Im not saying that sending 100s of apoc fleets into a base to kill it is spamming its just that the base is too tough for the attacker per se.
But sending hundreds of harriers or other low class ships to hit a base knowing that wont work just to bug the host or just holding the base of the player with no intention of attacking now that aint cool.
Now if u hav any so called "evidence" proving that u guys havnt done what was clearly stated above post it here.
Hardly DOA i have been spammed as much as anyone if we get spammed we just just send the farm fleets in for cover its not hard to adapt to if you have half decent teamwork.
And thats kind of the point alot of people who have been banned or had harriers removed were either counter spamming or creating a channel for the basers to get in planet.
Kixeye are advertising this as a war game,,,,, if were being pedantic, lets look at the word 'War'
War
noun
1.
a conflict carried on by force of arms, as between nations or between parties within a nation;warfare, as by land, sea, or air.
2.
a state or period of armed hostility or active military operations: The two nations were at war with eachother.
Now lets look at military operation and warfare attack types
Air superiority – Essential to a successful air campaign. It is achieved by 1) mastery of the air, 2) attacking the means of production, 3) maintain battle ourselves, 4) prevent the enemy from battle
Attrition warfare – A strategy of wearing down an enemy to the point of collapse through continuous loss of personnel and matériel
Battle of annihilation – The goal of destroying an opposing army in a single planned pivotal battle
Bellum se ipsum alet – A strategy of feeding and supporting an army with the potentials of occupied territories
Blitzkrieg – An attack that uses concentrated force and rapid speed to break through enemy lines, named after the GermanWorld War II strategy
Blockade / Siege / Investment – An attempt to cut off food, supplies, war material or communications from a particular area by force, usually taking place by sea
Coercion – Compelling an enemy to involuntarily behave in a certain way by targeting the leadership, national communications, or political-economic centers
Counter-offensive – A strategic offensive taking place after an enemy's front line troops and reserves have been exhausted, and before the enemy has had the opportunity to assume new defensive positions

