There's a thread on here with a vid on how to take those bases with basic units such as buggies and razobacks, look for it. 

I use buggies and cobras.  Tons of buggies.  They are quick heal.  

I have event units but I think the best is using full upgraded rocket bugs they are very fast effective and repair time is quick when you destroy the bunkers with them you must put anti air units for the drone silo then destroy the dronesilo with RObugs and follow this formula you must reckon that you make waste en mass for the mortar, cryo and hellfire systems

I'd like to ask... What's so special about rhinos that everybody uses them on SS bases? Do they do bonus damage to bunkers/strongholds/towers? Or just because you can deploy high numbers? Do you need elite?

Not true. find one with 4 watchtowers. Hit watchtowers furthest from drone silo with rocket buggy spam, takes 2 or 3 plats each with level 8s +, then use air to take out lazers and plasmas that were guarding the towers. Then use 1 paladin to bait cryos while your razors destroy the cryos, mgs, and flak on that side. One more plat of buggys to take out aa vehicles then you can hit the cc with air from the corner. Only losses are instant repaired buggys and 1 paladin. Takes patience but easy.

i dont understand why some people seem to think that units that have long range are only way to destroy defences with reasonable or no losses. Little bit of creative thinking and tactics and you can do it many different ways. I think reason is no one thinks for themselves and just go with the obvious choices. JUST THINK and TRY different approaches
