Since I do not know where to put a wish list  item. Here I go.
Hey Kixeye, how about coming out with a way that the small guys can retrofit an Old Naval Lab Floating Fortress into a Floating Fortress-A or in to the Citadel? The last one course will be a no go most likely, but the first is a possibility the seems reasonable.

Here it some other things I would like.
Take all the hull refits to retrofit level 10 and on the Forsaken hulls how about putting another technology slot at level 10 and give them some radiation resistance? A 3rd tech slot of a FF-A would be cool, or a 4th tech slot on a Triton or Atlas.

the problem with this is two fold.

#1 the FF is a research hull and not retro-able, this is straight from kixeye. It uses a different coding for researched hulls, than used for the prize hulls. it would require a complete rework of the coding. Considering Kixeye's track record for bugs and glitches with coding changes, best to stay the course.

#2 being able to "Make" a citadel would **** on all of those that fought and coined to earn theirs. Not that it hasn't happened, Blade missile is the best example of that, but i don't expect it to happen

Well first: I said in the OG statement, for Kixeye to allow people to be able to retrofit their Old FFs into the blue print FF-A. This can be done through a special feature. This could also be done with the Hammerhead, Sea Scorpion, Battle Barge and Marauder. It would allow the players that are first getting these blue print hulls to easily upgrade already built ships into the improved versions of them. Could be a real big boost in getting players to play more.  Kixeye will sooner or later put the Citadel in FM so that is just a waiting period anyway or it can be placed in another campaign.

Allowing players to retrofit old Hull Lab ships into the blue print versions of them would be a good win for Kixeye. It might just bring players back who left the game through the means of them be able to get the better hull through a shorter process than having to out right build the new ship. The conversion process shouldn't take that long in number of days and shouldn't actually cost that much in resources. Picture this: 15 old Floating Fortresses converted to the FF-A hull in about the same time it would take to build 5 FF-As. This would be a publicity for Kixeye to cash in on. They could put a coin cost on the conversions to speed up the time just as they have with other constructions.

You shouldn't be so negative about this issue and Kixeye needs to be able to have a player friendly benefit to pull in more gamers, and this could be one.

I see the point you are trying to make, but at the same time I do not believe it's impossible. They DID give predator/stalker subs a VXP repair specialist after all. I don't think it is unlikely that they can give them retrofits given that they were able to give them that.
