Probably for years to come. Flash has been hacked so many times, and it won't officially die for another 3 years.

Probably. They've been losing money year on year and all their side projects seem to have crumbled.

Yeah. I think their trying to follow in the footstops of Google and emulate their success in basically all the things. Like you said though, it hasn't really worked out. This mega-breach certainly won't inspire confidence in people to use their services.
Here, interesting hypothetical question. If a breach of this scale were to strike Google, how badly do you think it would hurt them?

Badly, obviously, but I think Google would have the means to manage the fallout better. They've got a very good brand image, and frankly I wouldn't expect Google to have such security issues on the first place. Perhaps it would be worse if only because Google has more users so more would be affected.

Indeed. I do believe Google have been taking a close look at security for awhile now. In fact awhile ago they even worked to produce a crack for SHA-1 to prove something they said about it being vulnerable right. So its clear their taking a good look at security, and they've made various moves from warning users in chrome about websites without HTTPS encryption and introducing Play Protect for the Google Play Store, so like you said, their alot less likely to have these issues.

Still, in a somewhat terrifying way it would be quite interesting to watch any ramifications of a hack of this scale on Google wouldn't it? FYI, if you're interested in reading about how Google managed to successfully and essentially break SHA-1, they have a blog post here about it. Fascinating stuff if you like reading about cyber-security to see whats going down.
