Hey everyone!

I'm Takkers, I'm a member of the Vega Conflict team and am here today to give a look into our latest feature Alliances! Alliances will bring a new level of organization and community into VEGA CONFLICT by giving you the ability to band together with your friends and fellow players to achieve dominance in the universe! You will have a new chat window to talk amongst your alliance, along with some other new changes! Below is some helpful information to get you ahead of the curve with ALLIANCES!

Alliance Basics

  • Alliances can have up to 75 members
  • Alliances can be created by any player level 20 and above
  • Players of any level can join an existing Alliance
  • Players must serve a probationary period in an Alliance before they can leave the Alliance - this is to discourage Alliance espionage, although they can be kicked by the Alliance leadership
  • The Alliance medal tally is the sum of all Alliance members’ medals and determines the Alliance position on the Alliance leaderboard

Alliance Identification

  • Alliance names are 4 - 25 characters long and must be unique
  • Alliance tags are 3 - 5 characters long and must be unique
  • Alliance descriptions are up to 250 characters long and are used to describe the motto or aim of the Alliance (“Destroy Everyone” etc)
  • Changing the Alliance name, tag or description after creation costs coins
  • Members of an Alliance will have their Alliance tag displayed in front of their name
  • When we launch Alliances we will offer everyone a free name change as we recognize that some informal Alliances have changed their names already. Name length will be slightly shortened. More info coming...
  • Base and fleet names of fellow Alliance members will appear in blue to help easily identify comrades in the heat of battle
  • Alliance message of the day will appear in Alliance chat, and can only be set by the Alliance Leader (COMING SOON)

Alliance Types

  • Alliances can be public or private
  • Public alliances can be joined by anyone
  • Private alliances require players to apply to join and be approved by the leadership of the alliance, or to be invited by existing members

Alliance Ranks

  • There are 3 ranks within an Alliance - Leader, Officer and Member
  • The Leader can promote Members to be Officers
  • The Leader and Officers can kick people out of the Alliance
  • The Leader and Officers can accept requests to join private alliances
  • All Alliance members have access to a private Alliance Chat

Alliance Dialog

  • The Alliance dialog allows members to see an overview of the Alliance, including the Roster and which members are currently online.
  • Alliance Leaders and Officers can manage the Alliance through the Alliance dialog

Future Alliance features:

The initial Alliances feature is deliberately bare bones, and by inviting Trusted Testers to use it on the live game we want to get feedback on what works, what doesn’t and what additions our Alliances would like to see. We have some plans already, but we’re keen to hear from you on how you want to run your Alliances!
  • Alliance “benefits” and “bonus” - will be revealed when Alliances come out of beta
  • Locate Alliance member - find out where fellow members are based
  • Relocate to Alliance member - relocate to where fellow members are based
  • Space Stations - enough said
  • Sister Alliances - officially chat with another Alliance and team up

One of my members created an alliance tag for our group during the Testing phase.  This morning I logged on to get the alliance created wondering if I am to create an alliance since I am the leader or if I am to join the existing alliance?  I created the new tag just to find out the original tag created by the tester is still on the board and low an behold it has not been removed.  Now we are going to have problems getting started because there are 2 groups with the same name.  Assistance required!!

The TT alliances should have been wiped so the leaders could create their respective alliance so there would be no confusion like this one.

We should be able to check who are the members of the Alliances so we can decide if we want to join them, not only by the name, number of medalls and description. Also would be nice to be able to click on the name of the players who sent the request to join the alliance and be redirected to his base so we can decide if we accept his request or not

OK, so how do I join a specific Alliance?  How do I tell if an Alliance is public or private?

    Alliance Types

    • Alliances can be public or private
    • Public alliances can be joined by anyone
    • Private alliances require players to apply to join and be approved by the leadership of the alliance, or to be invited by existing members

How do I change it to private? Is it just click the checkbox?

Btw, many alliances have more than 1 leader or a couple of members as councils and no leader, would be good if you could add the option to have more than 1 leader and a council option with no leader needed.

Yes! When you join an Alliance you will be added to the Alliance Chat. The Alliance Leader can also put up a message of the day in the Alliance.

OK, is there a more persistent way?  Because Alliance Chat resets when game reloads.

If a player asks to join and you accept it the the final decision falls on the player , meaning he has to take the final step to join , it not like friend request

If the leader steps down while there are officers in the alliance will one of the officers then become the leader or does the leader who is stepping down chose the next leader or does the alliance just cease to exist? For example:

Person A starts an alliance and adds Persons B + C as officers and then the rest as members.
Person A then needs to leave for some reason and wants Person C to be in charge.
Therefore when Person A clicks step down as leader do they get to choose the next leader or is it random pick from the current officers or will Person C need to create a new alliance.

But how does Kixeye know how old I am?

LOL, sorry, needed to be said.  C'mon Lycan, admit it, you laughed.  It was at least a LITTLE funny.
