I don't understand how allowing a level 71 player attack a level 40 base is a more enjoyable playing experience. Personally, I have spent most of my resources upgrading my base to protect it from players 5 levels above me. This has come at the expense of developing fleets to get the great toys that are handed out in the raids.
I agree with CaptRobRoy. I spent time and money mastering a few of the new drac fleets, and because of the whining and a lack of foresight, that effort is wasted. I liked the changes and the challenge. The only thing i did not like and still don't, was dropping 5 level attack restriction over level 40.
I am level 43 and my enjoyable game experience is now reduced to attacking salvs under a bubble to try to pay for upgrades/research before the bubble comes down and I am levelled again by a bully 20+ levels above me.
I cant base hit any more because i lose my bubble.
When my bubble pops my 1 hour life expectancy means my base hit is filling the warehouse of the bully who is about to strike and i wont do that.
Each morning I cant play because of my 4 hour dock repair.
All the enjoyable aspects lost because you turned me into the ugly fat little kid with glasses at school that all the bullies pick on with no way to defend myself. Wow what an enjoyable game experience you are delivering for me.

With the new lvl structure and damage protection, i and many others are no longer able to play the game.
7 attacks in 2 days...never had that problem before you decided to **** the game up.

+1 - I just got 100% levelled for the second time in 48 hours (both at 4pm UK time) by high 50+ players from a game-wrecking alliance that moved into our sector after last raid. I let the bubble from first hit run its course as I need ed resources and was still low on them after the salvage screw-up following Storm Strike, which also left me with empty warehouses and no raid hulls. Now just as I was about ready to start some researches, I've been levelled again (whilst at work) and put out of the game for 13 hours.

I am a new level 42. I tried to play and gather resources but just keep getting attacked. Please readjust your "available targets" I think there are quite a few less. Add me to the minus available target list because I am also through playing.
Ever since this latest update I get attacked as soon as my bubble ends. I was a level 29 and now became level 40. By the time I repair my base and fleets my bubble ends and then I'm attacked again. This was not the case under the old levels. The level 29/40 base attacking rules need to be changed.
I Agree 100% I'm having the same trouble and it sucks. I Use to love playing the game but now am very close to quiting. I Know several people already who have quit. It sucks.

