ship builder either upgrading or building, the raids are doable for basically free.
My point is that years ago I could sit down and play for 3-4 hours, now I get on and do my target and hit repair and sign out.
