Actually BYM is quite playable. Ironically more so that KIXEYE's current games. BYM ended in a better state that most of KIXEYE's current projects are in right now. Strange how that works, isn't it?
I don't know if I play it, but I check in on rare occasions to see if my yard has been reset or not.
I do more or less the same these days. My yard (can be seen here if anyone cares) is more or less completely maxed out and there's nothing left for me to do with it, so I just log in to keep it intact and hopefully stave off any attempts by KIXEYE to reset it. Plus naturally the vast majority of the community has moved on and left the game, so its not like there's anyone to fight for outposts, map territory, etc. That and the Alliance's Feature has completely crumbled as well, not working at all.
My own sector or world map or whatever their called these days seems devoid of anyone as well, though according to my attack logs I think there might be 1 or 2 folk left aside from just me. Long story short, Im hardly "playing" either. I know that aside from my own map there is seemingly a small cluster of players left from what I can tell on those odd days I tried out Facebook's "Game room" program with its chat function. But aside from that, there's basically nothing and no one left.

Support was canned shortly after the game work on the game ceased. Sorry, but KIXEYE don't care about us.

I'm surprised that kixeye didn't shut down the servers altogether.

I would guess that the population of Backyard Monsters players at this time is near 0 which means the amount of complains will not be that big as it could be.

I think its one of the few good moves they've made for the players as of late. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if behind the scenes they were praying to keep the flow of money from this game, no matter how small, coming in from BYM. It is the only good game they have in their catalogue of games at this point. There's probably some folk left spending cash on it.

I'm not to sure about that statement. The players that do play that game will be maxed sooner or later doesn't matter what because there is no new content added into that game. I think it's only the most hardcore BYM players that actually play that game on a regular basis.

It's highly likely that the game will be even more dead in 1 or 2 years. There is no point for kixeye to keep updating it when they had dropped support for it once.
I would play, but my yard is glitched, so its REALLY too bad there is no support. Annoyed I just spent a couple hours trying to figure out why I couldnt get through to kixeye about it. Wish we could hit a Reset button & start over.
I keep playing BYM casually .. I can not deny that without news, bugs and a small community that the game is uninteresting. But this can easily be solved, just fix existing bugs, give as little support as possible to the game just enough to work properly, bring news and do marketing to increase the community. the game could be redone on android as virtually everyone has a smarthphone today. I have a dream, and is to play this reworked game again.
I still play, the game still works. I am recruiting the remaining active players into my alliance - Genesis One .
You realise if you recruit any remaining active players into your alliance you'll have no one left to fight right? That is unless upon securing whoever remains, you want to incite a civil war lol.
