What is the Best Base Level to have

Hello all - New Player here with a question on what base level is best to have. I noticed that PVP base gating stops at base level 65. So a level 65 base can be attacked by fleet level 60 all the way to lvl 100.

My question is this: Is it therefore the best strategy to keep your base lvl 64 and below? That way you cannot be attacked by a level 100 fleet. But if you keep your base as low level as possible, it opens the doors for more players to have access to attack you.

So bottom line: Is it better to push your base XP level as high as possible, or better to keep your base XP level as low as possible? Or is base level 64 what you should shoot for?

Could you please also explain the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Thx in advance, those who answer.

Just try to make the strongest sub-65 base possible.  Since exterm sniper fleets are the current meta, use long-range guns on your CMs like storm, gemini,  arc missile etc.   Don't ever equip the new base turrets - shatter, cluster, disintigrator or rupture since they add too much XP.  Also limit the amount of armor on modules.  Only armor important modules like Bridge, CMs and possibly ship factory, and don't max out armor.  Storages and miners should have shields but no armor.

no competition -65. I've got 200 noobs with punishers ramming their ships into my mines each day trying to get my bridge. Win or lose, my bridge hasn't been fully repaired in a week now, and it is currently being refit. I wasn't trying to go over 65, but it happened one random afternoon and I have not had any rest since.

Thanks to both posters for the info.

With the power creep and intro of new Blue Prints, it does look like it is going to become increasingly difficult for players to remain under base level 65.

Stick to sub-64. Vectors are a really good replacement for storm drivers as they cannot miss and have very low XP. I have 5 vectors, 3 storm drivers and the rest Gemini drivers and am only level 63 despite almost all of my CMs having 2x tal3 1x htal 2.

    Great info everyone.

Cyrus, your post is informative but I have no access to some of the tech you mention.  This points out a serious problem with Vega Conflict.

One of the major problems I have with Kixeye is how limited it is to acquire key technology in Vega Conflict.  Veterans will always have the advantage over newer players because they were in the right place at the right time and gathered key tech that is simply not offered to harvest.

The game needs to be fair to all who play. All tech should be harvestable by anyone willing to put in the time. Make the grind as difficult as you like, Kixeye, and use events to make the grind easier -- But -- just make it possible.

To withhold key tech acquisition from some of the playerbase is simply unfair.

Veterans were once in the same spot you find yourself in now.  The difference being they stuck it out (for years sometimes) and picked up the elusive techs when they came back around.  You're asking for the get-end-game-quick shortcut, and it would be unfair to veteran players if kix gave that to you.

I would of said say Level 25 or 35 at a time, but fairly certain that has changed really.

Know 45 should be closer off say on those terms, but again, we rebalance and level adjusts might not quite be the same, may be more like a 22, 31, 39 worth for an equal difference of the samething.

I hoping Base Level 55 will be a good one honestly, but hard telling. Fairly certain 3 Xeno Destroyers will be most common at that range.

As for upper regards, maybe least 71 if possible??

    Thanks,

What I'm asking for would be the same playing field for all players. Why do players have to wait years and do without certain key tech?  Are newer players or players that missed a key couple of days really considered less important players?

I'm not asking to be given anything except everyone have equal access to farm. Obviously if you farmed for it first, you should have it first.  Instead, it is a different game for different players but in the same battle arena.

Taking that tech away from the game is like a boxer in a street fight that is forced to play by "ring rules" while the street fighter can fight however he wants.

It is hardly fair that only some players have access to certain key tech or upgrades just because they were present at the small window of time it was offered.

Consider this:  Player "A' played VC for 7000 hours and player "B" only played it for 1000 hours: If player "A" couldn't be present during a small window of opportunity to farm some key tech BP's or mark ups that player "B" got - how is that fair to player "A".  How is that good for the game as a whole?

I made a thread talking about this in general discussion because this topic isn't really the nature of this post here.

If there was more content in terms of Tech and/or Ships, I think even for new players they could still move along keep up to the current stuff even if for fewer or lesser things and still be able to make an "impact" into the game, since even some of the "older/higher level" players wouldn't have everything still perhaps to a better chance than not, than say just more of something instead.

Also, when Tech comes up to get that hasn't for awhile, can still be worth a difference or not almost as normal but not quite, since time to get Tech is about as relevant than still say having it for what Tech that left to get still anyways. Especially when taking Leveling up to gain from in acquiring Tech as time goes on.

Be nice if perhaps could still drop Tech to a point like taking things from your base and still have the "debt" experience work out until you pass it at least or an update, whichever happens first of course perhaps, but still.

But for what was said is a good point though rather with what I say to it or not.

    Thanks,

My base is lvl 52. Have had multiple people try to take it with xeno shatter exterminators, with the best so far only managing 30% damage from 2 hits and leaving with 2 dead exterminators. Brute force wont take it. But a half decent pilot with an old school lance/tank fleet will have a great time

you just told us all your base is as weak as piss, only reason your 62 is all those storms other wise it would be 56 maybe lower...................terrible just terrible. if you want a sub 64 base do not use storms or high xp valued guns...........like w/e said above vector and geminis LOL

I think base level 0 is always a possibility.
    Just kidding XD

The best is around level 55-60 because then Elite Xeno Destroyers can't attack you. You also can't go down levels so if you are above this range, I truly feel bad for you. The best way to keep it low is using Gemini, has around 20 DPS less than Storm Driver, and it has 1/3 or so of the XP. Also Sico would help but maybe only on your bridge and 2 Combat Modules other than that.

Build your base layout to the max size new updates are coming soon for the bases. I'm at 67 now maxing out all my modules. I don't have any minding modules now because they don't have the resource capability for the new tech. I farm 55 fleets for resources plus the event always has resources to earn. Kixeye has new tech support for the bases now and more coming
