    All new features seem interesting.
Reavers: "Once more, into the breach!"
    Let it burn: OK.
Toy Box Arena: Think of it as the Mutara Nebula of battle Pirates. Spock: "Sauce for the goose, Mr Savik, the odds will be even." ST2 WOK.
Firebat drones: Why do I get the feeling that they drop hot guano on my base when they attack? talk about a "Bat Day". (The Batman '66 theme music during the attack would be hilarious.)
I guess Firebird was too cool for school. How come Batman has not used his lawyers on this?

    Glen Phillips said:
I read that as using the toybox blocks out the use of actual ships.  I wouldn't at all assume that the use of built ships was being disabled, just that it was an either/or.  Also, no idea what's in the toybox.  Even if it was everything, that still could be less than ideal for many players (not me, I'd probably use it, but my best fleet is BCX), if the toybox ships don't have rank.

I hope it is an either or kind of thing. See above comment on TBA.

The Abyss: I saw the movie. It was OK, but I was rooting for the aliens.

And I still see a loading page with Greta , Zoe, and Grim in a pillow fight with their sleep wear. Now that, would be entertaining.

Things that would have been cool to have been made, would be a super fast torpedo that flames a boat sort of like a "hot foot" for 10 seconds. This would be different from a fire field because it affects the boat only. I know Night Hawk owners would be happy with glee, break out the Kriegsmarine music, and pass out the brats with beer.
How about a new hull that is a little easier on the eye. The modern art Reaver ships give me a head ache. And while your at it, start the new series of new hulls to already have a repair modifier of say 25% and a build of half time for any weapons, specials, armors added. So even if missile A is added and it takes 1 day for example, then on that hull, it takes just half a day.

I know that is no compromise for reduced ship build, repair, and refit times. We still want that. Half! Half! That is 50% off in real world math. That is 50% off in Kixeye mathematical permutations. That is probably not on the break room dart board. But short of breaking into Kixeye and using construction adhesive to stick a note on that board, whilst magnetizing said board as such, to draw a dart with irresistible force to the board, having a spotter **** the often wayward dart thrown by an intern and sticking it on the board, and lastly ambush Harbin in the elevator with a strike team of extremely motivated men and women that just went to taco bell only to inflict near deadly flatulence to him until he breaks.
These are not desperate times, but pirates will go to extremes, the likes of which are far more intricate and dastardly, than what I have outlined here.
    Just saying >:)

Id have been way mad about the FAT if I had spent time building fleets for it through real shipyard time, most of the winners couldnt give a crap less about you being able to join the battle as a noob , your just another number on the kill streak most of the time.

Oh, come on, man... they wouldn't use that music.

    They'd use this:

interesting would be a bad choice of words, flusterating infuriating maddening would probably fit better

your always butthurt what else is new? this is the best thing to come to the arena, im guessing since most of you are mad, you wont be able to sandbag your way into an easy victory in the lower bracket facing off against noobs with less than mediocre fleets and even BBs, if they add the same hulls and weapons for the toybox, the noobs will for once have a chance against you all.
the vast majority of better players would not be sandbagging to the lower groups.

The prizes have been so good that sandbagging was a very stupid decision.

Poor decisions, however, is what gives the better players an advantage.

To further that, if people were concerned about good fleets with a low combat rating, all kix needed to do was to make FAT battles affect your combat rating.
EDIT:  Would have to say my combat rating didn't reflect my fleet capabilities in the last FAT.  But didn't "sandbag", I just never play arena outside of FAT.

bottom line they dont care about fixing build/repair times(unless you are a whale or hacker) and instead of fixing all the new features that dont work they are going to continue ta add more new features that arent going to work.
This seems to be the path they have chosen.  Tokens sound great but unless you get one day reduction token per week (at a minimum) it is a total farce.

Were is the issues of repair and build time?
Were is word on improvements to token offerings?
Were is the word on FM changes?
Nothing on a possible new faction (was told would be may jun and nothing not even a hint of any yet)
No new ship retro's for dozens of hulls that are extremely old and need help.

But on the up side thanks for saving me 2 months of ship building for an arena fleet.

Repair times and build times are being addressed with tokens and with some lowering of initial build times, as we've seen with recent prizes. It's a small step, but a step.

A step were?? Tokens only 3 ways to get then Need more ways and less work to get them, If this is the FIX!!

