This is just the next step in the teetering tower of precarious balance kixeye has been building for a year. The problem with this one-upsmanship is that eventually you one up yourself with a nuke and blow your own self up.
Kixeye will do this next: after giving the heavy coiners about a week or two to run rampant on everyones bases with this special they will release layered walls, Level 5 turrets and Level 6 OP with 2 more turrets. Possibly more land too. Once again the "middle" players will get the splintery shaft in their holes and many a dead base will be found.
Simple solution: vote with your coins. Make yourself heard on the forums.
I trust Liams judgement on this and I know that in my current base setup a guardian in place of my dread will make my base a complete ****, and people without top fleets and this special on them need not apply.

i thought that was hilarious. lets see that same MOD get into any good base without a modern fleet or defend his base with an old fleet. Seriously. Some of them work hard but others really need to take foot out of mouth and just close their yap. I am happy, I do not have to scrap my blitz DNX fleet anymore...... I think 4 of them will be awesome.
The drac bombard is probably around the corner. However you mega coiners (cough liam cough cough) only encouraged them to make changes like this at this speed. They know your ego demands that you pay out the **** to maintain your status.
I'm sorry but I want to know who the **** threw common sense out the window. Kixeye is becoming more like MTV less music (common sense) and more stuff about 16 years getting pregnant (idiotic overpower ****). I mean really it's going to be a coin fest for anyone who doesn't have level 5 walls, that is even if they hold up to the new specials. These new specials basically put any base hitting hull in the game on STEROIDS.
Base hitting wise these things are overpower, but what about the use of them in the draconian bases....hmm?
I see many sides to this special. But before I make them I should get some things out. That way if I'm wrong someone can help me instead of insult me.
First, I have not yet built a fleet to hit bases. Its a very in depth part of the game and I am still trying to finalize my raid and general purpose fleets. Second, while I do have some experience with hitting bases it is limited. Now that that's stated, here is what I see...
- This special allows for more varied base hitting in both fleet design and specialization. While Liam99-DOG has listed some of the "power" fleets used to hit a base, this special is also useful on the less powerful ships. Battleship, Mercury, Hammerhead (most if not any variant) and many others can now be utilized more successfully with the addition of this special. It may not "melt" a base as fast as a Strike Cruiser X, but it will still hurt.
- This special is available to almost any player in some form or another. Tier 1 would be difficult but doable by almost any play that has finished the tutorial portion of the game. That being said it may help to even some of the unbalanced feelings that many players seem to have. Not that I grant every troll, flamer, and lazy **** whiner on the forums credit to a lot of their bemoaning, I do feel that there is a small portion of legitimate aggravation on the part of some players. I don't feel its the fault of the higher level players, if you are a 60 and you see a 40 its completely acceptable to me for you to hit them. It is a part of the game and if not accepted by the recipient the they should consider a different game. At the same time, this special allows that same player to return fire with a "bigger stick" then before. Perhaps that 60 will be less excited to attack another base for easy resources if they run the increased risk of losing the battle in their own base. Now I understand this is a fallacy in many ways, it's unlikely a 60 would be destroyed my a fresh 40, but now its a little farther away from that impossible line.
- There is more to a good base then turrets. I am of course referring to design, placement, and guard fleet. This new special will make hitting a building much more successful but has no effect at improving damage against the guarding fleet. This special may bring about new ways of designing guard fleets that haven't been needed before. "There's really no reason to refit my guard fleet because it does a good job" may not cut it now. Players may now have to think outside the box for handling the DNX fleet that comes in next time.
- I have been told many times and have accepted as true that there is no "unbeatable" base. And from what I've seen, Kixeye has gone out of their way to ensure that this remains true. From not implementing diagonal land tiles to repairing base attack glitches more aggressively then most other glitches, Kixeye has proven they do not like the idea of a no entry base. It seems to me that this special only solidifies that idea. The question in this is, why is this bad. If you had a truly unbeatable base, why would you ever change it. You never need to change your guard, only repair. You never worry about losing time on something, you never lose the building. In essence it's like may thing that are asked for by people, its not always what we need.
I completely understand that this is a "wall of text" and many will either simply pass it up or chose to insult it. For those that both read and understand the intent, I would appreciate some helpful feedback. I have stated already that I am rater inexperienced with this aspect of the game and may there for be so abysmally wrong that I should delete my base and find a big **** rock. I would like to think however that I have been able to gather some knowledge as to this part of the game and there for feel confident in my assertions.
1.) I'll never complain about getting hit. I don't like hitting bases simply because I think it's boring and a waste of resources. 2.) I have coined a total of +190 gold. This does make me a "coiner". Coining is not cheating. If, like me you can't really afford much then don't but complaining won't help you either. 3.) Being polite is always better then being an ****. 4.) At the end of the day, it's just a **** game. Get over it.

well its been 8 months since i have posted here I know many of you MISSED ME i have said it once I have said it 1000 times... quit ya **** crying ... use ya brain and a little skill spend some $$$ on the raid and ya base will be just as hard to crack as ever... its as simple as that... THERE IS STILL NO I WIN BUTTON IN THIS GAME, the ones that feel that way hate change and dont want to move forward... Now with that I will big you all farewell. A difference with sacrificing and assualt ship for an arbiter with Siege Scanner. Was already building a Siege Scanner Hurricane with 4 Shock Q Tritons (reffitting) now this special is just going to make my Tritons even crazier now.

