being a current level 34, i would move to being a level 55 - correct ? and "Players Level 40 and above can be attacked by any player Level 40 and above." so, am i wrong or can i hit
a new level 40 ? i would not go on a 30 or more minutes (my base fleets - no engine) to hit a base across 2 time zones (sectors). will anything be done for the huge difference in
fleet travel time ?
It is something to consider, but I can't make any promises. Still, you can stack Streamlining 3 and the new speed module for a nice boost.
Using a special ship special slot for streamlining 3 might work if we have a base fleet with ships that have 3 specials. However, people with base fleets consisting mainly of fortress or hammerheads aren't likely to use any type of Streamlining. I just hit level 34 and I finally got the last BP for Streamlining 3 and don't have it on a single ship yet and I wonder how many others have that, like me, didn't get it when it was in the Revenge Raid.
I like the idea of increased attack distances, but I can see people getting frustrated if they have to travel 20-30 minutes longer to find a base they can attack.
Yes, I'm back to playing this game. Someone shoot me.
I have read some of this and not all of it, but the thing I'm confused by......Didn't anyone ever teach you, IF IT ISN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!. I get the reasoning behind this. I see the point, a lvl 33 can smash anyone 28 in the game, at least I'd hope they could. However, the thing I am confused about is why get all drastic, why change the number lvl's why make it so much more complicated then it has to be. You're making a lot of higher end lvls, and higher end spenders to become very upset. This isn't good for business, I'm not sure why anyone would think it would be a good idea to piss off the people who provide you with your income. Especially seeing how most of the people effected by this are the high end spenders, or people who have been playing a long time, and have stuck with the game thru it's high and low points. I really like that you're being proactive and trying to make the game better every day it seems. However, I disagree with the complexity of the change, and the extremeness of the change. It's simple really. I purpose a new 3 up 3 down rule. All the lvl's stay the same but instead of a 33 being able to hit a 28, make it so they have to hit only 30-36. This seems reasonable to me, and it seems pointless to change the lvls all together. There is an easier solution here. I hope that yall can rethink this idea, as I've never heard so many people talk about how they are upset to the point of quitting due to this current change. Please kixeye, rethink this, there is a better solution out there.

Your right you will be able to hit anything lvl 40 and above which is currently anything 29 or higher.
so - "Players Level 40 and above can be attacked by any player Level 40 and above." as a current level 34 = new 55 --- will i be able to hit a new level 40? or did i miss something?
You can always relocate to a sector where there are more targets for you to hit.
Under the current conditions a player can only relocate near a friend. Will kixeye change this to allow players to relocate to any sector without the need of a friend present ?
Will the new levels only effect Base attacks or will it effect FVF attacks as well ?
This new system appears on the surface to be more fair.
Will kixeye address the problem of friendly bubbles when the new system comes into effect?
It's not that I don't think kixeye are not on the same page it's just that the players are reading Sun Tzu Art of war and kixeye are reading Noddies big book of war.

Uh huh, and what % of this post directly addressed the New Level Structure? Anything less than 100% is NOT constructive and does not belong here. The forum rules really are not that hard to abide by.
Swag since my other reply to you was deleted maybe i should put his another way so here it goes.
The new lvl structure is to address a major imbalance in the game correct? Ok what causes that imbalance? the causes are what i listed. thus that makes my post 100% constructive and 100% relevant to the new lvl structure proposal.
MY post wasn't a OMFG KIXEYE sucks post, my post laid out the REAL CAUSES and possible solutions. I know my post isn't the feedback you wanted but its the truth!
So again Swag i have to ask why does KIXEYE insist on concentrating on things that aren't broken and ignore the real problems? Honestly this new lvl structure is just lip service to the mid to low level players and in the long run will actually hurt them worse than if Kixeye left the current lvl structure and +-5 hit range alone.
I do agree that this new proposal is better and isn't as punishing to higher lvls than the first proposal, but it's still not addressing the root causes of the imbalances.
[1] ARRGGGG, so now level 29s can be hit by any higher level??
[2] You guys really think thats a good idea??
[3] Do you have any clue as to how many players will quit playing at lvl 29?
[1] That is what it seems to say.
