Hey guys, I wanted to talk about DPS. I've compiled a list of the ship weapons sorted by best DPS to lowest DPS per 1 mass. Some things aren't super surprising - such as Torpedos claiming 3 out of the 5 bottom positions. This list doesn't take into account modifiers, and of course things like plasma battery when it misses. This is just the data taken straight from the game of the weapon mass and it's dps put against a ratio, but this might be a good time to discuss the best dps weapons and the included variability of some weapons missing compared to beam lasers and the new modifiers.

beam1 has a mass of 30T with DPS 10, that is per 1 mass 0,3 DPS and not 3.
Torp5 is 40 DPS with mass 1525T, that's 40 : 1525 = 0,026 DPS per 1 mass
And thats for all the weapons. Its DPS : mass.
What you do is Mass : DPS. You not talk about x DPS per 1 mass but x mass per 1 DPS
Correct me if im wrong..
Heavy polarons do miss, I've dodged them using hawks and while sniping with broads.

The more important issue here is that Heavy Polaron Beams are TERRIBAD and should never be used as opposed to ship Polaron Beams which can actually play an effective roles in dealing with/ discouraging frigate-type attacks on heavier cruisers or battleships
Also, Curtis is right on target about the issue.

DPS is damage per second. It has always been damage per second in every single game ive ever played. No one cares how much damage per shot but when damage per shot is displayed as a stat its simply displayed as "damage:( insert number)" .
On another note i find the ability to tank( or avoid) damage to be a lot more useful for a strategy than the typical "glass cannons" that work in most games. It seems raw firepower isnt as important in VC as survivibility.
Have you actually tested this ie put a talon with a pulse 5 against a talon with beam 3, same armour and shield?