Countervalue – The opposite of counterforce; targeting of an opponent's cities and civilian populations
Decapitation – Achieving strategic paralysis by targeting political leadership, command and control, strategic weapons, and critical economic nodes
Deception – A strategy that seeks to deceive, trick, or fool the enemy and create a false perception in a way that can be leveraged for a military advantage
Denial – A strategy that seeks to destroy an enemy's ability to wage war
Distraction – An attack by some of the force on one or two flanks, drawing up to a strong frontal attack by the rest of the force
Encirclement – Both a strategy and tactic designed to isolate and surround enemy forces
Ends, Ways, Means, Risk – Strategy is much like a three legged stool of ends, ways, means balanced on a plane of varying degree of risk
Exhaustion – A strategy that seeks to erode the will or resources of a country
Feint – To draw attention to another point of the battle where little or nothing is going on
Flanking maneuver – Involves attacking the opponent from the side, or rear
Heavy force – A counterinsurgency strategy that seeks to destroy and insurgency with overwhelming force while it is still in a manageable state
Human wave attack – An unprotected frontal attack where the attacker tries to move as many soldiers as possible into engaging close range combat with the defender
Incentive – A strategy that uses incentives to gain cooperation
Indirect approach – Dislocation is the aim of strategy. Direct attacks almost never work, one must first upset the enemy's equilibrium, fix weakness and attack strength, Seven rules of strategy: 1) adjust your ends to your means, 2) keep your object always in mind, 3) choose the line of the least expectation, 4) exploit the line of least resistance, 5) take the line of operations which offers the most alternatives, 6) ensure both plans and dispositions are flexible, 7) do not throw your weight into an opponent while he is on guard, 8) do not renew an attack along the same lines if an attack has failed
Interior lines – Placing ones forces in between the enemy forces and attacking each in turn in order to allow ones forces to have better communications and allows one to mass all of ones forces against a part of the enemies
Limited war – A war in which the survival of a nation is not at stake
Penetration – A direct attack through the enemy lines, then an attack on the rear once through
Periclean strategy – The two basic principles of the "Periclean Grand Strategy" were the rejection of appeasement (in accordance with which he urged the Athenians not to revoke the Megarian Decree) and the avoidance of overextension
Persisting strategy – A strategy that seeks to destroy the means by which an enemy sustains itself
Pincer ambush – A "U"-shaped attack with the sides concealed and the middle held back until the enemy advances, at which point the concealed sides ambush them
Pincer maneuver – Allowing the enemy to attack the center, sometimes in a charge, then attacking the flanks of the charge
Punishment – A strategy that seeks to push a society beyond its economic and physiological breaking point
Rapid Decisive Operations – Compelling an adversary to undertake certain actions or denying the adversary the ability to coerce or attack others.
Raiding – Attacking with the purpose of removing enemy's supply or provisions
Refusing the flank – Putting the minimal number of troops required to hold out against an enemy attack while the rest of the army launches a counterattack through the enemy flank
Separation of insurgents – A counterinsurgency strategy should first seek to separate the enemy from the population, then deny the enemy reentry, and finally execute long enough to deny the insurgent access
Scorpion attack – A pincer attack that is supplemented by an air strike
Shape, Clear, Hold, Build – The counterinsurgency theory that states the process of winning and insurgency is shape, clear, hold, build
Siege – Continuous attack by bombardment on a fortified position, usually by artillery
Shock and awe – A military doctrine using overwhelming power to try and achieve rapid dominance over the enemy
Swarming – Military swarming involves the use of a decentralized force against an opponent, in a manner that emphasizes mobility, communication, unit autonomy and coordination/synchronization.
Theater strategy – Concepts and courses of action directed toward securing the objectives of national and multinational policies and strategies through the synchronized and integrated employment of military forces and other instruments of national power
Total war – War in which a nation's survival is at stake
Turning maneuver – An attack that penetrates an enemy flank, then curls into its rear to cut it off from home
argued that a brilliant general was one that could win without fighting
OK so all of this is accepted as warfare stratagies, tactics, attacks and opperations...... lets see what will be concidered spam.......
Air superiority - We have more fleets than you and will keep bombarding you till you reloate. Blockade / Siege / Investment - holding them up, i think we've coverd this. Counterforce and CounterValue - Taking out enemies base targeting there ability to repair. Denial - Taking out there ability to recive or retrive res. Distraction - tiny fleets holding up larger ones so the main attack can take place. Exhaustion - similar to denial Persisting strategy - similar to denial and exhaustion Punishment - Keep hitting untill they relocate Raiding - AKA Farming
and my Fav
Win without fighting – Sun Tzu - Wining without fighting, keep them held so they are incapable of hitting anything or anyone. untill the relocate.
These are all accepted as War stratagies, tactics and so on the world over, and many other games recognise this
You advertise as a war game, not a carebear twinkle toes rainbow nanny farm.
Frankly speaking i dont think sending fleets one by one to a base to kill it is spamming. It can be done with or without coining.
Sending small fleets of harriers to base to just hold it and do nothing now thats what can get u banned. I dont knw what happend to the guy that got banned, either he coined his apoc fleet of send in some harriers but if what he did resulted in giving the base a bubble , then the ban was not required.
And by the way XiFE SoP what will you do if u hav an idiot hold your base and damage your fleet bay so that u cant release your fleets to kill this so called "spammer" (even though i donot think thats the right term for it) and he keeps on doing this for the rest of the day ( ive seen such idiots trust me).
I have never upset anyone enough for them to do that however i would agree that would warrent some kind of action. But lets be honest thats not whats going on here the people who are sending these tickets in are in their planet with about 30+ players its tough enough to get in with a base fleet with counter spam/fvf fleets, there is no way they could not prevent that happening.
This is in response to suffering from a perfectly good tctical use of insta repair ships.
The truth. We are only allowed to sit there and let players who exist under imbalanced fleet power with an artificial maximum level of 41 attack us in the only way they can imagine or they cry-cry. The hypocrisy is, it's only spam if it's instant repair. Spam your coined fleets all day.

