I don't see the point of doing this... yes it does take longer to level up the higher you get as it should. Lets be honest a level 29 can have Du4 and can have all of the same weapons possibly done as I can at a level 33-35 . SO we are on equal terms Do I have something special that he or she does not? I may have more ships because I have been playing longer or have coined is that a bad thing? There are level 29 bases that are better than some 34's bases because of how the player designs the base it has nothing to do with the level of the player. Pretty Much any player over 29- 35+ are on equal terms so why limit who i can hit? Opening up the 850+ rule I don't even care about since I wont travel over 10-15 mins for travel its a waste of time.. and with the new ship to aid speed so what It will still take a long ( Real Life ) time to go attack bases.. I do love the game but staring at a fleet sailing for anything longer than 10 mins to get to a base is just wasting my time. People do have real lives and aren't going to waste an hour to go attack 1 base that could be dead already for all we know..... Not to mention If i just wait a week I can move and go to a different sector and have new targets. Yes you have a new ship that can *AID* in map speed so what I then lose an actual ship and will make me weaker to use it, no thanks... Unless you make map speed A LOT faster this isnt even useful to most players.
Leave the current system in place it works.. It has worked.. I had to go through the gauntlet as did all of the players under this current level system why change it now for some people with poor base design and or skill to dictate how the game will evolve. If you are just trying to get the older players to quit playing so you can have a new cash crop come in you are in fact doing a very good job. I am glad you guys are trying to make the game better by introducing new stuff, and tweaking stuff and even contemplating the leveling system but this Idea is not needed nor wanted by the Majority of the longer playing customers . Don't forget most of the higher level players are your "loyal" customer base.. That have stayed with you over a year or more yes u want new players but lots of them dont spend and also give up the game.. So you are hurting your own wallets in the end.
I dont understand why people who didnt like the original post are now liking this? They didnt change anything to the structure its the same all they are doing is opening up the distance which you can travel so you have more bases to hit.. Still the same plan which wasn't good in the first place. Now you can travel ( wait ) longer or give up an actual boat in your fleet to add one of the (magic) boats that will increase map speed..Um you guys find that as a good alternative? Just leave it alone it works, has worked .. just people who are poor base designers are the ones to complain about the -5+5 thing
A simple solution for the travel times is this, when you set a bookmark for 2 sectors away, your fleet will warp over the first sector. this will make travel times 2 sectors away similar to the travel times now, Hmmmmmm that sounds like the simplest solution. one more issue, there should be salvages numbered in conjunction to the levels so that a lower level player that just built preds cant take all salvages that higher level bases spawn, as for now a level 22 ( old level ) dont have to do much to set researches when higher levels have to work very hard in order to set one research. if we cant hit the - 5 lower bases, they shouldnt be able to take the higher salvages. this would make both higher and lower levels have to work the same for reasearches.
THIS SOUNDS BAD FOR THE GAME im currently lvl 34 so if i cant hit lower then wat do i do as i cant be assed to sail to 1 sector let alone 2 sectors to find bigger bases os simlar lvl why change the way it is wen i was lower lvl they didnt even have salvo to grow and gettin smashed off the big guy was good to learn i dont think this should be changed there are loads off changes in this game and i think for the worse some times just my thoughts but if u r thinkin about sailin further i suggest u reduce map time as it get borin sailin longer than 10 mins ...... also wen the hell are u guys gonna give us some thing use full like another ship yard ??????or if u reduce build times im sure ppl would coin more and would be better!!! dam i use coins but wow id need to take out a second mortgage to fund a fleet off every ship i have !!!!!
Is Kixeye even listening to the concerns of the lvl 29's and 30's who are being shafted with the new proposal.
And no I do not have my turrents or my turrent weapons maxed at a low lvl 30. So dont assume that.
Anyways if Kixeye really wants to implement this new lvl/attack system. I would repeat my suggestion here. Once a player get to lvl 29 then take that (29)basename out of his base name and put (p)basename, so all the bases will have (p) and not the actual lvl. this way the higher lvls will atleast be taking a chance of attacking that base without know what the actual technology lvl of the base is.
I am pretty sure all the high lvl guys will go for this purposal as you guys like the challenge of base hitting and not try to target the lower lvls
IMO, this might still need a little bit more tweaking, but it's definitely a LOT better.
SWAG: I think that you should check at what level most people become capable of earning the main raid prizes like the Goliath and the Strike Cruiser (NOT the ones for being one of the best in the sector like the Sea Scorpion A or Hammerhead . At THAT point is when they should become unable to attack lower levels.
I haven't check with analytics, but from what I have personally observed, if you are at least a level 28 (current system) you should be able to get the top prizes in the events. Now I've seen even lower levels than that get them, but I would say 28 is a good average to go with.

