I think my base is still the same. However, I got into kixeye games through WC which means my BYM base is not that well developed for combat.

No worries, it's not like I still play. The only slight annoyance is that I can't see what design I was running when I did still play.

Eh, I don't play too much anymore, but I'd be pissed as hell if my base was gone and I didn't have a record of it in some form.
That's why I have that screenshot still. Always have a record, of both my base and BYM's glory days.
(Plus it makes a nice background for my PC.)

    One of my earliest:

    Ditto:

After I got better at designing:

Probably my most effective yard in the lead-up to the last update:

Me showing off with the yard planner:

    Another decent yard:

My most effective yard of all time was right after flying monsters were added but before aerial defence towers were added. Sadly I never snapped a pic of it. It had great air coverage considering the balance of the game at the time, and then the update that added ADTs made it useless two weeks later. That was the only yard I ever made that I honestly considered "up there" even by the standards on this forum, and I never even saved it.

I like your overall base style Yard. It seems a bit artistic in a ways with somewhat intricate and well laid out designs, but at the same quite practical, what with them appearing to be designed for baiting the monster AI into traps and whatnot.
Are you like me a bit of a stickler for making your bases symmetrical? I noticed that all your designs (save for the Yard one) are mirrored lol.

I most definitely am a stickler for symmetry. And thank you! I generally tried making them both effective and nice to look at - the first two with gold bricks didn't really manage either lol, but to be fair I made one of those before joining the forums and the other shortly after. Pathing (using walls to shape the monster AI paths) is incorporated into all of the others - the last one even plays with the way rocket-upgraded DAVEs move in a really cool way. The Yard one was just a bit of fun signing my name and organising my buildings between designs, I believe.

Bonus fun fact: the fully upgraded hatcheries (with the red tops) can be used to hide cannon towers behind them, and are doing so in yard #3. It's crazy how much effort and how many concepts went into designing a good yard. I had a massive guide about it (over 10K words in total!) on the old BYM forums. For the first time I'm truly gutted that the BYM forums are down, since I wish I could have copied it over in some way - though the game might be inactive today, that's a testament to a lot of hard work and learning.

Yeah I tried ensuring my base was also relatively nice to look at, but also as practical as possibly. Whilst maybe not necessarily as outwards as yours is, Im sure you can see the points in my base where I too am working towards baiting to an untimely demise. I took alot of pride in that base.
Sidenote: Nice to see Im alone in the symmetry thing. I thought I might be an odd one out or something lol. I dunno why Im so insistent on ensuring my design is symmetrical, but I always can't help but obsess over it.

Fun Fact: Whilst I do think I have changed it somewhat to make it alot more my own, the design I currently have was actually adapted from another design I found online. Previously my yard was a bit more, quadrant-like, I think you would call it. It was definetly a bit more box like at any rate, but for whatever reason I changed it. I like to think the new design is alot more imposing. You can really see everything in the base.

I like to think that it would give any would invader a good sense of scale of what their looking at, and really make them think twice, compared to the old. If I get time I'll post a pic of the previous layout. I still have it saved in my Yard Planner for the heck of it. I've been so pleased and proud of my current base design I've never changed it since creating it a year or so ago.

Yeah, signing work is always fun. I wish I had a practical way of signing my work with my base design.
Until I can think of something, both my twin Black Diamond Spurtz Cannons and Wild Monster Invasion II Trophy with the 4 dead Finks surrounding it will have to be my signature. Thane_Mantis was here lol.

****, that is both one heck of an achievement and one sad loss. This again is why I absolutely hate the fact KIXEYE deleted the BYM Forums. The history man. I bet it was one of the richest forum threads to be seen around here. And I thought I wrote crazy long threads lol.

I really wish KIXEYE would just let us have the BYM Forums back. I wouldn't mind if they locked them all just to prevent people from posting on them, I just wish they would let us have them back.
Any idea what that base guides thread name might have been Yard? Just out of curiosity. And when it was posted?

Funnily enough "quandrant" was a style of base on here I'm fairly sure. There was a lot of lingo and abbreviations for different designs and strategies. I feel like I've forgotten half of it by now.

I'm sad I never got the black towers, the only reason was the events we could get them in always lagged me to hell in the last wave or two. Gutting. Sidenote: were you around for the old Halloween event with the nuke? We got a free DAVE pumpkin then which was pretty cool.

It was by far the longest BYM guide. It took me like 4 posts to write it all because I kept reaching the word limit, and the guide needed its own table of contents, lol. It took me quite a while to complete, but it was worth it, I think it helped a lot of people while it was up. I enjoyed writing guides, it forces you to really look into all the known techniques and even do your own research, which helps you learn too. I remember once my friend let me borrow his FB account just to test something in BYM. Then, as per my luck with BYM updates, they changed the game and made my findings irrelevant a few weeks later (If you're curious, I was testing the actual range of towers in blocks - before they added the range circles - to see if they were the same as the visible statistics. They weren't).

I might ask a CM or someone to copy-paste it for me at some point, since they still have access to those forums.

