So here is a story... Is this Harassment? (Of Course Not)

Now this is just funny.  I applaud u for attacking back...but asking for an apology for hitting u in a battle game..meh, thats the funny part to me.  Hitting him back relentlessly is exactly as the game was intended. Cudos

Edited the title to something more appropriate.  It's a wonderful story and kudos to the OP for fighting spirit.   >:)

But putting the moderator hat on for a moment...

harassment is a term better reserved for the sort of problem where a creep calls the home phone of a 13-year-old kid.  Yes that's happened (on a totally different game not operated by Kixeye).  It's important to keep strong terms for serious situations, because on the rare occasion where that happens it's important to getting assistance and resolution to have clear words for communication.

To whichever Mod changed the Title of this thread to add the "(Of Course Not)".... Thank You.  It makes me smile.  Cheers!

Haha I do exactly what the OP did in this circumstance. My base gets clobbered almost daily by two or three players all the time as my defenses aren't up to scratch if I am not online and driving my defending ships. Does it bother me, nah not so much.

But each time I log in I see if they have any fleets sitting around and in FvF I do OK, especially if they are not online ...

Does it piss them off? Yes.

Does this bother me, not so much :)

WereSquirrel...  The choice of the word used was not mine.   I found the use of it in this context to be extreme as well.

Harassment is, as you point out, extremely serious in both the real and cyber worlds.

The point of this Thread was to make sure I had not lost perspective.  If it were appropriate then I would owe them an apology.

Thank goodness my sense of things was correct!  :)

Its not harassment but it sounds to me like your **** hurt. You don't like getting your own base hit and use zombie subs to to sink fleets while under your bubble. Then when your bubble pops you hide behind your alliance when they come back to hit you for sinking their fleets. Level should not even matter once your 60+. The only difference is the amount of res both of you have collected and used.

The OP is butthurt ! Did you read it chaos? A L92 threatening to get kixeye involved because a L67 is sinking his fleets; what a weak crybaby. Its the other way round

This is what I've always done. To me base hitting doesn't even make any sense. If they flatten my base, at most I have a 2 hr wait to repair, but if I get revenge by hitting their base, even if successful you're looking at least 4 hrs repair to your fleet. So even when winning you're still losing.

Very good point about the cost of hitting a base. I do hit bases - I get all my alliance points every week from bases and I hit others as my ship health allows and as my desires dictate. Between FM, campaigns, raids, and drac bases, fleets suffer a lot of damage every week, and they take time to repair. My best baser is a mixed HNC/Mauler launcher fleet which can handle many decent (but not really "top" )bases with good prepping.

Sometimes I will return hits on bases I know are better than I can probably kill, but for the most part it's just not worth it. Losing my entire HNC fleet and damaging a prepper is 11-15 hours in repair, which I can afford sometimes, but I need those fleets for other things as well. So excuse me if I am unwilling to spend money I could be using to fund travel, pay for home improvements, or invest in my IRA to coin a fleet so I can come retaliate in the appropriate manner without people thinking I am "****". I care more about my RW family and quality of life than I ever will about what anyone in this game thinks about me.

First thing I learned in the gamer:Never leave fleets out in the open!  I apllaud the OP for fighting back against players whoms bases he prolly can never take, so it's the only way he can pay them back a bit!  Seen plenty of players that have been hit by my allaince come to our sector and sub our fleets as apyback, cos they are in a bubble and can;t hit bases.

    FAIR tactic! Keep it up.

Good that the OP fights back, and I know forum rhetoric is 'always fight back', but there are some spiteful 'people' out there that wouldn't normally keep hitting, those will keep coming back to you after that. They eventually get clever enough to farm w/h and just hit dock/retro/shipyard as well when you are offline.

    Just saying....

p.s. i  havent used  guards  in my base  for a  while  so i dont  have  a  lot  of  repairs  to  do on ships

It is psychological, you get them to apologize to show their inferiority / to admit they were wrong in being foolish enough to attack.

Its like beating someone up and making them say thank you for not hurting them further.

So your hitting bases to get your alliance points i'm betting most of them lower might then yourself but if someone does it to you your gonna spend all your time killing their fleets how does that make you any better then the guy who hit you?

This is such a "feel good story".......reminds me of when I used to keep a tally sheet of hulls I sunk from specific whales.

I love it, keep up the good work :P

Its just the way good old Pirates should play. To many people have forgotten the days of taking a hit and then sinking fleets behind a bubble instead of spamming guards or getting frubbles. More damage can be done behind a bubble so you played it like a true pirate in my opinion.

    Well played :D

Precisely Mr. Hat ... However since they attacked first I would change your second line to something more like:

Its like taking the wallet from someone trying to mug you and making them go to the ATM because they were not carrying enough cash.

Anyway you slice it thought it is more entertainment that I have had from BP in months.  :)