grim not to insult you think that would get close enough to work only applies if its in range long enough most arbs dont get close enough to hit crap and iv they do they wont last long against javs and or halos and gaurd fleet would be toast not effective for basing in reallity this special is taking about adding 75% dmg to weapons any weapon all someone needs to do is take a weap off or maybe 2 for hitting ships and its still got about 50% increase in dmg it will sail through a base

my 2 ship 10 seige B DNX fleet is I think 32K damage per volly A good base with say 4 walls between and aa3 on cerbs it will kill 2 turrets at one time with 2 volly. If there is a BB/HS it take 3/4 volly. I dont have time right now to figure approx armor increase per platform level 1-2-3-4 to make guess on level 5 platforms I would think it would be 15-20K armor then if it has 33% splash or exp res like level 5 walls (I have not wasted tiem on level 5 walls yet) add AA3 to that I think that make my fleet back down to being same as hitting with 10 seige s taking Depending on level 5 platforms I do think that by itself will nerf down these new morts big time. Could be wrong if someone has time they need to see the approx % armor increase between level 1,2,3 platforms and can prob make good guess on what level 5 would be. Level 5 has to be coming as why give walls and not match platforms to that
It just doesn't seem that horrible compared to other specials the more I think about it. +75% damage to buildings, compared to +75% ballistic reload=+75% DPS plus extra range to both buildings and ships, or +33% missile damage to both ships and buildings, or +170% rocket reload equalling +170% dps to both buildings and ships. I suppose I'll have to wait and see if I'm proved wrong.

i know what it means but you could make a fleet of 2/3 DNX with this it has high armor and decent resistance the tactical module has a range of 80 and the morts have a range of 84 so they dont really need to worry about getting too close to turrets
DNX with shock Q's 30 of them plus the new special will be quite the powerful mort creep fleet once again.

I would say this will go through with a POSSIBLE slight nerfing of prizes....What these prizes tell me is that there WILL be level 5+ defensive platforms with 2 specials coming very soon. I always thought there would be a tipping point in the game, and it is here, rt now...The hamster wheel is running too fast folks... Its obvious that Kix went the way of greed... I really thought Kix would go about it smartly by offering the defensive upgrades first, thus enabling everyone to be "ready" for the next wave of weapon upgrades. Thus not causing what were looking at, a LOT of smoking bases until new counter-toys are offered. They think that we will coin our repairs until said weapons arrive, GOOD LUCK ON THAT GAMBLE KIX !!! But again, why change your ways now Kix ? They dont want to kill the game because it is a cash cow the funds ALL the other lame projects, like VEGA, that they create or need to upgrade. Apparently Kix thinks that putting the cart ahead of the horse is a smarter way to conduct business, what they might get in return IS the head of the horse they road in on....
It's not only you can break all bases Liam, but now all noob with no brain and just a cc can walk in any base within a week after the raid with 5 of the new ships as guard. Bye bye Game.
why waste that for the arb when i could use same weight for another dnx with about 20+k dmg then add the new special more effective
im not saying waste it, I'm just pointing out that the new special isn't the end of the world as players could increase their building damage anyway if not as drastic as the +75%. Just helps taking a step back and re-evaluate it, i know how daunting it looks right away
Liam- You are assuming that on a 3 special slot hull someone would either A. Have the weight for this special or B. Give up either Shells 3 or Alloy 3. Use your brain. The only hull this special will work on is Siege rocket Threshers. If you threw this on a DNX hull you would be forced to have to use all medium armor plates to compensate for the weight and shells 2 instead of 3.
your wrong buddy i can already see the builds. i worked them all out before this post. but im not going to post them. a lot of my fleets run gs3 but with this type of building dmaage they would no longer need it, it would be a very easy switch in specials.
my first thought was to dump GS3 on my dreads.....this will free up room. That Shock Q siege B combo is gonna rock now!
this is an opening for them to put armour slots on turrets is all i can see and untill then everyone will be farmed

I've said already that Kixeye will be releasing OP6 soon, they will have to now. 2 more turrets and 2-4 land tiles and possibly another wh (good or bad is a discussion for another thread). Armor slots on turrets would be awesome. Base defense guards with the new **** mort will be great. Combustion sys paired with range will be devastating, even to those speedy threshers.
Kixeye really needs to slow it down, fix the things that are wrong with the game, and give everyone who plays it a chance to catch up. I stopped coining, because it didn't even come close to getting me up to speed. I still have, at the current time, a backlog of 479 days of ship builds. That is 22,922 coins. Lets make this game more interesting and start giving gold as a prize in these raids. I have everything in this game (except Siege B morts). I would gladly do this raid 2 or 3 times for some coins. I would sit at the top of the leaderboards, for coin rewards. I would go head to head with the best players in the game, for coins. Monthly events should be fun, not mandatory (if you don't think they are mandatory, i got a bridge i'd like to sell ya). Weekly missions are pretty much the same status now too. If you choose not to get to tier 3 in those, you are killing your odds of getting the prizes you eventually want.

well this is the end of battle pirates with the triton plus this new special and all ill probly hear is what about weight or some other thing or special who cares about that. put alloy and that and enough resistance armor and our bases are golf courses everytime the bubble drops. now no one that hits 40 will stand a chance were all screwed 40 and up is officially gonna be the worst levels to be at because of this. all you need is a dread x with the alloy that new special and some mortars even with a 2 ship fleet hell even 1 could probly take half a base let alone a whole dang fleet. this will screw alot of stuff up and will make base defense not worth a **** anymore thanks kixeye youve officially broke your fricken game.
hell I see this going on my Siege missile triton fleet....75% bonus and then this seige scanner 3 bonus....now can u imagine being able to use a siege scanner 3 module on a aribit or hurricane too..lol...thats alot of bonus building dmg. As it is I have EW 3 on my siege F tritons---and thats 12% added weight...so im sure I Can find a way to fit the 5% more in weapons weight
