Would you be interested in these proposed changes to the Forsaken Arena?

    Have way to many chores to do in the game to spare time to watch others play.

    I think there are more pressing issues of things that need fixed. Added yet another thing and overlooking other current issues isn't my idea of an improvement. The idea sounds good, but I rather have a more stable gaming platform free of glitches.

    I didnt see it was about the arena, not the FaT.

    In that case, i really dont care. I entered arena when it came out, allways a subfleet and a pinch fired.

    No interrest at all.

    Neutral.

    There's nothing wrong with the changes per se but there's other areas that require wayyyy more attention a hell of a lot sooner than the regular arena (especially if any incentives to play said arena are going with these changes)

    Focus on the stuff that you (Kixeye) said you were going to address (build times, repair times, trust, quality control and communication) and leave the fluff until after you've addressed the major issues that are making players laeve the game.
    More shell game and 3 card monty in my opinion

    I love the idea, anyway to make it so you can still use your fleets even when your dock is repairing? If so then I would definitely give it two thumbs up

    As presented this sounds like a great idea.  Fun with no ramifications.  However, I think with the ongoing customer trust deficit there is a bit of skepticism.  Heck why stop here...allow players within the same alliance to  hit each other with no repair, medals, resources or damage protection involved.

    I love the idea, especially with sandbox format, but there would need to be a reward structure.  FA requires a certain density of players to be fun and to avoid long queue times.  One way to increase density is to offer good rewards...though probably not tech rewards, which would only contribute to power creep.

    Combat Ranking - obviously we'd want these battles to affect Combat Rating, but would probably need to remove the FAT feature where you start with points according to your combat rating...otherwise, pirates who spend a lot of chair time doing free FA battles would be impossible to overtake when FAT begins.  (Alternately, you could leave the feature and only FA veterans would be in contention for top prizes--which could also work.)

    Badges for Combat Ranking - possibly a lot of them, with different tiers -- a whole new tab of badges

    Another way to increase participant density would be to limit the free FA format to a certain weekend, or certain hours of the day.

    I also love Carl's idea of attempting to level-match fleets, perhaps with subs getting a large penalty, such that those building top-tech fleets would have the greatest odds of encountering subs.  Of course, in a perfect world, the fleet level system would first need an overhaul first, so it takes into account the number and type of weapons, armor, and hulls.  The current system, based only on fleet armor, is comically bad: a HH fleet could get "evenly paired" against tigersharks or a HC leading blade rhinos.

    SOUNDS a good idea, but will have to see it in action first.

    As we know with a lot of ideas that sound good, there is always a downside that ruins it :)

    is it open to all level of players or will there be some kind of entry cap ?
    if you win do you stay on ?
    Can we have endless battles all day 
    Are we going to use our own fleets or is there a toy box ?

    i am neutral about this, preferably maybe something like no uranium cost, half repairs, and double vxp gain would make this a good alternative to farming salvs and vxp targets during vxp events.

    Maybe once a week kix should do free instant repair for all Fleets(not FA but for real) or if too much then limit 10 free fleet repairs that day idk lol   happy kill day with lots of chaos muhaha :D

    Would  been nice to have Halo & Atari Tanks rules and game types..... 



    Prizes: 

    • Uranium mining until you are defeated, but must win 10 challenges and Alliance must be 30 days active and members must been with group for 7 days to gain Uranium. [ Mining only active if you defeat multiple Alliances and you can not engage if your Alliance lost in a battle, until after certain amount of time has pass or after 3 battles from those that hold Forsaken Arena on map... Plus you must hold Forsaken Arena on map in another sector other then where your Leader/Group is in.
    • Single, Double or elusive Triple & Quad prints for single slot [ Load up prints within a single slot ]
    • * 1% - 5% Boost added to any bonus
    • * Emp rocket every 1 min (slows down hit ships and scramble's movement for 3 seconds) Recharges in 5min after every FvF

    • * Stealth shielding: Once you activated this option, then only last for 20 sec, but you will not able to fire during this time.... You will have bonus engine boost 75% speed during this time to make your escape. Recharges in 5min after every FvF

    • * Jebus all bonus: Activate this option and will give 5% - 25% bonus extended life.


