April Event = the best hull you can get

i see alot of people complaining on how the mission are hard and they dont have the fleets to do 55/65's. I am here to say that in the next event there is one hull you should get. This Hull is so versatile it can be used in every aspect of the game and be quite effective.

This hull is the Reaper Sub, lets face it, alot of players hate subs. I have two fleets, between the two fleets, i can open salvage, clear super mines, hit drac bases, Fleet vs Fleet, even prep/hit bases with them.

all of this being done for little damage, and if done right, no damage at all.

Last few raids i did not coin much, didnt have to. I had a fleet fully capable of doing the A sets with little to no damage.

Fleet 1 - Assault B Torps

Fleet 2 - Downpour Missile

Drac Bases i use both fleets, Torps to clear out the outside fleet and all sonar, then the downpours to take out every gun in the base, thanks to the having to stop to fire, i can remove every gun leaving nothing but the buildings for a point fest at the last hit. (two of the drac base designs, the ones with the nemesis locked up, require a little more prep, as the nemesis will offer the sonar for the subs to be seen, but nothing a Spectre with bat3 can not handle to get a line into where the nemesis are to get the gate.)

Fvf - The assault torps rock, very seldom do i lose fvf, its a rare event when i lose then with them completely healthy, last time i remember losing a fight straight out of the gate was cause someone using a rocket and rogue crew.

Salvage i can do anything for no damage even 75 elites

Super Mines, i would use the Downpour fleet, the sonar that the DNX has is not that good even with the con of the weapon of dropping cloaking. But its also got part to do with the setup.

Base Prep, course we all know the downpours will be used. the ability to prep out turrets without hitting anything else. Depending on the base you could actually hit a base with em too, may not do 100% but still 50% and OP well in range.

Missions- both fleets you could do 65's. I do not use both as i have a fleet that does it much faster for about the same damage using other means, so its just a matter of how long it takes. Like the drac bases, you have to remove the sonar out, ships and Torpedo towers to use the Downpours on the guns.

The ships can be removed is a two hit process (spectres can do this, not sure of Cudas)

Enter from the South and 4 ships should be reachable, two will come at you, then one comes out from the southeast, and another tries to come along the northern side

once this are gone retreat and enter from the North and repeat the process.

Fleet 1

7 Assault B Torpedos

4 Zynthonite D2-S Armor

Caterpillar Drive 3, Speed System 3, and Stealth Attack 3

Fleet 2 (requires shipyard 2)

2 Downpour Missile 2

5 Downpour Missile 3

4 Zynthonite D2-S Armor

Strike System 3, Caterpillar Drive 3, Battery 3

PS.. For those who dont have shipyard 2, i believe three 2's and four 3's should be fine.

if alot of people ask, i will make a video

Subs have higher repair rates and players have to really master them to use them effectively.

Besides there are many must have hulls out there. I bet my outdated Battlecruiser fleet could kill your reapers.

Don't use Level. Use Tech when describing players. Level means nothing, its all about tech.

i can not remember the last time a BC fleet even came close to beating my Spectres let alone the reapers.

I am not saying the BC will kill all sub fleets but my BC r5 fleet with d4p armor sonar gs does give a lot of subs a good run for their money I eat cudas alive pretty regular and a lot of specs have not tried them against reapers yet though

against most players i will agree, i am not most players, i will say i am one of the best of the best when it comes to subs. Cudas are easily beatable due to the time they are submerged, plus the weight limitations make them weak compared to the Reapers. Reapers are a Cuda on steriods that also stay submerged longer.

i use a different build for fvf.  a full health fleet never ever ever loses to inters, rays, or BC.

    speed 3, cat3, eng upgrade.

    all B torps

    4 x D2V armor.

Are you fking serious here? The Reaper sub? That sub is so pathetic that nobody ever uses them much anymore namely for the fact that it doesn't fully submerge which means it gets hit no matter what, and with the surface weapons the sub has to stop which means it takes damage even more.  The reaper sub was one of the worst additions to the game as if they were that good, you'd see the map flooding with them, but I have yet to see one since their inception.  What you're saying here can be done with specs or cudas.

Sure the most efficient way to get them coins is to use Lord Daemonicus' credit card. :)

There is absolutely no way you can beat cudas if they are built properly, not with just bc. Unless of course you are facing complete idots.

You can tell this guy is a troll as he doesnt even know what specials are what.  Stealth Attack System already has a small part, if you will of the Caterpillar Drive, so why in the hell would you put those two specials on the same ship? Not to mention the game won't allow you to, as it's like trying to put engine or thrusters on a hull when you've already got speed system on them.  Like I said, troll.

this is a 65 i was prepping for a friend, but the process is shown, using the torp fleet to get the torp towers and ships out then the rest as you see here, I left the bombards, Disrupters, and center for a friend seeing he can outrange everything and out run the mortars that i left

That's an outstanding strategy. I wasn't able to get any sub in the past but this raid I think I'll have the right fleet ready to get as many points as possible.

The 2nd fleet may serve your better if you use Siege Targeting with V armor (remove Cat3) - it will only work in one style of drac base - but will work in something that pays way more... *wink wink nudge nudge*

true Orcus, but remember, i will also use this fleet in prepping bases, sonar on the forsaken side can be beat for the most part of it, unlike the drac bases that have an outrageous range. though you are right that design would be better for a "Drac Base Only Design"

Daemonicus, clearly you are joking. I have beat every Reaver raid with my reapers. Top prize every time in 2 lazy days. 0 coins. The reaper is by FAR the best sub. Specs can clear fleets, sure, but they can't prep turrets. The reason you don't see them is because people aren't willing to put the time into them. I built mine with assault b, stealth 3, speed3, cat3, d2s. I've not built the downpours, so I can't attest to that build. However....the reason you don't see them isn't because they suck, but that players listen to the negative hype about them and disregard them based solely on what a few negative nancies say.

And for coining 65s? Umm....ever here of mercs? Take your time, prep the hell out of them. You can retreat in strongholds. Do them bit by tiny bit. There is no reason whatsoever for anyone to ever coin the weekli

Yeah I'm looking for the right spec/merc tactics for hitting 65s. Hope to see some tips somewhere. :p

The way I did it before I got Nukes was a bit brutal, and took 2 goes, but I didn't have the patience to retreat and re enter. My merc specs are 2 siege v, 2 hail b, 2 phalanx 2, gs3, strike 3, mc3, d3e. Not the best ship in the arsenal, but **** do they pack a punch for a tier4 hull. On a side note, really hoping hulls like the merc, mauler, and mako make it to tier4 in the weeklies. They are epic little boats for the up and comers.

nope i seen it, was just saying why i built my fleet the way it is, with limitations on the amount of ships and how long it takes, i rather have multi usable fleets. Was just explaining why i have mine that way :)

Thanks for the good write up on the reapers... I need subs and this raid I will be getting a better sub. I always hear the negative about the reapers this is the first positive thing I have heard.

I don't have a good sub hull, and was hoping to get one this raid.  I played with builds for them all, and thought that reapers looked the most versatile, and flat out the most dangerous.  Only thing worrying me was many players negative attitude towards them.  Thank you for the insight.