We've added tokens to the FMs as alternate prizes and to the FAT. They will most likely be added to the upcoming event as well (read as very likely). As far as increasing capacity? That probably won't happen for a while (if ever), so be sure to use your tokens when you have them in order to get more!
Like our Dock WOW.. No surprise here..

FM changes are still in the works. I think we're aiming for July. We're going to see how reducing the total amount of new FM content to 2 per release and changing the cycle to after events and see if this helps players get caught up. Once we know how these changes have affect the FMs, we can move forward.

About time and it need's more content per tier also..

Re: new faction... Le sigh.... No news as of yet. There was plans for a new faction in May but this got delayed as we got busy implementing new features instead. As it stands, there may be a new faction sometime later this year.

re: Ship retros. Yep, and we'll get to them eventually.

Glad to hear you like the idea of the new FAT format!

Just hope to see more work done to fix Ship pathing in FM's and in Drake base's SOON! The Tower's for going to and from other Secter's need fixing..
Then all the other stuff from up above Need's to be more INFO from someone of the BP team to get us more INFO.

Tokens and repair specialists are a good step but are they the only step we should expect? What is the long term goal for where repair and build times are going?

Are repair costs in the main game going to stay high and is the Arena what is intended to fill the role for FvF combat? Or are there any plans to make FvF more attractive outside of the arena by adjusting fleet repairs somehow?

And the new arena format sounds interesting. But as I have learned, hope for the best but expect to be disappointed.

Its not the hitting, they each have several fleets that can auto multiple 27s, and if driven do a 34. Its the finding that is the issue. Even with BMs they spend more time search8ng and driving to 27s then they do hitting. The spawn numbers and rate is the issue, unfortunately they both have RLs and arent willing to spend hours looking for targets. For some reason they dont view scrolling a laggy map fun. Go figure.

Mostly true, but as a 48, I've got 20+ L27's BM'd, and that makes it fastish to hit the 300 needed by me for tier 4. Plus, I'm now able to do a 40 with 2x V2H and some seawolves. Good times.

BP should still work in Chrome, it'll just be using the Native Client version of Flash instead of the Adobe version.

Now, if this were Vega Conflict... yeah, then you'd have cause for concern; as far as I know, there's no Native Client version of Unity yet, so you'd need to use another browser (e.g., Firefox or one of its assorted forks, such as Waterfox or Pale Moon).

Why is it that the jugs are still not in the list of vxp specialists but a lot of the new hulls are already there? maybe you should try starting with some of the older hulls first, since with the insane build times, most of the players are still using them.

Doom has been one of the best CM's to date  (IMHO)

Why do you fault him on stuff he doesn't control?  Blame the development team for that.

I would rather have information before hand (even if sometimes it turns out to be wrong)

    NOT A FANBOY

Just one old man's opinion.    B)
I'll tell you why you are wrong.

It is the CM's JOB to pass to us, the players, information from the rest of kixeye.  TRUTHFUL information.  If for some reason the CM lies to us (DEV team gives him bad info or whatever) then the CM should takes steps to ensure this does NOT happen again.

Unfortunately it feel like the CM tells us misleading information or outright lies on a monthly basis.  Either steps have not been taken to ensure we get truthful information in a timely basis or the steps that have been taken are ineffective.

This is not simply my opinion but the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from the facts.

ive worked for shoddy businesses and know what its like to be given different info by different senior staff.

the way the game is i think doom is the least of the problems, what i see is a guy who tries but is probably very frustrated by his colleagues words/actions, add to that our btching at him.

im sure i woulda been hitting the bong hard after work in his shoes lol

It seems to me that the CMs job (in part) is one of two things:

    • pass TRUTHFUL information to the players
    • pass whatever the dev's &/or his boss says

If it is the former then he has not takes sufficient steps to do his job & I fail to see how anyone can feel "sorry" for him.  If it is the latter then his boss(es) must be happy with him and, frankly, anything we say about him doesn't really matter. (So again, why would anyone feel "sorry" for him?)

So you would be happy to get 1 day a week off your builds, 4 tokens a month, 48 a year?

48 days a year is what you are aiming for?

This raid we can get 7 days off our ship build, The campaign each month is 2 days. And if they keep the 1 in the FAT and you are good at FvF, you will get 10 days a month,  2.5x above of what you consider a total farce.

After seeing this much negative feedback, kixeye will change token structure next month. I hope they wont follow the same trend next month also...
