Of course it will change for the good, just not the good of the players.. I'm sure the new owners will want to see a profit asap, and will have novel ways to have you pay for it..
The purchase of KixEye happened last year and was in the works since June 2018. The new owners keep making promises they have yet to make good on; get rid of cheaters, still rampant cheating every were; clean up player names, still many offensive player and alliance names, nothing done; they messed up Pillage and Raid so one needs to pay to be able to get anything; there's more, but I'm not writing a book, you all get it. The game was bought to be converted into a phone/tablet app, but the graphics don't mesh. They have turned the game into a money machine for them with all the, now mandatory, upgrades needed for way too many ships. They have no intention of giving us another shipyard for upgrades &/or refits, they want us to pay for each ship that now takes a month or longer to fully build. They don't care about the players, they just want the money.

so what your saying is dad just handed the company over to the son and he learned what to do from dad....its making us coin son don't change a thing.......all you need to do is make up your own new excuses.....
Ten years. I started playing this game 10 years ago. It's funny, but the posts I'm reading right now are no different than many of the posts I've read over those last 10 years. This is a business to the owners. Certainly they want to make a profit. There's nothing complicated about it. The challenge for them though, is to find a way to generate revenue AND still maintain a loyal player base. To get there I imagine that they will make many small changes a little at a time. It's like twisting someone's are to get them to talk. You don't start out by breaking the arm. You bend it until they talk. Same thing here. I'll continue to play so long as I enjoy myself and I feel like it's worth whatever coins I do spend. When I no longer enjoy the game, or I feel that to enjoy the game requires more coins than I want to spend, I'll quit, not unlike most of you.