The real issues as I see them are:
1) If you have a life outside of BP, you will not likely see your bubble anymore. 12hrs is just long enough for me to get home from work if I'm attacked the second I leave in the AM
2) Most complaints revolve around build-times and fleet capacity (I have news for those who want heavier fleets, the answer is no. That would destroy the balance that is pretty precarious already)
3) The initial update you pushed nearly destroyed free-play of the game. I could salvage for a gain, but it was negligible and the time to adapt is well over a month due to build times. The updated update, I actually did enjoy the new salvage. I was taking damage if I lost track for a second what was going on, but the rewards were higher for me. Overall the updated update was good for me, minus the fact I won't ever see my bubble again to take advantage of being hit. The no-more bubbles for anyone policy is as broke as the frubbling that was going on.
I have a suggestion that even the whales could handle and the rest of us need to enjoy your game to help resolve some of this...
If you catch your bubble, even just a couple of seconds remaining, you get until your turrets are half-repaired by clicking repair in your base (up to a three-hour extension only), I don't even put out the base defense fleet unless the turrets are at least half done. No sense in that at all. That is the minimum to bring some of the other free players and light coiners I know back. I think 18 hrs is perfect for the 35-49% personally. It lets you have a life and maybe enjoy the game too.
If you do not catch your bubble, you can get the three-hours for a single coin. That will work for my light-coiner friends, but the free-players get the shaft, again.
Auto-repair of fleets: You have to queue and initiate, the resources are not removed from your base until the fleet starts repairing, meaning if you are hit and no longer have the res, the queue goes on hold. If the dock is destroyed the queue goes on hold. This will reduce some tedium without a single alteration to the overall game for those hitting you.
Drydock!!! Implemented as:
If there's an empty weapons-slot you want to fill, you are paying time and resources to open it
If there's an unrelated weapon in the slot, you have to pay time and resources to empty the slot and get it cleared
If there's an unrelated special in the slot, same as above
If there's a related weapon/special, you spend less time/res to change and the cost goes down the closer the weapon is related
i.e. thud-seige mort S + time and res, thud to seige cannon X - time and res, seige cannon s to x would be negligible time and res.
Of course, there would be no reason for the refit in the shipyard to change at all.
This would allow us to speed up builds from old ships for us as we wouldn't have to wait for fleet builds to finish to start the refits. The closer to the final build we are, the faster the refit so the impact on the blueprints and special releases and the like you have to accomplish is negligible. I also think even heavy coiners would use and enjoy this feature.
Oh, and for those new 40's complaining about being hit by 50's, they could and did hit you under the old system. The 33's that are now 55's would have hit you either way. In fact above the old 29-32 depending on the player, the only difference is what fleets they have available to them. The new levels do reflect what should have been happening all along. I cannot say I'm looking forward to the first 70+ to come along and squish me, as i know he has the perfect fleet for my base and knows how to use it, but in truth, I'm a few exp from where he could have hit me under the old set-up anyways. No sense in fighting the inevitable. Take the hits and learn.
An old 29 now 42.. and regarding this new leveling issue.
I made a decision very early on in playing in this game.. no point in having the Rolls Royce Fleet if i didnt have a base to defend the resources I took..so I focused on the design, defence of my base.. and I am now developing a decent fleet with the fire power to take on my peers...
Those who are complaining about 50's etc flattening your bases.. well, not much has changed.. old 44's and below could hit you anyway, the number of those above the old 44 was a tiny percentage and they probably have DreadX fleets anyway, that no matter what you do at our level (29/42) you cant defend against yet..so suck it up.
What you should have done is balance your development and not gone for the best fleets leaving your defences and base weak... so you made a decision to go for Glory with the Fleets at the expense of a poor base... Now you have to take the downside of having a farm for next month of too....
i have no sympathy for old 29's complaining about the level changes.. or for that fact, that we can no longer hit bases in the old 24+ range.... we should have achieved a level of skill, weapons, fleets etc that means we don't need to farm the newbies like so many of you did.
I writting this on behalf of my 16 yr old sn who has been constantly farmed since the changes have aocurred. He is a lvl 44 and is constantly hit, as soon as his bubble is gone by a lvl 57. He has yet to get a complete fleet of Ffs and has no defence against Dreads.
How is this an improvement, plus when he managed to go hit the base he got nowhere as the base was gaurded by a complete fleet of goliaths.
He has now told me (after 16 months of struggle) and the occassional spending of his hard earned allowance, that he is giving the game away. These are the level of players US higher level players need to grow.
I have also observed this happening as well and is really stupid and just bullying. Im a level 55 and have plenty of traget (plus I am a coiner) however if this continues I might have to review my participation in this now rediculous and out of balance game.
I am not going to coin the fleets for my son (he has to learn life the hard way) nor defend him.
Please restore the balance back into the game and bring back the +/- 5 rule.

Attack Range Summary (note all Levels are the new Levels):
Attack range remains at +/- 5 Levels up to Level 39.
Players Level 40 and above can be attacked by any player Level 40 and above.
I personlly think these suck as a level 53+ can come wipe me out and then I am behind the 8 ball again to repair and build up, once the bubble disappears he/she can hit me again and I'm still not able to do anything about it.
Doesn't make for an interesting game if you constantly get wiped out and can't defend yourself, spend all your time recouping lost resources and doing repairs only to be hit again and have to do the same thing over again.

