As a UKer, I'm so glad I don't have to deal with them.
You must live in a very lucky part of the UK Yard. Where I live, whilst I haven't had to put up with the bloody pests in awhiles I still had to deal with them.

South West. Never seen a mosquito.
Again, lucky you. Like I've said before, I live more in the general south and used to encounter mosquitoes alot. Though like I said before, its been quite awhiles since I've seen those parasitic little pests. Definitely glad for that.

I think it has more to do with where you live. Mosquitoes can usually be found near swamps.
As I don't speak English, I don't know the exact terms but that is because where the larva can be found.
6 years ago I went to China for a summer vacation, and the amount of mosquitoes there was simply unbelievable. If I left the windows of my hotel room open for the afternoon, by the time I went off to bed there would be a massive swarm of mosquitoes just hanging around near the ceiling. If you don't bring any bug spray when you vacation in China, you're gonna have a bad vacation.
You know one time I got bit by mosquito not too far beneath my left eye. Waiting for the swelling to go down was such a pain, makes me so glad they no longer seem to show up where I live.

There are much worse places to get bit by a skeeter. Trust me.
I live in a swampy environment so dealing with a few hundred mosquitoes per day during the warmer months is a fact of life. I just live with it.
You said you live in the US right DreamCat? Where roughly do you live that results in you dealing with a swamp-like environment if you don't mind me asking? Also, maybe its just cause you deal with them on a regular basis but how do you just "live" with it?

I can imagine, but even just getting bitten not too far beneath the eye is an awful experience. I suppose I should be lucky it wasn't too close to my eye else it may well have swollen near completely shut.

I live on the Gulf Coast. There are as many swamps as there are beaches down here.
I don't like those giant ones. Every Fall, they always camp near my door and sometimes, I'm just too afraid to get inside my house without screaming at the big mosquitoes with their giant legs and giant wings.
Corrosive Dragons are green.
Corrosive Dragons are acidic.
AncientViper is immune to acidic materials and poison.
The new season is almost upon us!
