Good - all the ones who are out just for annoyance factor (miner sniping, spamming instant repair fleets, etc) open themselves up for attack.
On the flip side, this will kill FvF even more. Rival group rolls in, hits your base, flattens you, doesn't make it, whatever the case. Your only recourse is to salvage for the next 6 hours while your base repairs or pay the hefty sum for a full base repair so you're ready to roll if you want to FvF until they spam attack you again.
Comparing good vs bad... this is a terrible idea. Don't you want people to play your game?????
It is a good start because change is definitely needed however
instead of or along with the 8 hit rule, it should be that if your Dock or LP is Rocketed you receive a bubble for the duration of the repairs (4H dock) (2 Days LP) or seriously consider reducing how much damage 1 rocket does to a LP, 1 med bunker buster very nearly destroys a fully fortified LP, and a LG demolishes it which really isn't fair and rocketing someone requires no skill whatsoever
The rules as currently proposed give a major advantage to the rocket warriors

We lose bubbles if we attack fleets. Extremely against this. Game will go way down for this one.

I'm not so sure about the fleet attack losing bubble either... How about "Attacking a base drops your bubble. Attacking a player fleet reduces bubble time remaining by 1 hour."
So the "buddy bubbles" go away if you attack. Other attacks can be done, but there are still consequences.
needs alliance system 1st befre you do this ......and losing a bubble if u hit somes fleet no you wouldent be able to help any one till your base is fixed

Greeting Captains, weve received substantial feedback from the Community that the current Damage Protection rules foster an environment that encourages Buddy Bubbling. We gone back to the drawing table and developed a new Damage Protection System that we hope balances the game for everyone. Read the details below and we look forward to reading your thoughts.
Why change the Damage Protection rules?
With the current set of rules, players are able to indefinitely hide behind the damage protection bubble by using the Buddy Bubble exploit. Obviously, this is not the desired game experience, and a tweak to the rules can prevent it.
Proposed New Damage Protection Rules
Under the new system, there will be four different instances (two different situations) in which a players base would receive Damage Protection:
When a base has suffered 25% - 49% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 12 hours of Damage Protection.
When a base has suffered 50% - 74% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 24 hours of Damage Protection.
When a base has suffered 75% - 100% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 36 hours of Damage Protection.
When a base has been attacked 8 times in four hours (but suffered less than 25% damage), the base will receive 1 hour of Damage Protection.
For the last rule of Damage Protection, we feel its still necessary to allow players the one-hour of protection for those that are repeatedly getting their docks hit with rockets and/or snipers (SFB3). Also, if you attack another players fleets or base, the number of attacks made against you within the past four hours will be reset to zero and remove the bubble from your base (if already under Damage Protection).
Q: I need to buddy bubble so I can build/upgrade my buildings; how will I make any progress?
A: Theres no challenge in a game where players are immune to penalties. Suffering delays to build times is part of the game; however, there are things that you can do such as relocating to a sector that does not have as much base hitting, or join an alliance where other players will take you under their wing.

What i find funny is that u have made all of these changes to ur graphics and design to attract new players. You want to attract new money i understand that. Then u go and do this and even if u don't think it will, u r going to lose a lot of smaller players over this. Not only that but it will put new players off of the game as well. I think it is sad that u r catering to a few of the big players whose only goal in the game is to bad mouth people in comms and kill lower lvl bases in the same sec. Now u r taking away those lower lvl bases only defense against these types of attacks. i do think that once u get to a certain lvl u shouldn't use bubbles any more. I don't haven't in a long time, want to hit me go for it i like watching flts die in my base. if u get in great just shows me where i need to improve at. But for a lvl 25 base that is getting pounded every other day by a lvl 30 the game becomes no fun. Please do not throw up the relocate plan as being an option, i don't care where u go that is going to still happen. as far as joining a group, please what good is that going to do? What i want to see u do swag is give up ur big base and start all over no toys no spending money on the game and try to survive and grow in this game today under all of these new rules. when u do that maybe we can talk till then let me leave u will a little tid bit i have been hearing in comms and from a lot of my friends who have been hearing it from a lot of their friends, "The game is quickly becoming no fun." which means u r slowly starting to lose ur fan base. soon all that will be left r a few hundred thousand people who like to and can afford to spend money on the game. What will they do when they get tired of hitting each other? Instead of catering to the few ur company should be catering to the many. right now the few seem more important to u and ur company the the average joe, which by the way is the heart and soul of ur game. Not the few who spend lots of money on the game. Sure they pay ur pay check but when the rest leave and no new ones come even they will get bored and leave. Then what was a great game will slowly die. What will happen to ur pay check then? i would suggest that ur company take a long hard look out just what u r planning to do and just how many people this will hurt and the potential for disaster that this new rule will have on the game. Does it make me mad when someone does it yes it does! but it is a part of the game. Instead of crying about figure a way around it so u can hit the one u want. It isn't that hard to do.

As for the dock whiners, put your dock in a safe place, fortify it, and then you're only exposed to BB3, which won't take 4h to repair, more like 2h or a bit less. This is how KE makes money, if you don't want to wait.

