ALWAYS LOOSE WHEN ATTACKED!!
I can't seem to get anywhere in this game!
Keep getting attacked and loosing resources.
By base is at level 96 (if that makes any difference).
Starting to think the ONLY way to get ahead in this game is to keep buying protection?!
Let me know if there is another option other than buying protection all the time...?

Some more information would be of help.?
What tier tech do you have as far as turrets (tier 6, 7 or 8--do you have HTs?) are concerned, & guard?
I have a mix of flak guns, sentinel missiles and rockets on my turrets.
Built my wall around base to level 10 (small part of wall to level 11).
Not certain what you mean by "HTs" guard "guard"?
HTs: Heavy Transformers allow you the ability to mount Heavy (turret) Weapons.
Guard: Guard fleet, that goes in slot 16.
Walls won't save you, in fact, I think they've helped kill you, by pushing your XP levels by building them (yes, you get XP for building walls) & pushed you well & truly into the "free-for-all" level.
Sorry to say, but.. Until you can start getting some decent (I mean Tier 8) defensive tech, things are going to remain being painful. & the only way to get that is via events like Raids, Bounty (which will be extremely rough for you) & Pillage