Since the new level structure I moved to a 39.8. Since hitting 40 I have been hit 3 times in 3 days, loosing a total of 34m in resources, and hours of dock, fleet, and base repairs. My base is always improving and I have other 40-somethings test it for me to find improvements. But with the level I am there is NOTHING I can do against attacks from a level 49, 52, and 57, and that's who I have been hit by the last 3 days.
May I suggest an change in your base attack range. Not back to +/-5 on all level but a graduated plan. Under 40 +/-5, 40-49 +/-6, and so on.
Another suggestion, maybe the length of time the bubble last is depended on the damage AND the level of who attacked you. When I get leveled by a 52 they take three times the resources than if I get hit by a level 44.
I've enjoyed playing this game and while I haven't coined in at all some players that I have "invited" to join me have. I'll stick around for a bit to see if there is any change in the attack levels. I won't be inviting any new friends to play and warning those who already are, and below level 40, to the dangers of clearing the level 40 threshold. I would guess that will change their coining mentality.
I hope you consider doing something to help level the playing field for us low 40 level players. I feel I am playing Farmville and I am the crop. Between attacks I race to get resources (thank you for changing that back) so I can make upgrades and defensive changes to my base before my next attack.
Anyway, I love the game. I hope you consider these changes so I (and others) can / will continue to enjoy the game and invite other players to enjoy it too.

kixeye doesn't give two turds about the player who doesn't spend money on their game! the changes are to cater to the people who can afford to fix their bases and fleets by dropping bank. why don't you just make it a monthly charge game? oh wait can't do that cuz then the coiners will have to pick on people their own size! kixeye=greedy money hungry jerks!
There is so much bullying going on now from those in level 50 + against level 40's, that I am fast seeing the end of the game for me. I am a level 37 and it look like I will also become a farm for the higher levels like others are. We are talking player 15 levels higher. I see a level 40 cut off point which is such a shame becuase it was a great game before you made these changes.
Why should I work gathering res for the level 50+ players to come and rob me becuase they can't be bothered to get their own resources ot attack players of their own level like the rest of us below level 40.
There is so much bullying going on I'm afraid this will deter people from continuing the game.
If this continually happens to me I will quit becuase I will not be able to see the point in carrying on being a farm
for the level 50 +.

and old 29 became a new 40 - i do not have a problem with that.
and old 34 could attack an old level 29 - everyone was fine with that because it was +/- 5 levels just as the rules state.
an old level 34 is now a new level 55 - and now everyone has a problem with them hitting a level 40 even though under the old levels it was within the +/- 5 rule?
looking at it this way the only change Kix should make is change the +/- 5 to +/- 15 and that restores things to how they were prior to the level change.
The question is should they do this to all levels or just restict every level 55 and above to +/- 15 or just leave it as it is and you will either get used to it or quit?
Either way I am not worried - what will come will come, if i get farmed I will learn ways to deal with it.

---- And you STILL have not fixed the "view a base attack" or "view a ship to ship" attack that messes up the interface so that one has to refresh to have the screen redraw properly. THIS IS NOT A BROWSER ISSUE, NOR A "LATEST" FLASH ISSUE. SITUATION --> go into view, watch encounter, leave view, screen redraw is slow, populating bases and cargoes and fleets is slow. Sometimes it takes so long one could (if they smoked) have a cigarette and it still would not refresh until one leaves the game and comes back.
They changed the fleets, y'all whined. They changed them back. So now, you noobs think that you're entitled to the high level salvages outside my base, but also entitled not to get stomped on by us?
I have quit the game. No sense in logging in to see my smashed base and set it up for the next guy. My attackers are not even interested in resources. I have been hit by players who lose days worth of repairs on their multiple fleets for my nearly empty warehouses.
It s nearly impossible for my friends to intercept them (which used to be my favorite thing to do). I guess the coiners got sick of their base attack fleets getting sunk by 'inferior' fvf fleets.
I don't mind so much that my base is getting hit - it is the fact that it is being hit for no gain or reason (I haven't attacked players nor been on comms for months). Even worse; it is being hit by heavy coiners whom I have no ability to defend myself against whatsoever. The last hit I took was with two fleets; one all HHs and the follow up was four dread X and a hh. Oh - and a rocket. This was from a player one leven lower than I. He got about 12 mil resources but his hh fleet was sunk and over 50% damage to the dread x. I guess if you coin the repair time is meaningless...
I don't have the special hulls from the tournaments to defend myself - so I get bashed. And bashed. And bashed. And there is nothing I can do.
Even if I had the hulls (and coind their construction) I could not defend against someone who simply outspends me.
It is apparent that Kixeye wants a game of only coiners. I am happy to oblige and have resigned.
I'll watch the forums to see how long it takes to weed out their free players and then close the game as coiners find no more easy targets and start to grief each other. (Before resigning in frustration too)
Who knows - maybe Kixeye will come to their senses first?