We have all asked for the glitch's to be fix. White screens, Black box's popping up while in game play, nothing but blue water when you come out of your base or salvaging ect. shockwave crash's. flash crash's. Lag on the servers is at levels that players can't even play the game, We have all asked about a 2nd shipyard because you guys have given us more hulls then we can build in a year. The refit times are out of this world. upgrading buildings taking half a month is over the top. When someone puts a ticket in about the game. Stop saying it is the players computer. You guys have pushed the flash player to it's limits on what it can support and need to find a way to get it fixed. We arn't asking for the world from you guys, But we are asking for you to really listen to what the players are saying. The whole salvage number changing didn't need to happen. level 1 through 10 had worked all this time. So why change something that wasn't broke, Now you want to change our player levels, As before lvl1 being a new player to lvl40 if there are any is not a broken problem in the game. What is broken and has not been fixed has been stated above. Going longer distance to hit players is a great idea. But having to wait 40+ min's to get there is the issue. This again will add another problem to the game because your not fixing what is already broke first. Your just putting it off. We don't need numbers changed on bases or salvages. we need and want the glitchs in the game fixed. Now what will happen in the end. I am currently a lvl 28 and I dislike this idea. I belive i should have to go through tought time just like everyone else has. Why give lower levels a free pass? Half the fun of Battle pirates is learning to improve. If we keep it the same like most people want it will be better off.
So, basically Swag, with this "newly improved level structure" I being a level 30 player currently, lose my +/-5 and instead a -2/+9? that's a hell of a difference my friend. And that just means that people who have been playing since the games ORIGINAL BETA PHASE can now mercilessly pummel the ever-living crap out of me MORE OFTEN! THANKS! Also, after the update... Level 30 players like me are going to either A: End up quitting due to getting hit by people we can never regularly defend against, and/or B: Continue playing, staying stuck at the then level of 43 FOREVER with our not so great fleets or even somewhat better than some fleets and have much less to hit in terms of bases - eventually leading to us leaving the game ANYWAY.
If there were a POLL on this - I forever vote it down.
However - still better to a degree than the last "bracketed attempt" - Which, I was actually getting excited about... less brutes coming after the resources I just spent 3 days collecting.

oh stop whining, you survived that worst part (26-29). at 30 you should be building up to have a VERY strong base. there is no difference between a lvl 35 and a lvl 36 hitting you. just the number of fleets.
the 36 will kill ur base and have more fleets to kill bases than a 35 would.

I like the +-2 sector but you can scrap the rest of it.
If your saying higher level players have more experience and should only hit same level player or higher players, I disagree, everyone plays the game different. I have achieved my level mostly by salvaging I rarely hit bases and when I do I take a beating and lose often. I guess I am not understanding who I'll be able to hit from reading the post. I am a 32 which = 48 in the new system.
While I understand adding addition targets for the higher levels. There needs to be a cap. For instance, most 33 and aboves have multiple fleets of HHs, Dreads, SCs and the like. Whereas a 29 (40 in this case) is lucky to have a single fleet of FFs. The time disparage is in most cases 8 month to a year of additional playing time and with this disparage, it is highly unfair. I am not simply pointing out a problem and offering no solutions, my solution is the 10 + or -. Additionally if this is not a viable compromise, how about creating sectors specifically for higher level players. Like super sectors only for levels 60+. Something like that could also work. Just my thoughts.
Your not listening are you? implement this and players will leave in droves inc myself and i spend lot's of money. For players like me lvl 35=59 my targets are still greatly reduced and i will have to travel up to 3 sectors to hit them. With a slow fleet it takes 20-29mins of travel , now ur asking us to travel for over an hour to hit some targets???? What planet are you on. this change would not change who a level 35 can hit..... a current level 35 can hit bases between 30 and 40 a current level 30 base becomes a level 43 base....actually the new system allows a current level 35 to hit a current level 29...if anything the new system give a current level 35 and up new targets in the form of current level 29s....because if you read....anyone level 40 and up can hit anyone level 40 and up.

I give an example..at my lvl and I am a 34 atm..I can only hit 33/34/35...in the new system...
This sucks for me..u have 2 compensate for the bigger levels..When we fight eachother we are looking at repair times off 20 hrs(dread fleet)and for other fleets it ill be at least 10 hrs..
Now if i attack a 35 base i wont get enough res 2 cover the repairs..and the time will kill me in this case..then ill have to take out salvages 2 get res and fight again in 3 days when my fleets are repaired..Then yes im bad i will hit a 29 base for the easy res..srry 29 thats the game..WE ALL BIN THERE..
I really think kixeye is going for the gold now...U want GOLD..then give something back that we can use the gold..

As advanced a level as you are I would think you would be able to READ by now.........................as a current level 34, you can hit from 29 to 39.......under the new system, anyone level 40 and up, can hit and be hit by anyone level 40 and up (the +5/-5 still applies to levels 40 thru 44) so under the new system, you will be able to hit...EXACTLY the same bases you can hit now....THIS CHANGE DOES NOT REALLY EFFECT ANYONE WHO IS LEVEL 34. and anyone who is higher than a current level 34 actually gets additional bases to hit in the form of the current level 29s who become level 40 in the new system.
