    KIXEYE approves.

P.S. I wonder how many fleets he lost?

Also, probably worth mentioning is the fact that the alien ships actually do move, albeit only at 5 to 10 m/s.

Also, I've seen a great deal of badly damaged unknown fleets, and every single one of them was green. However, they do pulse that color every two seconds or so, much like how vsec pulses with a red aura. I think its just a graphical indication of the fact that they are actively searching and are ready to attack anything that gets too close.

    Took my humanity

    But gave me that green

Pythons go alright btw - pop a 'carrier' timer down and recharge shields between fights

I think that by now it's obvious what damage type they are:  A LOT

Okay, it seems theyve changed this. Alien fleets no longer show up as green 8 sided diamond shapes, but as just a green fog emanating from a single point. They will change to the yellow diamond shape pictured, but I'm not sure why. I have seen them change this color immediately after a battle in which they took damage, but I have seen them change from a yellow diamond before a second battle to a green diamond after that second battle (in which they also sustained a significant amount of damage).

I have also seen one of them go from a green circle, then to a red diamond as they start chasing someone, and then, finally, to a yellow diamond without ever entering into a battle after the fleet they were chasing hit a 30.

I have also seen one of them enter into a battle, take no damage, and continue being a green circle as they were before, so it's very possible that the yellow color is supposed to mean "damaged", but that the code behind the color changes is incredibly buggy. Unfortunately, the color changes are far too inconsistent to draw any conclusions as to what the yellow diamond is supposed to mean.

I'm so tired of being hit by the alien fleets. Most all of my fleets are in repairs. You have driven me out of the game. I liked the old way of the events this new version really sucks a big one.

Obviously you never saw the wormhole events.

It's important to note that these alien fleets act like VSEC fleets; they'll attack fleets +/- 5 levels.

Also, once you're caught by one, you're better off kissing that fleet goodbye. In 5-10 seconds when the battle starts, Cyclones will destroy your fleets, even when you choose to be stationary.

Correction: Not like VSEC at all- some sort of advanced alien targeting technology gives them the ability to attack fleets +/- 10 levels.

They'll attack fleets that have just killed DC event fleets. My 51 fleet never gets attacked otherwise, but my 56 fell to a 60 Unknown Signal.

it's very hard to tell how they target, but they do have a +/- 10 and hate thieves
best way is just to use a guard oooor send some poor fools to their deaths in an insta fleet intercept attack

Please do not speak of those atrocities against Rebels ever again.... Oh the comms **** and whining!!

My fleets never got bit by Aliens because I had them hiding in event fleets whenever I saw they were spawning... Great concept, btw... Add another dimension that only affects the big kids and keeps us on our toes and keeps the youngin's safe

Now before i start explaining, LXC as said all the squadrons are Energy Damage Type.

I did not say that, and they are NOT energy type. If you are quoting me from the stream, I was in an argument whether or not plasma is a type of energy. (spoiler, it is not, it is a state of matter).
Actually MR LXC plasma is the four state of matter. Many places teach that there are three states of matter; solid, liquid and gas, but there are actually four. The fourth is plasma. To put it very simply, a plasma is an ionized gas, a gas into which sufficient energy is provided to free electrons from atoms or molecules and to allow both species, ions and electrons, to coexist. The funny thing about that is, that as far as we know, plasma's are the most common state of matter in the universe. They are even common here on earth. A plasma is a gas that has been energized to the point that some of the electrons break free from, but travel with, their Nucleus . Gases can become plasma's in several ways, but all include pumping the gas with energy. A spark in a gas will create a plasma. A hot gas passing through a big spark will turn the gas stream into a plasma that can be useful. and in answer to your question is plasma a type of energy. i say this... i use 5mw plasma torches to produce syngas which is then cracked in a plasma gasification chamber to make short chain syngas which is then turned into to liquid fuels from fisher trophce synthesis so plasma a plasma is an ionized gas, a gas into which sufficient energy is provided to free electrons from atoms or molecules and energy being electricity or as our plasma cannons use a transferred arc or lighting spark  and to allow both species so technically yes it is a type of energy as electricity has to be passed into a plasma cannon for there to be a stream of plasma.. however it is always done with an ionized gas which is why i guess you placed the green cloud around the alien space ships so you can use the term plasma weapons on the ships

Look, no one is debating the fact that plasma is a state of matter, or how much of a monumental idiot you'd have to be to think it's a type of energy. That's been settled. But don't type a wall of text reacting to LXC's breathtaking lack of scientific knowledge like a 6 year old just asked some sort of schizophrenic version of Bill Nye the Science Guy what plasma is. Just shake your head in disappointment and ignore it, like the rest of us.

But, now that you have posted an explanation, here's a few technical corrections/elaborations (and i can understand why you didn't mention these- no use overloading LXC's poor lizard brain with too much info at once):

    1. There are many, many states of matter, not just 4. Most of them really only existed tiny fractions of a second after the big bang, or can only be formed under strictly controlled laboratory conditions.

    2. Very common examples of natural plasma that forms on earth include: Lightning, fire, St. Elmo's Fire (aka corona discharges, or the purple light that you'll occasionally see forming around/off of pointy objects on ships, airplanes, or power lines), and the Aurora Borealis.

    3. Yeah, the only reason they put a green cloud around the alien ships is to make it look more "alien-y". You're really overestimating how much thought goes into creative decisions like this. Nothing in this game is scientifically accurate, so why would they start being scientifically accurate this late in the game?

Finally, LXC, if you're reading this, I'm just kidding about all the "LXC is an idiot" jokes.

    Please don't ban me.
