Maybe it's just me but for the difficulty of this event the prizes really SUCK. Yes I acknowledge that the units are only level 1-2 atm but what's with the deployment system? ALL or NOTHING? 10-12 hours worth of builds all at once or not at all is kinda BS, then there is no disassemble/recycle option so if I want a slightly different mix my ONLY choice is to deploy them all and rebuild every last one of em?
Then there's the thor required for leveling the merc base, 3-4 is 500k (not bad), 4-5 is 1m (reasonable) but 5-6 = 4million? what happened to logical progression?
All in all this event and ESPECIALLY the new units are a disappointment.
5-10 is 4 million for merc building....not liking it because i've been going after more thor than doing event....but then again this event blows hard so i'm not really missing out
Just beat wave 30, and my next wave is .... 30? Has anyone else encountered this issue? If I beat the fortress shouldn't I be allowed to move on to the next wave? Or is there something different about this event?

I would agree that this event was not even close to being fun. When I first started this game the events were fun. This past event was more like work. If I wanted more work I would work later with my business. This has come to the point where the enjoyment is going out the window and this is just another work task. When that happens we will make choices with our 'free' time and do something more entertaining . You made it so much more difficult for the lower lvl's to advance through this event. If I was unemployed and living in my parents basement I could spend hours a day doing this.......but this is not the case for me. Your business model is become flawed. first I reach to wave 62 by using Valkaries ( a lot of Valckaries + BFG + Prime + viper) I stop on Wave 62 , the wave is extremely difficult , how can I hit the Hover by cobras or Hellstorm so please when design game make it possible to every one or even possible by coin , in last event Cerberus 2 I reach to wave 64 with the ability to complete but unfortunately I was have no time to play , but this event I have all time ( I take about 5 days off from my work to can play ) but now I can't play or exceed wave 62
second , there is no good prize to give us the desire to complete the event , before when I was see the puzzle , I think we will have a very good prize like titan , but we have nothing , nothing , nothing
As a player with not a lot of units, I had to waste a few units destroying the level 20 base in the current Iron Wars event, however, upon finally destroying the base, the victory is yours tag appeared with no resources captured, and on returning to world map screen I found the base was back!
Can Kixeye inform me of what has happened here as it is quite obviously a glitch?

its good that this event is harder .... there normally boring only ones who moan are weak... im only on 67 but i will make it abit further if it was easy it would be crap ... lol