Still i dont say any tactic to hit a base and kill it is considered to be illegal in the game and i support it in my comments.
This thread was started asking if scouting a base can get u banned and it has gone way over that topic to something completely different and unnecessary.
I am a coining carebear and I must say the attitude of the moderator in this post and the GTFO attitude is exactlly why this game is going downhill. You pick and choose what is bannable in this game based on the whines and cries of those who pay to get their way.
You do not see the fact harrier spam is a tactic that is viable and is no different than a beta player pushing 6 apoc fleets out over and over thanks to the coins. Only it is the non payer or lower lvl payer who gets screwed because you don't make enough off them.
The utter disrespect to your player base by the moderator and not willing to see both sides is, for a better word - "utter bullshit"
Xife you did a very skilled hit on my base the other day and that's great. Your a great fighter and that's what we all want to do. If you use blockers during a raid that's tactics. But when those blockers are still there an hour after the raid is over that's just ridiculous. What I don't understand is you love to fight but these actions stop the fun.

What you mean to say is it's no fun FOR YOU. I take pride and pleasure locking up an invader in my sector so a big player can come and give him a real fight. Why do you DoG's expect a red carpet to our bases? It's just silly the privilege you expect over other players, even other coiners.
Question: Did anybody get banned for continuously sending in harrier fleets to base or got banned for symply holding a base. The thread topic dont signify both.
Not really.... Everyone has kept it on topic... if you want to go over topic. why is spamming illigal but verbal and digital herrasment is allowed with only a 2 day chat ban? My girlfriends modeling page was plagued with inappropriate comments because a member of a clan decided to copy the images and post then on other pages, and continuing there nasty comments in game, resulting in my GF being braught to teers, her page removed to stop the abuse and weeks of work lost. all because a **** little teenager hasnt seen another woman bar there mother. now why wast this player banned from the game despite screenshot after screenshot after screenshot from over 10 other players aswell? because that player just happens to be one of the top coiners in the game.
I know of 1 who got banned holding a base and I "agree" but we also have a few banned in 2600 for spamming "IN SPACE" and having low lvl ships removed. That is over the top and game ender for all but bully clans

Everybody uses small fleets to delay attacking fleets and wait for bigger fleets to come. and i say that kind of tactic is alright in game and nobody should get banned for it.
I wouldnt say using harriers by a high lvl guy to hit bases just to annoy the host is a great tactic but it also shouldnt get you banned.
Ziltoidia 9 u might want to read the description of the topic . The doubt was if scouting can get you banned not spamming. Just got the thread topic wrong.
you know what im done with typing, im going back to the game and play how i have been. If im banned then its just as simple as contacting a solicitor and trading standards to retrieve my money back, at no point have i been aware of any in game guidlines, terms or conditions or rules, and untill i retrive an email containing said terms and conditions including payment terms, and agree to it. i will continue how i want to play.

You do realize that I too am a player right? And where do you get these illusions that the game is going downhill? The numbers for VEGA Conflict are not decreasing. I do see both sides of the argument. I see the players that use a game exploit, and the players who do not. It's my job as a moderator to make sure that the rules of the forums are being followed and the rules of the game as well. I don't have to have an opinion that you like, I am not here to be your friend nor do I care to be. Being a friend to you or anyone else is a secondary objective that I do not hold precedent over my job as a moderator.

What About Endless coined Apoc Spam? Same Exploit right?
Oh you mean the totally armored tanks of revs that people put in their base fleets to trick the AI which is the only thing running your weapons in a base attack. Which let you sit there and watch your base get pummeled and you can't even target the other ships so your CM's will actually fire on a ship that's doing damage. Yeah the big ISA clans love those cause it allows them to kill bases without a lot of effort.

Yes, that's the same exploit IF those Apocs are sent there to not do anything other then hold up the base or if you just consistently spam the base to damage it, but I think that it leans more towards ineffective instant repair fleets.

Yes I agree with that. Though I don't think that's a big concern as most players don't find it a problem.

Spam will be always fought. If you do it expect it to not work for very long. these devs are active and hate loophole finders like you guys.
Well lets hope they take an equal interest in no weapon decoys which Arguably are a more relavant game exploint that no one is whining about.
Yea that is arguable, I don't see decoy use as being a game exploit.
