About once a week I see a thread emerge about how the Fury Drones are not moving as expected (I actually thought this myself when I first started using them). But, their AI is perfect and actually really useful. Here is a brief summary:
AG Drone Movement:
- General Movement - When you click on the ground, the Fury moves in front of the AG Drones; the AG Drones follow behind.
- Ground Target - When you click on a ground target, the AG Drones move in front of the Furies; the AG Drones DO attack the ground target first then the Furies attack the ground target.
- Air Target - When you click on an airborne target, the AG Drones lag behind the Furies; the AG Drones DO NOT attack the airborne target; the Furies do attack the airborne target.
AA Drone Movement:
- General Movement - When you click on the ground, the Fury moves in front of the AA Drones; the AA Drones follow behind.
- Ground Target - When you click on a ground target, the AA Drones lag behind the Furies; the AA Drones DO NOT attack the ground target; the Furies do attack the ground target.
- Air Target - When you click on an airborne target, the AA Drones move in front of the Furies; the AA drones DO attack the airborne target first then the Furies attack the airborne target.
Tips:
- To attack an airborne target when AG drones are equipped, click on a ground target near the airborne target; this will allow the Furies to move into attack range (for the airborne target) while keeping the AG drones in front of the Furies.
- To instantly refresh your drones, retreat all your Furies and respawn. The drones will respawn as well.
Hope this helps.

tip #1 is what I've been using during the previous event.. it was hard at first, but with enough practice, I managed to get the timing of the main unit & the drone movement 90% right..
I would also recommend mixing a few of AA with AG just in case you didn't find the right target nearby.
No problem.