I never actually technically got the Black Diamond Spurts Cannon either. I got them after a glitch occurred and it never really went away.
If memory serves me well, I only ever actually had 1 plain Spurtz Cannon. I think I might have been working towards them in the last event, Hell Raisers but couldn't do it because Moloch's bases were too tough at the time.

Anyways, I would have informed KIXEYE of the glitch, however by the point when it occurred the game was already dead and support gone. Unrelated to this issue, my Korath had sadly and annoyingly lost his Breath of Fire special ability which meant he could no longer shoot down flying monsters.
So I figured it was fair I keep the Cannons.

Also no, I don't think I was ever around for the Halloween events, much as I'd have liked to have been. I would have liked to have added those pumpkins to my base decorations. I'd probably have them arranged around my Wild Monster Invasion II trophy.

Very impressive. If you were still playing War Commander, I would have recommended you jump onto the wikia. I reckon Troy would appreciated your help alot. He busts a hell of a gut trying to keep the wikia up to date. A task hindered alot by the fact KIXEYE insists on practically crushing the players under the weight of all the content put into the game.

Tell ya what, it kinda reminds me of the work I put into a compiling a list of all bugs found in War Commander.
Whilst I've long stopped updating it after a year or working on it (I started in November 2015 if I recall correctly) I also had to split it into multiple posts cause I was also reaching character limits.

I actually host the list on my WC-Wikia Blog page. At one point I reformatted the entire thing from top to bottom with a proper table and far more dedicated sections, and better colour co-ordination so it was more clear what bugs were fixed and which weren't. Took weeks due to how long the list was. List had a total of 150+ bugs if I recall correctly, though its possible the number may have pushed close to 200, at last count. Absolute madness maintaining that list was.

I feel like kixeye should priorities more time into making features work properly and fix all those bugs in game.

It's off topic but you should add the multi radio tower stelath detection bug to the list which I did report to kixeye in October. https://www.kixeye.com/forum/discussion/666527

If you destroy a radio tower in any base with more than 1 radio tower. There is a chance that the stealth detection ability won't work for the remaining radio towers.

It's one of the bugs that shows why kixeye should never have more than 1 radio tower in a base. Kixeye don't listen and that bug is free to get abused without even making the player noticing it.
It took a long time to find out a decent chuck of information about that bug. The first time was from a BFG X base when I took out 2 radio tower and then got stealth on my Deena but sometimes my Deena wouldn't reclock after getting detected. I had no advanced scout to see radio tower levels back then to help me.

I was planning to play WC:RA, but apparently my phone's version of Android isn't good enough. I used to help out on the BYM and BP wikis, not fanatically though. I remember you talking about that bug thread. Do you read the changelogs to see ones that have been fixed? If not, how do you update it?

Well when I was working on it I would just read the update notes. Then I would go into my list, change the option from fixed to Yes, and change the background of the box the option was in to a corresponding colour in the source code. Clear and easy to look at.

It's probably going to sound stupid, but I kind of miss doing stuff like this for games (guides, bug lists, etc.). It was something to do in between other stuff and it was nice being involved with the community through it.

Yeah I can understand ya there man. When I took like a 2 month hiatus from the WC Forums after KIXEYE banned my second account for most idiotic of reasons that I don't even remember, I sorta missed jumping into conversations to throw up some advice or just correct a minor mistake to help someone on their way.

Same time though I didn't miss it too much personally cause there were some questions about the most incredibly basic things, some being asked by very high level players, which were so ridiculous I couldn't help but wonder how some people made it anywhere in the game at all.
Im very much back into the community and doing all that again though. For example, my newest FAQ (seen here) which is also the 4th one total that I've written, has been received well, and Im hoping/certain, it has provided a decent amount of info for the community. Its quite satisfying to see my work doing a bit of good.

Just went back and looked at my base via FB for the first time in along while.
    Its still intact!
Other than the lack of opponents, the game seems pretty well fully functional.

Yeah, the game remains pretty well functional overall. There is the odd bug, like if you look at my base layout here, you can actually I have several billion resources in my banks. (I've been trying to empty them but it ain't possible lol.)

There's also Krallen who's officially unattainable sadly. Other than that and a few other minor bugs, the game remains as solid as its ever been.#
The game does still have a community as well. If you've ever used the FB Gameroom there's a chatbox connecting all the players, and some people are still speaking the last time I checked.

As far as I can tell however, their like me, upset the game is gone and all that. But a community is still here.

Not a bad layout man. Its cool to see your base also survived the purge.
How well did it hold up practically against attacks?
Sidenote: Lol, ya still got 380 Shiny. Should buy a couple more decorations or something man.

IIRC, it was optimized for aerial attacks, as they were all the rage (pun intended) when I stopped playing.
It did decent against ground as well.

And my base seems to have been quietly picking up res. Those are billions, not millions.

When did you stop playing man, and how come you stopped as well?
Also, between when you stopped in just recently to check your base, how long had it been since you had logged into the game?