    GAMES

    Capture the Flag : 2 - 12 player mode. 4 home bases [ small form maps ]

    • Instant Relay launch
    • mine field
    • heavy armoured torp towers
    • base turrets ( Team selection )
    • capture 10 flags
    • fleet heeled after you capture opponent's flag ( can capture multiple teams flag )... ( If your team is killed and flag taken, then you must wait till your flag appears back in base ) 
    • Power-ups (Health-up, Clone-me, Drone anti-all [are drones with anti-all weapons that circle your fleet... includes torps] ect...)

    Heavy Hitters:  2 - 12 player mode. Only Base guard type hulls Goliath ect 

    • Overload powerups
    • Power-ups (Health-up, Clone-me, Drone anti-all [are drones with anti-all weapons that circle your fleet... includes torps] ect...)


    Hot Potato: 4 - 50 player mode. Random player gets tagged.. Last Man Standing wins

    • All weapons turn to short range stun mode except for Tagged player
    • Power-ups (Invisible, Clone-me, Drone anti-all [are drones with anti-all weapons that circle your fleet... includes torps] ect...)
    • Time limit event for those holding the potato.


    The Flood: 2 - 12 player mode. Drones, drones drones.. Survive to win.

    I actually love this idea and @LEAD_WEIGHT's idea. A lot of other combat games have similar arena games like those to play. Host games with set parameters, like a fleet level cap and minimum, ability to not allow certain hulls or hull types( I.E. no subs, no flagships, no limited hulls, ect. ), a dozen or so random maps possibly with islands and neutral turrets you can take over by parking next to them, and maybe even an alliance vrs alliance feature, where two( or more) alliances all enter a team vrs team battle.

    Tech Owned:

    Hulls: GoreSaber, Mastodon r1, SCX, BC r8, BCX r4, MC, MCX, Mercury r10, Vindicator, Interdictor, Nuclear Cruiser, Hurrican, Goliath r2, Enforcer r1, Nighthawk, V2H r10, Battleship, DN, and DNX,

    Weapons: Drac Railgun D-110, DragonFire Rockets, D92U & S, 104N cryo, D98U Antipode, Bypass CG 1-3, Disruption Missile D53-D, D55-Z, Styx Torp, Crossbow 1, Phalanx 1-3, Drac Hailstorm A-C, Locust UAV, Blaze Thrower

     As long as there isn't anything about regular gameplay that will prevent you from doing it anytime you choose (dead dock, op, or damaged buildings) then I am absolutely all for it... Could pass the time during dock repairs and that would be great for retention.

    I would rather see something done with rogue crews. A recycling system that allows you to exchange x amount of commons for an uncommon+. 

    A FA team fight feature would be nice... 5 on 5 style. Even 3 on 3 would be nice. 

    An internal feature for sharing actual ship builds with alliance members would be nice. An alliance forum ingame would be beneficial. Allowing alliance members to speed up structure builds or research by visting their base daily would be nice. (make it an on the map task. I.E. a boat of some sort would have to be sent to an alliance members base).

    Skin sets for base buildings would be nice. Make them cargo drop like prints. 

    I have a lot more ideas that would make the game more pleasant. But after putting some thought into it, I don't think that taking a feature that costs and pays and turning it to a feature that is free but awards nothing would be beneficial to the game. I can think of a single purpose and that would be free testing of ships, assuming you can get an opponent.

    Hyperbole, comparison, reasoning. Look them up. 

    I have posted things in the wish list. I was using the examples to show things that I believe to be more beneficial than the changes proposed, and where time could be better spent.

    I would also like to see a "Sandbox" mode to test builds similar to how the FAT is, but with all the tech you have available to you.

    It's pretty much as far as you could possibly get from something you need to do. It's for fun. People complain and say all there is in the game is chores then they get something fun and instantly attack it? smh

    i like the free part but not the no vxp and i think players should have to use the fleets they have  built  so they can gain good vxp  for a small amount of uranium cost
