Did anyone else around here except for Blazing_Darkness play TOME?
Or did you like I did and play one match before promptly abandoning the game.
I played one match and abandoned it. It looked decent but apparently it didn't like my computer and/or internet, I had massive delay issues.

What about Tome: Immortal Arena? Oh wait :( Dammit, now I have depression.

I mean, I just randomly thought of Tome and decided to check back in. Still dead, I played it regularly beforehand when it was browser based.  Then they permanently shifted it over to steam, ;.;.  Not to mention added a 5v5 map which none of the characters were designed for, and instead of making this interesting 3v3 game they shoe-horned it into looking like every other thing.

I use to be the top no 1 Robin (They reset the scoreboard after the 5v5 and steam introduction, not many people played her, thank god), I remember one of the small streamers playing Talia? Played it a lot, he was the top one for it and they had soooo many games compared to no.1 spot Robin cause no one played her. XD. Then they nerfed Robin, and I cried. Honestly looking back on this and all the characters it honestly makes me sad. It had so much potential to be unique. :/

And I swear I remember your user name Blazing, probably just played with you quite often it was a very close-knit community whilst it was browser based and alive. :/
I assume the Talia player you're refering to was Loki_Hekate?
The shifting the game from browser to steam is what stopped a lot of people I knew from playing the game since they had access to the browser version during breaks at work or school etc but not steam.
Unfortunately from what I remember Kixeye were forced to make that move due to a browser feature the game relied upon was recently marked as no longer supported and may soon be removed.

Robin was rather powerful in very different ways to most other guardians which meant most people couldn't or didn't figure out how to play her. I think that is why she was almost never picked. The same could be said for Erebus.

The 5v5 map was fun but it snowballed too much due to the buffs. You're definitely right about the guardians not being designed for the 5v5 map. The big wombo combo with Khar, Krugas, Azura (plus any 2 from Serafine, Cyrus, Tritus, Talia) ultimate abilities with enough damage to instantly wipe out a team and enough CC to keep the entire team stunned for several seconds was a bit ridiculous.

My ign was Blaze btw. Originally a Osric only player back when you needed a key to get into closed beta before switching over to Malbus and sometimes Fathom. I really liked playing Erebus until he was removed and then later on played Talia (if someone else didn't) when she was added to the game because she was overpowered and destroyed any melee guardians in lane which meant the meta slowly turned into double/triple range teams towards the end of closed beta. Sitting in top lane and getting cross map snipes  every other match was great fun though.
After the first reset and the game moved to open beta (I assume this is when you started playing?), Talia received very huge nerfs (she needed them) so I played a lot of Nyri, Fathom, and Jin and carried due to most new players picked melee slayers and didn't know how to counter them.
Playing Jin mirror matches a good amount vs Gripex ended up with him inviting me to play on his team during streams (to which I thank Bobby Dash for suggesting that to him) which meant me picking tank (Fathom) to support his Jin. Then when I started playing a lot with Loki I became a Fathom only player for a long time. Then a second reset occurred when the game moved to steam and lots of people quit soon after.

Back in closed beta there was a player called Spudgy that had over 100 matches as Osric and a 100% win rate.

As I said in my first comment in the discussion, anyone who liked Tome Immortal Arena will mostly likely like Battlerite. Battlerite is more focused on fighting and has a much larger skill curve.
TOME Name: Blaze    Favourite Guardians: Osric (Pusher), Malbus (Tank), Talia (Slayer), Erebus (Tactician)

I played TOME quite a bit when it was out, it was a pretty fun game but there weren't many players.
I haven't even set my foot in TOME. I may not even start to play another kixeye game (WC: Rogue Assault) mainly because of limited time to play. I want to stay competitive in at least 1 game and 2 is near impossible.

I tried it for a couple matches. But I could never really used the game and decided MOBA's aren't really my thing and wandered off.

I have never played it. I think there is a reason why kixeye had to abandon it.
It can be a bit risky for a company to make games completely different compared to what the "fans" are used to. Some companies have been successful and some have have failed.

Styx: Master of Shadows is a great game if your into absolutely brutal hardcore stealth games. (So hyped for the sequel.)
I also got a pretty good recommendation from Ralle recently for a game called Aragami, and whilst I haven't played it much, I l already love it.
The concept is great, visuals are stunning, and story and gameplay are solid as stone. Another fantastic stealth game.
If you love stealth games, you need to give Dishonored a try if you haven't already.
I was thinking of doing that, but I went for Aragami instead. Next time Dishonoured roles around in the sales I'll pick it up and give it a go. You ever played it Yard? If so, thoughts?
I've completed the main game and one of the DLCs. It's a really fun game with replay value as you can take different approaches, and the powers you get can be fun to play with. The story isn't bad either.
Im gonna shamelessly bump this thread to say, thank you Yard for recommending Dishonoured to me.
I got it a few months ago, and I've had a right blast playing through it so many times. The number of approaches you can take and all the powers are fantastic, and the devs attention to detail is incredible. Already one of my favourite games of all time. Thanks Yard.

Since I've shamelessly dragged this thread up from its grave, I say why not try keep the conversation going.
Anyone got some new games to recommend?

It's a commonly known one, but the Dark Souls series. I started with Dark Souls 2 (which is admittedly an odd choice) and it's difficult but so rewarding when you finally clear an area or boss.

I do mostly play games on console which means Steam is not the main place I play games in. However, I have played some of the games in the Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War series which should be available on steam. However, I do usually play this game when I feel for it or if the internet is lacking.

Yeah, I thought it looked fairly decent as well. The presentation was quite good, I'll give it that.
Did you ever figure out why you had delay issues? Or was it just some random thing that was unexplainable?

I didn't persist, to be honest. Figured the game was either too poorly optimised or my computer was too old to run it properly. MOBAs have never been my thing anyway, I was mostly just curious.

Yeah it was the same for me. I suppose it was for the best that none of us seemed to persist, considering how quickly the game met its end it saved us investing alot of time which would have been meaningless.

I remember when I was hyped for TOME, even though it died quickly.

As for my Steam library, there are a good amount of games I recommend having.

PAYDAY 2 - Excellent if you like shooters with a mix of stealth. You can decide if you wanna rob a bank with cunning and stealth, or go in with gusto and beat the stuffing out of the law while making lots of cash. This game is a personal favorite of mine, and the Ultimate Edition is well worth the price tag. =3

Star Wars: Empire At War - This classic has been given new life with an update that gave it mod support and a returning multiplayer feature for it. Fight as the Empire or the Rebellion for control of the galaxy with fighters, frigates, MC80 Cruisers, or fearsome Imperial Star Destroyers. Of the mods in the game, my favorites have to be the Thrawn's Revenge mod and the Republic At War mod. Definitely worth a pickup.

Homeworld Remastered Collection - If you're a fan of the Homeworld games, the Remastered Collection is right up your alley. The whole game was completely reworked with better graphics, better sounds, and a multitude of fixes of bugs that plagued the older systems of the classics. And speaking of, you also get the classic games when you pick this up. I haven't been as active on multiplayer, but I love the skirmish battles I have on the Complex mod for HW2 Classic. A fun game to have.

Garry's Mod - There aren't enough words to say how much I love this sandbox game. In fact, I still think this is THE ultimate sandbox game. =3 There's no shortage of things to do in the game. The mind's really the limit on what you can do, including make posters, animations characters doing whatever, or the very frequently screwing around in the game. And to add to it, there's a seemingly endless amount of content you can pick up from the Workshop. Mayhem for everybody! :p

There are more, but I think I'mma get off my soapbox. :D
