    First of all welcome back!  Much has changed, Factions along with evolution of units (Special Forces - Gen I -> Gen II -> Gen III -> Gen IV -> Series I) and PVP.  Certainly focus on Series I units and log in daily as Kixeye will offer free Faction alignments (upgrades of base buildings and units) to make you more competitive.
