Right-click+Drag Function

I am trying to figure out how to turn my fleet while continuing to go in reverse, and it seems that the R/click&drag function is what I need to use, but whenever I try it, the ships always seem to turn in the wrong direction. Then when I try the function in the opposite direction of how I think it should be, it's still wrong! Is there anyone who can help me with this?

    When you command ships with the right-click drag - your ships turn so they fly forward to the point you select, then they turn to the commanded orientation when they get close.  If you select a point very close to their current position, they will start turning to the correct direction right away.

    Thanks alot Doxy! I think I got it now, just need a little practice to get it right. :)
