Seriously? Who made you the forum police? I certainly don't see "CM" next to your name.
The strategy discussion is exactly the forum for someone to ask something like this. So, STFU;GTFO.
Smithky, first, the answer to your question really depends on the tech you've unlocked and the defenses your opponent has. If you have Longbows unlocked, you can out-range Thermal Ray Turrets loading them destroyers with Rail or Gauss (preferably Gauss) drivers. The idea is to use the range to "snipe" the laser CM's without taking return fire.
Of course, if your target has any of the higher level turrets, things get dicier...
The ships are not maxed on weight so that 3 of them can fit in a lvl 5 ship bay. This fleet can be build with everything level 5. It will usually be capable of 100% low 20s bases unprepped by circling around them to avoid enemy fire by keeping in motion. Keep your ships well separated and controll them individually so that the second ship does not take the fire aimed at the first. The level 2 shockwave shield makes them a bit squichy. When you get too close to a laser, stop moving or make a sharp turn, your ship dies really fast. Good practice for your base destruction skills though. It is important ot realise that your ships range is only slightly longer than that of enemy lasers. When fighting lasers, make sure you are only just close enough to have your range field touch the laser. As soon as you move closer and the field moves over the midpoint, the laser will shoot at you and kill you in a few shots. Meanwhile, you must keep moving to prevent other guns from hitting you. If you do this well though, you can destroy a base without taking a single hit. Low level bases have nothing to stop this. As an alternative to hex missiles, if you dont yet have those, you can also use gauss. In that case it is advisable to combine them with irridium magnet 2 if you got those. This will prevent the gauss guns from shooting at a module again and wasting a shot when the previous shot is already lethal but still in transit.
This is what i would advise to be your first serious baser fleet. Since upgrades and researches all take very little time at this level, even if you dont got the stuff used here, youll probably have it tomorrow. If you really cant wait, use longbows with rail/gauss as suggested above.
Although SAS came off a bit strong, I can understand his offense to the term 'insector' used in the OP. Insectors are not a problem. They are a fair reality. And SAS's solution was a fair one - get some sector mates to help you.
That said, at a level that extremely low you can easily handle most things with Harriers in FvF. For bases you just want to use the biggest tech available to you and perhaps prep his base first. projectile/torp Rancors or blitz beam exos with lots of shields or even snipe with Destroyers and MD 1s.
I really advise against blitz exos though. Laser defences wich are plentifull at the low levels laugh very hard at blitz exos. Blitz exos are what allow me to laugh at players 5 levers higher who dont even manage to bubble me. They suck donkeyballs really.
Until you get to the point where bases have shields, rancors can pretty much 100% any base with little damage taken. The level of your shipbay allowing 3,4 or 6 rancors allows you to 100% around 22s, 24s, 26s respectively and reliably. Higher if they are bad bases. After that they start having shields and higher level plasma so you need to go prepping and thinking about different tactics maybe.
Cheers for the advice and SAS it says strategy section so coz im a lot lower lvl im not allowed to ask for advice ?? but to everyone who replied cheers i just unlocked the long bows and tried the long range with strafe thrusters works a treat thanks all

This is a FORUM where players get ADVICE or what is the point of having a forum?
1) Pretty sure SAS is an alliance, so Mixy would be the name to refer to 'them' (sounds like a 'her')
2) The OP put some really vague 'help me kill someone in particular' thread up which serves no one any purpose since we don't know what was used to attack, nor do we care that someone was hit by someone else. And since there already are a ton of threads on builds it makes no sense to duplicate. In any case, this guy really would benefit from a 'live' conversation more than a thread since he could get instant feedback and watch some demonstrations by spectating battles.

agreed i think sas is in over his head
83,337 players online and which i went through the forums and there was no post on here about what i was asking so i made one