I went from a level 29 to a level 37 and i too have been getting smashed... I have been playing a long time but not until recently have i really started playing... I used to pop on once in a while just to collect resources and upgrade something, That being said.. I have really started playing lately and was having a blast in my sector.. Everyone was teaching me how to really play the game IE: Attack Salvos & Bases & set up my base for defense... Now even the best of my sector is lost in what to do.. It took me a very long time to get 3 HH's & 1 BB and with those i cant touch any Salvo above level 32 now and the 32's usually come very close to destroying my Fleet so its actually useless to even attack those since i barely make enough from the Salvo for repairs & time to repair.. What most are saying is true about people attacking bases just to attack.. I have had in the past week my base attacked 4 time.. Each attacker used 4 Fleets to attack my base.. My base Usually destroys the first 2-3 depending on the person.. First fleet gets killed, Send the next & so on.. AND YES, its always the level 40's & 50's doing it... My base is about what a level 29 should have been.. it is NOT a level 37 base and my Fleets is NOT even close to a level 37 Fleet.. You have completely ruined this game with these current changes.. Your going to do the exact same thing that MobWars did.. make Changes for the ones that spend the most money and completely ruin the game to the point you will lose more than half your players.. So if that is what you want then by all means go for it..You have to have a balance between making a ton of money and making the 99% happy & you will have a long lasting game... So here is your choice Kixeye... Make a LOT of money really fast then lose all players and a money making game OR Make a TON of money slowly over a looong period and have a great game...

If you were a lvl 29 you would now be a 40. If you are a lvl 29 now whatever and can't open salvages you are really lacking in knowledge and skills. You should have subs at least that can open ALL sals. You also say you are a lvl 37 but players up to lvl 50 are attacking your base. That is not possible. I think you are full of crap almost nothing you said makes any sense. Talk to the guys in your sector some more watch the videos on how to play and stopping bull **** and whining.

How is this an improvement, plus when he managed to go hit the base he got nowhere as the base was gaurded by a complete fleet of goliaths.
He has now told me (after 16 months of struggle) and the occassional spending of his hard earned allowance, that he is giving the game away. These are the level of players US higher level players need to grow.
I have also observed this happening as well and is really stupid and just bullying. Im a level 55 and have plenty of traget (plus I am a coiner) however if this continues I might have to review my participation in this now rediculous and out of balance game.
I am not going to coin the fleets for my son (he has to learn life the hard way) nor defend him.
Please restore the balance back into the game and bring back the +/- 5 rule.

Attack Range Summary (note all Levels are the new Levels):
Attack range remains at +/- 5 Levels up to Level 39.
Players Level 40 and above can be attacked by any player Level 40 and above.
I personlly think these suck as a level 53+ can come wipe me out and then I am behind the 8 ball again to repair and build up, once the bubble disappears he/she can hit me again and I'm still not able to do anything about it.
Doesn't make for an interesting game if you constantly get wiped out and can't defend yourself, spend all your time recouping lost resources and doing repairs only to be hit again and have to do the same thing over again.

