Frigate Reverse speed.

CM Dan why was the frigate reverse speed reduced?  I and many people I know on my planet loved the reverse speed of them...so why take that away?

    Because it made them OP...you could take any level cargo with them and take out any other ship

    Lol. We've been saying to enjoy it while you can. Obviously a nerf was going to happen. No game is meant for you to do endgame things within the first hour of playing.

    although we all think kixeye is the big bad wolf their intended purpose wasn't to kick anythings A**. it is nimble and light it is meant to be more of a a light strike ship and a distraction (from my view) and not so much that it is op but that kixeye wants u to play the game fully. if u dont nerf that i could play the entire game for years building a great base and farming res with only the harriers. i personally like the nerf in some ways because it opens up new strategie. for instance put 2 harriers with 4 longbow n use them as distractions. this nerf allows u to open ur mind. whooped whoop u could beat anything. is that really that fun. sure u get to lvl up really fast n all but like really thats not the point of the game. its to have fun, real world is where everything is objective based just live a little. Focus on the journey, not the destination, joy is not found in finishing an activity but in doing it.

    i hope in the future for instance as an event prize something like the old harrier is put out but not as the second ship. this way only skilled players can get it.

    So you are saying that you want your 'I WIN' button cargo capability back, but only AFTER you prove that you do not need it !?

    Res should be easy to get it just seems they are wanting you to take damage for something that shouldnt entail damage, salving should be easy, its base hitting that should be hard, despite my early praise i may be regretting it now

    it could take out every ship but you have to know how to use it properly i still see many people blitzing at them

    Being that this is Beta and we are just testing I do hope that that is not the frigates final change

    They also lowered the DPS of the rail guns and gauss guns.

    BiA i understand that trust me i do and i still love the strafe speed but still besides the point when it comes to the reverse speed

    Exactly! but the controls, are fairly easy, just click click click, oops, no damage. And if the lowbies watch, they'll try to imitate. Hence, a whole group of them now are pro's w/ nothing but Harriers. Sounds cool but it is due to the stats. But if it is nerfed but we still got pros w/ nothing with Harriers, that would be AWESOME!

    But would it be possible to include reverse speed with the combat speed, turn speed, and strafe speed that are already shown for the ships statistics in the naval lab and fleet manager?

    Agreed, show some stats for reverse speed for each hull. As well maybe they could have a thruster special that effects reverse speed. Imo, reverse speed bonus should be included in the strafe thruster.

    no i am just saying it makes life easier 90% of event prizes make life easier. so lets see makes life easier fits in event prize section players like it. put 2 n 2 together.

    HINT FREAKING HINT! Jeebus - I've had to repeat this so much that I've actually had to copy it to my clipboard just to post this in chat, too.

    It's not that difficult. There's a difference between "STRAFE" and "REVERSE". You have a 135 degree firing angle, use it. They "nerfed" it so that your room for error and actual skill put into cheap methods was multiplied. 

    Practice. Use your firing arc. Use your combat navigation to its fullest.
    1. Move all ships (pretty far) away from your enemy (click - not right click).
    2. During this movement, select single ships and move them in a way that puts your ships into a nice formation once they've reached the end of their trail.
    3. Now, in the same direction (directly away from enemy), right click and drag - right click some distance further away from oncoming enemy, then drag to point the arrow that pops up in the direction you want your ships to face (about 45 degrees from facing enemy directly)
    4. Once ships are at your furthest firing range - STRAFE AWAY!
    5. Stick'n'move - strafe, kite and run when needed

    I don't care about easy, nerf the thing it needed nerfing.  What I care about is that it was fun to play with and spin and twirl and dance around the combat map, take away a different aspect (again range it down a bit so you can't kite forever) This would also fix the current strafe kiting that is happening now and if you reduce strafe to counter that instead it will just be a rock to shoot at.  Anyway just giving you some ideas, because it flew naturally and was fun which is what the game needs to be to keep people coming back.

    yea i am with u. when that had a strong reverse speed it was like dancing with other players. pretty cool when it was 2 skilled players. with all the counter moves n different attacks. when they could fly reverse they were graceful n just all n all a fun fighter to use. to me it brought in the aspect of dog fighting. that is non-existant in any other Kixeye game. and anyone who has played games that involve dog fighting know that once u find out how to do it, it is extraordinarily fun to do, either when u are fighting a skilled opponent, or when u r fighting a newbie n decimate a force that is 2x as powerful without taking a hit n blowing their mind lol.