Sounds good but would this be 8 times from the same player or 8 times in total from all different players, since the new plan of attack are multi players attacking the same target and taking out a turret each with a Large bunker buster. Since only 1 turret is destroyed in each attack without no other buildings getting damaged then you can almost take out the whole defence
I love the idea, but, the time on the 25% - 49% damage should remain 18 hours. If I log on to the game 2 - 4 hours after an attack and it takes 12 hours for my 1 and only gaurd fleet to repair then I am in bad shape if I was only given 12 hours protection because I would be short 2 - 4 hours repair time on fleet .Unless you propose I replace my gaurd with levi's to protect me against level 34 and 35 players, LOL
IMO I think this will make the upper lvl players keep the lower lvl player permanently out of the player versus player aspect of the game.by hitting their bases we would keep them stifled and out of the way for us to hit the next base over and again,and again,and again etc.... so if we team up and kill a sector off the more we kill the less they will have to fight us back lol. this is gonna be great, good job thank you kixeye!!!!!!!wont take long before no one will be able to hit our fleets and we will have full rein over the sector..no longer would we be blitzing bases we would be blitzing sectors as a whole lmao...pick em off one by one till they all can't do nothing, again lol....

So if get hit hard and my dock repairs, but I still have say 24 hrs protection, I still cant fight other fleets, or my bubble will drop? WTF is up with that, it takes over 6 hours for my turrets to repair, so now I am out of the game for at least that long, or my base is wide open for anyone to hit. Please tell I am reading this wrong, or I am prolly done playing, been close with all the glitches and crashes, this could be it. Can we add something? How about removing the ability for bubbled people to attack fleets? I often see bubbled people attack other people's fleets (I'm not talking about cargo). I'd love to see people be able to go attack that player's base, but they can't because it's bubbled.
so lets say someone hits your base today and bubble you and tomorrow they hit your neighbors base and you see them doing it and go for a chance to catch them..... you want your bubble to go away when you hit the fleet so they can hit you again?
only problem i got is losing your bubble for attacking a fleet you havent had it up to now so why do it. you want us to fight more and get rid of buddy bubbling but all i can see with that is less fighting once again so the map is going to be dead unless your hitting a base

and im afraid what you do only for coining people. First you put away the Defend/attack button--so nobody can defend a friend in sector, you can watch the termination of base and the attacker went out base ten seconds before time runs out and hide back to his base loughing. same with mining fleet and outstanding fleet at bases. Theres no way to defend ppl of 5 lv higher with stronger ship---NO WAY!!!!! I saw an attacker now 3 days ago with last array of tactical lab and killed all--of lv 35 ppl and his bc fleets,too

So clarification: If your base gets smashed and you are bubbled for 36 hours and your friends base is getting attacked and you catch the attackers fleet on the way out of your friends base, your bubble pops because you protected a friends base by attacking an enemy's fleet?
This would mean when my base gets hit and I have a long repair (at least 4hrs on dock or turrets alone!) I can't help my friends until my stuff is done repairing!
I think this is ok, IF, its put in effect with the new level system. I think if you do it before, you will lose many players. A 25 being based bt a 30 has zero chance to grow. Just my opinion.
Sounds good enough for me. But I still don't see the need in the 4th rule though.
Just one rocket every 4hrs will keep you out of the game so they only ever have to use one of those 8 attacks every 4hrs. So the rule seems pointless and therefore unneeded.
Lol I like how most of the ways listed to counter being trolled or little guys getting squeezed out of the game are join an alliance and or recruit friends(alliance) which is a feature they have been promising since I started playing may 2011. So you would tell these low level people to utilize a feature you dont support.. hahaha.. I like the changes to dmg protection but I found that funny.
Here's my two cents, not sure if anyone else posted this in the thread or not because there's such a high rate of response.
I don't mind the shorter bubble times but could you make it so the bubble counter starts when you get to your base? Seems silly to have the bubble for 12-36 hours and the repair times don't change, fortified buildings take a LONG time to repair and if someone hits my base after I've gone to bed and I have work in the morning it may be 18 hours before I get to my base, I may not have a bubble or at least not long enough to do the repairs first.
The bubble has been a 'grace' for me, I always redo my layout after a hit. If I am redoing my layout without a bubble I run the risk of someone hitting me and getting past all the guns because there's a hole in my defense.
I think this may help another issue as well: dead bases, the counter of inactivity seems to restart when the base is hit and who wants to waste their time hitting a base that's empty anyways?
way to go Kixeye, on the whole I agree with your stance except for the attacking other fleets and losing ur bubble, this will cause ppl not to play as much as they will want their bases completely healed b4 losing bubble, less play time means less revenue for u. easy to work that one out.

Of all the changes I think that the one hour bubble is needed to help a player when under the circumstances that you mentioned. However is it possible that if a players dock is hit that they then get a bubble that at least covers the duration of their dock repair? In many instances, especially for those that are higher levels a 1 hr bubble is not going to cover the amount of time it takes to repair their dock.
I also don't think that attacking a fleet should remove a persons bubble. There are many instances where a person will go help a friend who is under attack but are still waiting for their base to repair. If a fleet attack takes away a persons bubble then this person is extremely vulnerable.

What if you get attacked and have a fleet out, and have the chance to catch the guy who just hit your base. With that rule in place you have to let him go or open yourself up to him coming back before you are repaired. You cannot retaliate against his fleets.
