Developing the Story Further, Multiple Scenarios

The way Kixeye is developing the story makes it seem as if it is coming to a close, which would be... bad. I have come up with a few scenarios to further the story.

Scenario #1, "Its just the beginning"
All of our previous fights with Vega was just a beginning, we have just been fighting with just a single branch of one of the many arms of the monstrous mega corporation. Vega decides to send additional help into your sector(s) and replaced and demoted the previous Vsec commander due to his incompetence, with several bright and talented commanders. The commanders compete with other, vying for favor from their higher ups; the competition has made them even more ruthlessly efficient at suppressing the rebellion.

Scenario #2, "Its a Trap"
Vega has realized the potential threat the new Iron Star Company poses to them and have decided to trick the ISC and the rebels. Their plan was to appear weakened and lure in ISC and rebels into deep Vega territory filled with hidden Vsec fleets to halt the rebels and the ISC in one fell swoop. It succeeded. With the ISC leader dead and much of the rebels that was lured into Vega territory dead, they are both in shambles. The ISC, with nowhere to go takes refuge in and around rebel sectors and planets.

Scenario #3, "Liar"
The war between ISC, Larus, and Vega was all an elaborate lie in order to suppress the rebellion in one fell swoop. Algol and much of his supporters knew about them but was driven away before he could expose the truth to everyone, but he returns with a new faction and new technology to battle Vega and the ISC and to save the rebels.

Scenario #4, "Tenacious"
Vega is weakened but the end is nowhere in sight. The closer we get to the heart of Vega, the more ferociously they fight and more experimental technology is seen. With each new hurdle conquered, an even higher one is set with Vsec fighting with ever increasing vigor and using newer and more dangerous experimental technology. Algol returns with a new faction and technology, competing with Larus for Rebel support and helping in the war against Vega. There is tension between Algol and his supporters and faction and Larus and his band, sometimes turning into skirmishes between their forces.

The events tied to these scenarios are found here. I will also add more to this as I come up with more ideas.

P.S. Kixeye, if you like this, feel free to use my scenarios and events.
P.S.S. 2nd post!

There should really be an option to create polls.

I've always said Larus and ISC will ultimately betray the rebels and we'll end up fighting against the ISC by the end of next year. (And we'll win, too- those guys can't build ships AT ALL...)

Then Algol and some new faction show up, fight with rebels against ISC, VEGA decide to fort up and wait until everyone else is done fighting then mop up once they're done OR VEGA charge into the middle and attack anything in sight (option A is more logical, but VEGA don't seem that logical in their strategies- how else could they "lose" to ISC? (I STILL say ISC got smashed by vega just dumping terminus mines round their HQ and some arrestor turrets/valkyrie carriers to slow them ISC armoured fridges down) Seriously, VEGA, get some sense and leave the rebels to take down ISC then continue the nice bilateral VEGA vs rebels war as before...)

And then, ALIENS. Those antimatter thingies didn't get there by themselves! Sooooo many different stories could happen in this game...

And it's pretty clear that VEGA extends far beyond the little mining and security bits we've seen so far. VP Rumbelow was "Senior VP Outer Mining Operations" meaning there's a whole lot more going on in VEGA's structure. Wish the in-game story would be more consistent about what, exactly, VEGA is- a federation, a corporation, both have been used in the past and at first it was the VEGA corporation but now it's VEGA federation, did they buy over the government or something? ARE they the government? MORE BACK STORY STUFF!
    My VC story:
Vega Conflict-er since closed beta phase 1, back when torpedo harriers ruled the sector.
BP- started in the black sea days, then the game died...
WC- started pre-World Map, then everything went downhill.

Let's be honest here the only true threat is the aliens who built the AM thingies(relics?) we rebels can handle both vega and ISC if need be. But for now keep your base well guarded and build ever more powerful fleets. (I would love to able to build a second fleet bay or get a new set of upgrades that increase max mass.)

There's a story?  Sorry, but 2-4 sentences a month vaguely telling me WHY I'm killing Vega is hardly a story.  If there's a story, it needs to flow a lot more like the tutorial...

the current story is ISC vs Vega atm... back then there was always this mystery voice telling us stuff about vega.

It's just so... sparse as to be nearly non-existent.  Not only that, but there isn't really a 'goal' for events besides, "kill as much **** as possible to get gear".  If no one killed stuff, I'm sure there wouldn't even be any story-related consequences.

true :P but then again its just a video game lol ive played i dunno how many games whos stories are either full of plot holes (sonic the hedgehog) or repeat the same crap (super mario bros) story doesnt matter as long as the game is fun. but i can say there is some story to vega... its just not where the game began... vega's only actual story is pre game.
