Once you realize what this game is about it becomes no fun anymore. This game is misnamed it should be called rapid, endless escalation for profit! Oh, I almost failed to mention that when you click things by accident it costs your coins, there is no protection to the consumer against errant clicks.

Things need to escalate so we have something new to do, how often do you play Monopoly?
And there is recourse for accidental spends, you just need to send a ticket and in most cases the team will assist you.

Generally it is a tricky conundrum, as evidenced by this very thread - when things swing to defense the attackers get upset that they cannot find a base to crack, when things swing to attack the defenders complain they cannot stop everyone. Thus why at the start of this PvP season we tried to get more varied content into players hands so there was more player driven oscillation. However that then upsets some players as they feeled compelled to have all of it immediately, or struggle with the expectation that something new should be effective in all situations.
As MillionDlrBil highlighted, we release new content to add new challenges and introduce new experiences to the game, just like any MMO. Without it the game would stagnate and players would be bored with grind. Certainly some players solve the challenges much faster than others, and if you feel like you're only just mastering something as it is changed perhaps it would be worth following some of the streamers who show optimal paths and builds?
As for accidental spend, we have some plans to move some UI around to reduce the incidence of this occuring, as well as showing confirmation popups when spending tokens on something significantly below the value of the token. I.e. if you accidentally use a 1d build token when you have 1hr left of build.
As an aside, with our £ plummeting downwards you might want to look at the cost of gold moving forward as it's suddenly getting even more expensive for the UK players. There's limits to what even whales can afford let alone the average coiners.
Well, the buttons simply exist to click, there's not a lot we can do about it if a player chooses to spam click and accidentally hits a button. Certainly there is no intention to trick players. As to ticket times, you will always get a reply and generally the response time is around 24-72hrs.
What would you like to see change in those activities to make them more enjoyable? Regarding quality control, we acknowledge there has been some slips lately and we are endeavouring to improve our process for future releases.
You may have noticed we've already increased the points payouts of the FM targets considerably to reduce the grind, as well as adding more challenging targets to reward the players who can solve the challenge they represent. We're looking at a range of ways to introduce more opportunities for players to earn points more rapidly.
BP PETER the comment you posted just shows how much you don't understand the players problems. |Yes, you increased the pay-out in the FM, but you also increased the price of the prizes armour now 500plus and cic,s 1million plus. You can only bury your heads in the sand for so long. As for a ticket response I've been waiting over 2 months now for raid point. i missed the deadline and on millions advice i put a ticket in and haven't heard a thing back. As for the redeem button players have been asking for years for it to be moved but again and again its ignored.
Not that I am happy with the build times as I rarely coin and with that maybe coin some repairs during raid, that is if I even have the ships for it.
If the very old days, you paid .25 + to play a game at the arcade, this is the same thing. Pay to play. Free can't pay the bills.
Coining fleets just to hit bases just so you can coin your repairs never sounded like fun to me. It's really stupid. You're just buying bubbles for the people you hit. There is absolutely nothing to gain from doing so. Especially when the base has no chance of winning. There is no balance in this game. Just power swings.
It's been pretty obvious since BP was launched that Kixeye was like every other corporation (for profit) in a capitalist "free" market - they want to make money. Thank you so much for your guidance towards this earth shattering insight! Is that what Enron is doing too? Who knew?! People developing products that people will buy lol genius.
The game is about lots of things. It's social, strategic, complex. It's fun, frustrating, addictive, challenging, a ridiculous waste of time, an outlet for people that need to tune out or escape or be entertained, all to various people to varying degrees at varying times. There's a strong body of legit research saying some decent things about video games benefiting certain regions of the brain.
When was grinding not a part of the game? Hours of grinding an ever increasing list of more and more complex and expensive "products". It is what it is. You obviously spent moeny on the product. Thank god you remembered to mention your inability to click the right things. Meanwhile, I've put in beaucoup tickets and they're usually fair. I didn't cash in my fm points once when I had to go be with my dad in the country, and they kindly threw me a lil sum sum. You wasted yours through sheer ineptitude, and feel entitled to compensation for your "errant clicks". Good luck with that.
As someone above also said, if you're out of the game for a period of time, for whatever reason, you're behind, & want to catch up, you have to coin
Kix makes no allowances for that.
People who have jobs that take them away from the game, like mariners or oil workers, this game isn't for them
I play another game where it doesn't matter if I've taken a 3 month break or not. & it's a SKILL game, not one where you can coin your fleet upgrades 1 day after bounty, & smash everyone.
Add that it always has a dailly log-in bonus, some which include in-game currency, & various other bonuses. Heck, if you accidentally, or drunkly sell a premium ship, they've got an insurance for that, send a ticket to CS, proving when you got it, they'll put it back into your account, unlike Kix.
@BP_Peter you might want to look at what other games offer, not like the player base here is what it used to be, you've basically got social players here, who play for the banter in comms, & coiners who are here for the ego.
& some who just LIKE the challenges of the targets.
This game used to have over 150k players.
Now? During a raid, 16k max.
The fact that your base is still being flattened should help explain which end of the meta you reside, perhaps that's something you can work on.

Heck, I've got tokens to build a Harlocks Ironclad, but have never been able to redeem the freaking hull as it's never been offered since I got those tokens (an account reset gift that was worthless)
As for DEFENSIVE content, it was stated there would be TWO Tier 11 Defender hulls way back when
What happened? You released a **** defender with rubbish range, that the upgrade pack basically makes it what it should've been in the 1st place as far as deflection values goes.
WHERE'S THE 2ND TIER 11 GUARD HULL?
I think some parts need to be boring - FM for example. Let players get their fleets built then let them be - changing targets every month is crazy, especially when those "designing" new FM targets could be focussed on other aspects of the game that need fixing/looking into.
Take this raid, 6 days, give it a day, (if you're lucky enough to have a semi built and upgraded fleet) you can hit the targets with little damage <30mins . Once there, you're just rerunning the same pathing etc etc a few dozen + times - so as you say boring.
And Kix can't keep creating new targets every other day to keep interest up, as they just dont have the manpower for that.
