A couple of tips for the new players to Vega Conflict.
1: Always do the tutorial at the beginning it may tell you can skip it but do not. It will teach you a lot about the combat and basics of the game. I myself have not played the tutorial since I first started which was when the game was not even released to the public but rather to beta testers. I have no idea what may have changed or new things it teaches you but this is a good tip to follow for any game. Who knows you may get a better foot hold by playing an optional tutorial in some games. (If anyone can add to what the tutorial has and teaches please message me or better yet add it to the forum).
2: If you are ever low on resources go ahead and recycle or decommission your pathfinders. It is good to keep in mind that they will give you a little bit of resources but you can not remake them. However the corvettes you can and they can be used the same way as the path finder as a base scout, are just as fast , have better fitting and a whole fleet of them can be repaired in under 5 minutes which mean you can instant repair them.
3: If you have less than 15 to 10 minutes till the end of your build/repair/research then it is a good idea to hang around and wait till the timer is at 5 minutes or less. if you have gold then wait till it says 4:59 or less to be safe you don t wast a gold. You can use this technique to design fleets to auto destroy a Vega fleet of a certain level then collect the left over cargo with a "Cargo Fleet" designed to carry large amounts of cargo and be fast on both the sector and planet maps.
4: A way to get around your planet fast, or for that matter any planet is to launch your fleet and then use the "Leave Planet" Command. Then either scroll, use a bookmark, or go to a fleet already at the location you want to be and then just tell the fleet you told to leave planet to enter. Your fleet will be able to make a 3 minute trip in 15 seconds.
5: Sector guidelines are a set of rules you are encouraged to follow. I live in sector 100. one of the first sectors. we are know for being a free hold sector and basically ONLY have guidelines, not rules. some sectors may have rules that you really should follow but most here is a list of guideline that are good to follow in any sector especially if you are new. A: Do not all caps in chat .its a good way to piss off people and set your self up for a attack. if you accidentally all caps then apologize and hope they don't care. B: Do not poach other peoples cargo. if you see a Vega fleet drifting around with no one around its safe to leave it alone. if its a big one the mark the cords and as if its free. if anyone says yes its pretty safe to take it. I did this one time and was bubbled and farmed for a month. if someone says "free" or "free soon" with cords next to it then that means its fair game for anyone to take. C: Do not be racist , sexist, or abusive or discriminatory in any way . Its a good idea not to smack talk either or say your tough. saying anything along these lines will set you up for a sector wide attack or worse.
If anyone has anything to add to this please post it in the chat and I will edit it in as well.
If you run low of resources. Attack VEGA cargo fleets, not recycle some corvettes lmao. Recycling them probably doesn't even return back 100 resources.
This is true if you are low on resources and have a fleet that can take out a Vega cargo then do it however when starting out pathfinders are useless that was my point.
also decide play style.
Offense attacker concentrate on ship build
defense concentrate on base defense.
Difficult to do both well. Unless you coin like mad man.
I personally find more fun having advanced ships and adding base defence last. I tried both styles.

With this new update its actually possible to do both efficiently at once, take advantage of the structure upgrade/refit bonuses especially on combat modules.
For a new player such as myself what would be a good play style? how would I find out how to train into that style?
How would one do both exactly?

If you wnat to attack other players concentrate your reasearch on ship wepons and ship specials. Upgrade your bridge, Ship Lab, Factory and ship Bay as fast as you can. Dont spend time or resources on Combat mods beyond level 3 untill all labs are level 10 and bridge is level 5. Build a couple of rancor auto fleets as fast as you can best scatter missles and best sheild you have keep improving them. Build talons LEARN TO FLY THEM. Get revs as fast as you can. DO not Build venoms untill you need tier 4 Blueprints.
If you want a tight base build several rancor auto fleets see above and spend time upgrading your bridge, labs and Cms to level 10 and concentrate your reasearch on base wepons and specials. Watch every base hit and learn how to defend.
You cant do both the labs cant get the reasearch done fast enough.

If you're going to do that you're going to need a good build for your base and steadily get better tech. Before the new system was implemented, it was a good idea to upgrade your base as much as possible before level 36.
Also, any other tips for newbies like myself would be much appreciated. Perhaps this is out of place in this thread. Apologies if that is the case.
