Kix already said no to the Dry Dock about 150 billion times. Even if that happened I'm sure players would still complain. It's just the way it goes.
Just like they also said that we would NEVER need uranium for builds and research and there would NEVER be top end hulls in the FAT and there would NEVER be aircraft in the game.
The small novelty value of being able to test a few 'dream fleets' out doesn't sound like it will balance out the division of Dev resources away from actually fixing something important in the game itself or to creating some rewarding new gameplay that serves a real purpose.
Why is someone up there in Kix land spending time/resources coming up with ideas that DONT move the game forward?? When we have so many issues in need of real attention.
We are thinking about making Forsaken Arena not FAT absolutely free and giving players an easy way to find and enjoy watching highly skilled players in FvF matches.
Key Points: - Forsaken Arena will be free-to-play. No uranium required and repairs will be not be necessary. - Through a new filter in the Locator, you will be able to find and view live FvF matches between the highest-level players. - There will be slots up to 10 viewers allowed per battle to make viewing easier and more engaging. - With the Arena being absolutely free of any costs and repairs, there will be no VXP rewarded for these battles.

The playerbase was asking for reducing the repairingtime for the "whole" game. With that, you give them "free repairings" (and that is great!) only in a part from the whole game, so it seems, that you are not willing to do anything for regular tasks.
Yes, it would bring back some fun...but only in a restricted area. I dont think, that this is a good deal, if we dont get also a significant reduction from the regular repairtime. I guess, thats the compromise, the KIXEYE management will offer us.
I don't care much for PVP. I've made that very clear. However, many people have said just as clearly that they like PvP as much as I hate it.
What Doom proposed here is the closest thing to true PvP I could ever expect to see in this game.
Anyone who doesn't support this can't turn around and say that they are interested in PvP.
Personally, I don't care at all for this, but that being said, I still voted for this being a good idea because there are other players around me who would like it, and everyone should be able to get some enjoyment out of the game, even if it looks different for different people.
Edit: If you are looking for awards, then shove off. PvP isn't about shiny bling. PvP is about proving that you are better than the other guy. If that doesn't interest you, then don't say you are interested in PvP.

PvP in Battle Pirates was always about base hitting and FvF was a distant cousin. Base hittin is were legends were made. I can list a few big names like ****, Naphalm , Phantom Assassin and Admiral Akbar and his FF's!.
I can list one well known PVE player only, Highlander. Thats it...
I can not think of one well known/famous FvF player...
Arena was created because the FvF player wanted more FvF, but they didnt..they wanted more chances of catching base fleets with subs (back when a base fleet just died when hit by subs- unlike today).

When you don't have a human experience participating actively with another human experience, it's not called PvP, it's PvE. Many people get very confused and think that just because a player designed their base it is all of a sudden PvP. That's not really the case.
Something is categorized as PvE when NPC is the enemy you are attacking. If there is no person controlling, that's what the NP (of NPC) stands for.
I know I am a strong minority in thinking that everything that people think is PvP isn't actually PvP, but that doesn't make me wrong. Just call it what it is: hitting absent player bases - we can even abbreviate that to APB. You like to do APB, not PvP.
So, what is the motivation for players to do battles? If there is no prize, it becomes a waste of time, and while fvf can be fun, you need incentive to duke it out. to smash the other guy.

i rarely feel like doing the FAT because it is impossible to get a match. maybe kixeye can make that @#$^&*% annoying 2 minute timer go away, and let us get into battles faster.

Agreed. I hate the long timers. Hoping the free nature of this new setup will encourage more people to queue up, thus shortening the wait for everyone so we can stay fighting.
First, it would be neat to rotate available tech so that players could use the newest stuff some weeks and be limited to older stuff the next. this gives the players a place to showcase their building and driving skills and reduces the ability to find that one design that beats everything. Second, the popularity of this format might help drive home the benefit that lower repair costs would have on the rate of player participation to the kixeye executive team.
Here is my thought, they are eliminating U insurance due to people using the arena for free (sort of) ranking. Yes they are making it free, but also no VXP for battles, this is another example of them eliminating a "chore" that benefits us. Like TLC campaigns

sounds like a step in the right direction. let the bullies and rich folk duke it out in the arena. Now if we could get it so that those interested in doing base attacks have a similar setup and those of us that do not care for base being attacked or attacking bases can opt out of this happening would be nice. I find the game fun enough doing just player vs enemy which is why I do not like attacking bases.
i voted no as would prefer changes to the game itself and not a pvp that nobody uses

I didn't say the proposal was perfect just that i was interested, like the title wanted. It will get boring if they don't tie it to something interesting. They don't have to tie it to a reward just something that interesting and long term. I had the one idea of making it an alliance competition. Also had a few other ideas but i don't think anyone is really interested in hearing them.

I like the idea of being able to fleet v fleet again without losing a fleet for 18+ hrs to repair so I would be more than interested in the change. The change that we REALLY want to see is a reduction in overall repair times (and build times) so that we can have fun in all aspects of the game. It shouldn't take 18+ hrs to repair 1 fleet and should not take 20-30 days to build 1 ship. Yes there is anticipation in the build and that would not go away but the disheartening feeling of knowing it will take 3-4 months to build a fleet (that will likely be obsolete before it's finished) will be gone and people will be more likely to spend. Would it not be good to have more people coining, even if the cost was less, than to have a few coining more? Think about that as you move forward.

How about making "banned player" bases auto repair every 6 hours, to give people a chance to practice base hitting skills without any come back, YES!
If they get banned for cheating then open their bases up for target practice. :-)