May I suggest an change in your base attack range. Not back to +/-5 on all level but a graduated plan. Under 40 +/-5, 40-49 +/-6, and so on.
Another suggestion, maybe the length of time the bubble last is depended on the damage AND the level of who attacked you. When I get leveled by a 52 they take three times the resources than if I get hit by a level 44.
I've enjoyed playing this game and while I haven't coined in at all some players that I have "invited" to join me have. I'll stick around for a bit to see if there is any change in the attack levels. I won't be inviting any new friends to play and warning those who already are, and below level 40, to the dangers of clearing the level 40 threshold. I would guess that will change their coining mentality.
I hope you consider doing something to help level the playing field for us low 40 level players. I feel I am playing Farmville and I am the crop. Between attacks I race to get resources (thank you for changing that back) so I can make upgrades and defensive changes to my base before my next attack.
Anyway, I love the game. I hope you consider these changes so I (and others) can / will continue to enjoy the game and invite other players to enjoy it too.
Why should I work gathering res for the level 50+ players to come and rob me becuase they can't be bothered to get their own resources ot attack players of their own level like the rest of us below level 40.
There is so much bullying going on I'm afraid this will deter people from continuing the game.
If this continually happens to me I will quit becuase I will not be able to see the point in carrying on being a farm
for the level 50 +.

and old 34 could attack an old level 29 - everyone was fine with that because it was +/- 5 levels just as the rules state.
an old level 34 is now a new level 55 - and now everyone has a problem with them hitting a level 40 even though under the old levels it was within the +/- 5 rule?
looking at it this way the only change Kix should make is change the +/- 5 to +/- 15 and that restores things to how they were prior to the level change.
The question is should they do this to all levels or just restict every level 55 and above to +/- 15 or just leave it as it is and you will either get used to it or quit?
Either way I am not worried - what will come will come, if i get farmed I will learn ways to deal with it.
-- However, why tell us there is an increased blueprint drop rate when many of us have not seen a BP drop for up to nearly 10 days. And when one did finally drop I had to attack a level 51 energy mine and got lucky. Later, 2 different 23 cargoes dropped the same BP!!!

--- The above 40 attack range NEEDS redone guys. It is saddening and ridiculous to watch a level 60 constantly flatten 40s and take their harder earned resources cause he/she can. The equivalent would be to allow the new 30s to attack into the 20s. No contest and ruins the tone of the game for the lower levels.
---- And you STILL have not fixed the "view a base attack" or "view a ship to ship" attack that messes up the interface so that one has to refresh to have the screen redraw properly. THIS IS NOT A BROWSER ISSUE, NOR A "LATEST" FLASH ISSUE. SITUATION --> go into view, watch encounter, leave view, screen redraw is slow, populating bases and cargoes and fleets is slow. Sometimes it takes so long one could (if they smoked) have a cigarette and it still would not refresh until one leaves the game and comes back.

It s nearly impossible for my friends to intercept them (which used to be my favorite thing to do). I guess the coiners got sick of their base attack fleets getting sunk by 'inferior' fvf fleets.
I don't mind so much that my base is getting hit - it is the fact that it is being hit for no gain or reason (I haven't attacked players nor been on comms for months). Even worse; it is being hit by heavy coiners whom I have no ability to defend myself against whatsoever. The last hit I took was with two fleets; one all HHs and the follow up was four dread X and a hh. Oh - and a rocket. This was from a player one leven lower than I. He got about 12 mil resources but his hh fleet was sunk and over 50% damage to the dread x. I guess if you coin the repair time is meaningless...
I don't have the special hulls from the tournaments to defend myself - so I get bashed. And bashed. And bashed. And there is nothing I can do.
Even if I had the hulls (and coind their construction) I could not defend against someone who simply outspends me.
It is apparent that Kixeye wants a game of only coiners. I am happy to oblige and have resigned.
I'll watch the forums to see how long it takes to weed out their free players and then close the game as coiners find no more easy targets and start to grief each other. (Before resigning in frustration too)

If you were a lvl 29 you would now be a 40. If you are a lvl 29 now whatever and can't open salvages you are really lacking in knowledge and skills. You should have subs at least that can open ALL sals. You also say you are a lvl 37 but players up to lvl 50 are attacking your base. That is not possible. I think you are full of crap almost nothing you said makes any sense. Talk to the guys in your sector some more watch the videos on how to play and stopping bull **** and whining.