not only that,, he's a LVL38 with hs or cobra as best airunit lol if he had coined the money he lost by taking days off work he'd actually be a real 38
The business model for this game is so flawed. They create all these awesome unique units but then find that people coin less cause the units easily wipe bases, so they have to counteract these units with other units or base defenses. It just feels like the company has no long term goals for the game and all the decisions are made on how to improve profits in this quarter, hence the terrible decisions on adding overpowered units.
This game really could be great if some actual thought was put into it's long term goals. Maybe they are trying to think long term but I think we can all see that isn't really the case. The mighty dollar is clouding the judgement of the powers that be.
I was really looking forward to this event, worked hard on base defense, leveled up units I thought could help me get through it... but in the end I am just disappointed and haven't logged back into the game since giving up the event at wave 30. Honestly for a lvl 34 who can take HH45 and AC45 I really thought getting past 30 shouldn't be as hard as it is. At this stage I have no desire to log back in an to be honest don't think I will for a while.
There has been a huge jump in difficulty between previous events and this one 1 or 2 of the changes would have been ok but all of them together are a bit much for most players.
1) The orbital lasers effectively stop any major deployment of ground units until they are all taken out.
2) Rocket Silos now launches missiles that outrange HellStorms
3) Blitz turrets now outrange Elite Hellfires
4) Drone Silos: Reaper drones are now equiped with either unique killers or something with huge AoE that they can take out multiple HS missiles in one go.
While they didnt effect me as much as I just spammed Suicide Evalks but the number of Ehovers and Evanqs(double shields) also seem a bit overkill. Also the increase of Attack waves after wave 60 is a bit much especially with the slow repeair times - up to wave 60 you had 3 or 4 attack waves per 10 levels, after level 60 this jumps to every second wave is an attack wave.
Just looking at wave 66: 8 Towers, 3 Drone Silos, 1 Rocket Silo, 12 Elite Hovers, 12 Machinegun Turrets, 17 EValks, given all this anti-air unless you coin (a lot) the only real way to get through everything is to spam evalks which means your strategy is now where you can spam them to kill most so you have to micro heal them
Just plain rediculous. Evry other wave an attack wave....ehovers on every base after like wave 32...so many shopped hercs and drones. C'mon really guy's? I enjoyed the last event more than this one...and those merc's are a stupid prize...just another building to build out on your base. I gave up on wave 50 because nothing could get past the ehovers missles....even my fully maxed banshees with ehellfires firing on the corner walls couldn't get through. Banshees last about 30 seconds and die. Fun times kix...thanks.
a) They are mindless, none tactical, air spamming waves that seem to be intended to cause the player lots of air repair time and nothing more!
b) These Island waves have no strategy to them which is what War Commander is suppose to be about.
- ORBITAL LASER BUILDING
I DO NOT like because:
a) They prevent the use of slow units: Hellfire, Lasers Tanks, BFG etc which are very effective in War Commander and play a big part in my strategic game-play.
b) They force me to use: other units/faster units: Vanquisher, FAV ETC which I use to spam and take them out. This method gives the player lots repair time but, it is very effective, but far from skillful.
- EVENT PRIZES
Being a high level player, I feel the event prizes are very poor considering I have to get all the way to wave 61 to start unlocking them. I have so much XP going to waste, surely you could have given the high level players new items instead of allowing us to use this XP on a useless trophy!
- FINAL THOUGHTS
I had no disconnections during the event, very happy with this. Overall I am satisfied with the event but do wish it could have been more strategic and less mindless spamming of units.
Suggestion for future events: remove the fortress timer, orbital laser buildings and stop forcing us to rush and spam units.
Give us back our strategy game: War Commander, and allow us to do event waves in our time, no rushing or spamming units I feel we were forced to use!
wave 50...looks like i'll have to suicide valk to open lol
Wave 50 isn't so bad depending on what units you have. Banshees or Vanquishers can take out the orbital laser and Vanquishers can take out the Blitz. BFG can shell pretty much everything else while protected from drones by HT's.
Wave 85 is pretty nuts though. 3 orbital laser bases and I wasn't even able to reach one with a Vanquisher when I tried to, although I see vids with it working and think I might just have lagged or something. Banshee's barely scratch the defenses before they die (I figured I'd kamikaze mine before heading off to work this morning).
This is nuts. The first time I got trouble even at wave 40. Usually I gone by wave 80+ for events! The orbital laser is very imbalance since the range is ridiculously long. Slow moving unit rendered useless, so we forced to sacrifice vanquisher in order to break through. War Commander was about strategy and the event base can be cracked without taking any damage. But time to time, it begin to lost its purpose. It's pretty sad.
I'm level 34 and I've hit a wall at wave 30 (failed it twice, probably need about 15 more minutes) I probably won't play any more.
- the orbital lasers actually remove fun from the game There's no real "cap" can on their game mechanic:
- nearly range the entire map
- constant firing
- unlimited ammo
... if they had one or two limitations on them they'd be more "strategic". But as is they make the laser levels actively un-fun.
- the mercs seem pretty worthless, not an incentive to play on at all.
- the merc building is too big.
and the event difficulty just ramped up too quickly. I'm going to blame the over use of presumably level 15 units with level 6 components liberally on the board.
wave 40 was just crazy I mean are you kidding anyone without a titan and elite hs was screwed over by this wave
i am a lvl 33 and i used only raptors (lvl 6)not fully workshoped and vanquishers (lvl 11) and elite laser tank (lvl 12 with schems) and i got an overall repair time of 16 hours , pretty low repair time , also wave 43 i did only with air (there are no reset timer in non-fortress wave) so i just wait for my air to repair over and over.i didnt use valks with explosion bcz i dont have (i got em now) so show your skill wave 40 is not "crazy"
So far, this thread has made me glad I quit this game after the last event. A game should be fun, not a frustrating lesson in madness. Howmany of you people are having fun right now? How does it feel to know the prizes you are working hard to get will be obsolete in a month or two?
Kixeye has been out of control for sometime. I'll tell you right now, I don't miss this game one bit! Go out, save your money, and enjoy summer! If you're going to coin, at least make Kixeye EARN your money!

Kixeye thinks that by making event hard, people will coin more.
Reality is existing players who used to coin have decided to either quit or play less and not care about the events anymore.
Also Because of the Laser Triangle, one cannot use any land units apart from evanq with shield power, then what is the use of coining for repairs.
And the air is useless without first finding a way to kill all hovers and corrosion based hercs.
What this implies that without evanq and valks and their schematics, players can no way advance even after using coins.
Anyways, currently I am on 88 and would be stopping soon after beating wave 91, but this has to be one of the worst events for WC lovers.

the reason for the lasers in bases is cause kixeye gave us a bfg and they would walk bases easy... so its to counter that ...

My thoughts about iron march event.
- ISLAND WAVES
I DO NOT like because:

No more strategies in operations, now just suicide toons. Congratulations Kixeye. Only profit, it's not good.

I did quit event after wave 40.
This is ridiculous on difficulty. It seems that Kixeye just want we coining all the time.
If next event will have this level, i simple quit playing WC.
