Kixeye, I admire you all for what you are trying to do but you need to do one thing before you put these changes out. You need to test them. And not just by Kixeye employees in the test environment. You need to invite some of the top hitters and defenders in the game today. Then you need to let them play with these changes using there ships and bases for a few days. Have them try everything and see what this does. If it pushes the pendulum the opposite way to much, tweek it and let them play some more. Doing this will not solve all the issues of this release but at least it would be better than just throwing it out there and pissing off 75% of the players.
Oh they do indeed have a test server ... for a few privileged players from a few privileged alliances except in true Kix fashion, not all the top alliances are fortunate enough to be represented there. So a lot of the top hitters and defenders in the game have no input or preview into what Kix puts out. If ALL the top alliances had the opportunity to be represented on the test server, and everyone in there had the opportunity to discuss the effects of what they test, we might all be in a better position and not be subject to the old "oh now we have to fix our latest stuff up again".

for my 2 cents worth I can see where this could work to create choice on how flts are built but first Kix needs to release T7 turrets in other damage types [ witch they should have done in the first place instead of all Bal and Pen ] so that loading up on only 1or 2 deflection type armor's didn't become an option however at this point I wonder if the peeps making decisions are able to view long term
There is no bug and that excuse is a smoke screen to cover what is really happening.

I have screenshots of everything at this point. The turret states, the fire support, the ship deflections, the release dates, the event dates, etc. They released hulls with mega deflection followed by releasing turret sets to counter said ship deflections. Now a select few players are upset because as always, the defense of bases now out does any attacker. This is not the first time they have done bait and switch. This same exact thing and excuse was given when they nerfed fire support. This also is not the first time base defense favors the defender.
Since 2011 the tides always favor either base defense or the majority of the time it leans towards the attacker. There never ever has been balance in this game. I do laugh however when the select few players that are upset over these turrets were able to run around with endless fleets smashing base after base their were no complaints, and no one was sitting out events.
They are out of touch with this game and their customers. Sorry to burst some egoes, but the game is bigger than the players throwing the fit. I imagine like most organizations in this company the core of their profit comes from the middle tier players and not the so called whales of the game.
Yet, the core is ignored.
A company will begin to fail when they fail to listen to the core and cater to a few.
Real changes need to take place, real balance, this nerf will solve nothing and only drive more players to quit.
And will the deflections on the hulls will come down as well? Because heavily nerfing defense while doing nothing to the attacker will ensure the turrets do nothing.
Conclusion - again kix has tried to say there is a bug in order to pander to the minority. If our bases become undefendable, game is over for all who don't coin base defence or buy bubbles. If a base is always flat, builds will be perma-stalled - therefore, no way to keep up with crazy build schedules, therefore pointless playing -CRAZY!
I for one spend a considerable amount in the game, am I a whale, no I'm not a whale by any stretch of the imagination, but I will say this, if this trend continues, when the coins I currently have on my account are gone, I won't bother spending another coin, and chances are I will finally walk away from this fiasco of a game for good.

rebalanceing fix tobe released just before next bounty.....just great timing again ...advantage back to base hitters.....the claim of high end base hitters hitting each other is false.....the bigger pirate always hits the smaller pirate and down the line it goes...this is the way the game is....the fact that only the big guys have all the turrets leaves everyone else without and are currently open to hits without any adjustments....so is base hitting dead....hell no..its just not as easy.....addive bonus or not...the real problem is these power jumps and rush hot fixs that cause bigger problems....kixeye slowdown and stop over reacting for a few the the majority...

Why not balance the pvp instead of swinging it wildly in the other direction, and the only people that this will effect are those that played bounty to get the turrets needed to counter the newest hulls. So now that it seems unfair because people who decided to play bounty and get the new tech are few and the mASSes do not have there is a problem? If they would have participated then they would be fine. What I want to know is when this change goes down when do I get back my money for the repairs and refits for these items now that they will be changed months after the fact?
I guess bases aren't supposed to be able to defend against the top ships of the line. This is going to turn back into a "just click and forget" fest as for as base attacks go. Going right back to logging in and finding your base flat as f*** no matter what type of defense you have in there. I was actually starting to enjoy the game again since I wasn't having to repair my crap every single day.

We know that the coin flows from base attackers. So if they get upset, they stop attacking and stop coining. Not much coin is spent on base repairs, so who cares if they get their bases smashed up. So we, as a company, must cater to the attackers to keep the coins flowing.

The farms who depend on the turrets to make their base " safe " are going to be biatching till they are blue in the face. They do not understand that yes, the turrets are bugged and are not healthy for the PvP environment cause GASP, if you have everything you cannot be beat. end of story.

I do not hit a lot of bases, even when I have a steamroller fleet, but even I can see that peeking a base and saying.. OOPPs he has X of these turrets and Y of those with fire support.. gotta go elsewhere, cause no tech in the game can beat that, is not fun.
Every single fleet that has came out, the players found a way to kill them in their base. Sometimes it took a specific set of tech to do it, others it was old tech. Going all the way back to the start of the game, attackers had the advantage till the defenders figured out how to beat it, and we adapted. There is no way to beat a fully kitted out with turrets and fire supported base. Nobody has made it past my first turn in going on 2 mths now. That is not good. Anyone griping about it, doesnt understand the game.
The turrets are too strong now. This is a fact. Cannot dispute it. The only thing you can dispute is, does this fix swing too far in the other direction..
Short term answer, prob so. Cause the attacker only has to worry about 2 damage types. Long run, prob not.

Give a 3-4 month notice and get rid of the deflection stats completely, re-balancing the weapons. Else the game will be from the attacker to the defender and visa versa with no strategy, no fun and finally no people to play.
Kix you have not heard ANYTHING either that ***insult removed*** NO ONE want a I WIN hull that will flaten anything and everything. NO ONE wants that. We want out NEW turrets to do 2K damage AFTER all the resistance and deflection. WE DO NOT want Instant kill turrets nor instant kill ships.

It is not that freaking hard to keep things in the middle. a freaking MONKEY could do that yet here we are after 15 poser swings and GD team is too stupid to figure out haw to do it. I agree, and the new turrets must be 130 range or better, got a crap load of turrets at 105 range which are friggin useless.
Simply put this PVP mess was supposed to be looked into and BALANCED ….with the upcoming changes it wont happen, find another solution there have been several good options presented, and get it BALANCED as promiced. If the proposed changes go thru it will only result in more players quitting the game.