[2] Not really, but the new plan also does not really change much. Under the old/existing system, a level 29 could be hit by a level 34, which is a pretty big difference. If they fix buddy bubbles and make alliances work, then people should be able to retaliate against such a (old) level 34, and some people just won't attack that far down because it's not interesting. I suggested something closer to level 30 as the mid to high level breakpoint, but they went a different direction.
[3] Who knows, but since it doesn't really change much, it probably would not be that different from the current attrition rate. Find some higher level allies. There are groups out there looking for lower level people to join.
Ok to start i read the post thro about page 8 and all the Red post filtering thro the rest of the 22 pages (sorry it got redundant reading same type of post over and over again)
Yes i love this Idea a lot better. It did address alot of the issues that where brought up in original tread and all the threads that i seen yelling about how bad the first idea was.
Now the only big problem i see is the travel time for MOST base fleets to get 2 sectors over (I know it is being looked into). Swag yes you can stack streamline3 and the arbitor with the navigation pod to get fast, but how effective will a fleet be on a base that has DU4 walls and plats? Sorry that idea is not a good work around. Then you have to think about this 2h travel 12h repair for 5mins of fun?
I do like the sky is the limit for lvl 30+
Another issue i see is that when everyone reaches the lvl 29(40) the problem will be that their base are goin to be very weak and are goin be hit all the time cause they never learned how to layout there bases like the older players did. I still at lvl 32 find lvl 27 base that have all sents and no turns in there channels. When i was growing up they said if you dont have a good base lay out by lvl 25 you are goin be a farm. (i had a good layout but still only had lvl 2 plats) I was farmed abit but once i had my base strong enough by mid 25 i stopped being farmed. I will also say that with this new lvl structure the build times on ships will be more critical cause to make sure your not farmed by lvl 29 you will have to focus on the base and will have weak fleets for base hitting.
To keep this problem from getting worse you may want to cut off exp you get when you bring in cargo and your WHes are full. During raid this is most evident cause you are tryin to get points to get the prizes you bring in alot of res that is not needed (sometimes is for the weaker fleets) getting exp that raises your lvl but not your gaming proficiency. I dont know if you can do this but would fix a big majority of this lvl problem is go back to the lvl data during BI4 and look at before and after and take a way a % of the lvls earned during the BI events that will bring the low lvls that tried to get prizes back to there proficiency lvl in the game. ( dought you can do that but it is an Idea) Another Idea is during the Events
make the cargo you get from the what we have to hit free from getting exp.
Now that i have ranted i will repeat this idea is WAY better than the first one still needs some tweaks but you are listening.
On a side note I love how you administrator are actually providing some live feed back to our questions makes it alot easier to give you guys better feedback.
Current level 29 players are in a much better position to defend themselves. By this point, players should have Outpost 5 (max land tiles & defensive platforms), Stalkers and Sea Wolves; all of which can provide some very effective defense, at least enough to give a higher level pause to think if the reward is actually worth the risk.
I notice you left out the most important part of the game the advanced lab which without say sfb3 or siege mortars etc... we have no chance against a high level player quit blowing smoke we all know better
As mentioned before, increase map speed for all ships by 25%, and double the value of streamline and the new ship that was just created. Looking forward to visiting sectors that I haven't been to before.
Oh, 33's and 34's farmed 29's. They still will with the new change. Most 34's and 35's I know don't even mess with 29's to begin with. Wouldn't mind one last tweak that took 29's out, but not a deal killer.
The only thing this changes for you, if you are a high level player, is hitting bases so low that you have no business hitting them. What's the phrase... try picking on someone your own size?
most lvl 28 and 29's lvl'd up so fast due to either getting someone to open cargo's or trying to get the raid prizes so they stand a chance against the "seasoned" players...
Yup, it was BI6 that I really regret doing. Won a hull I won't be building for weeks and weeks but ... level 27 only lasted that week.
As it turns out, I needed more then a week for that level to get DU4 etc. in place before turning 29
My advice to anyone who's a higher 20 but will still need time to get a DU4 base: skip the raids, or accept getting leveled by a high lvl player soon as your bubble pops.
The getting hit is OK, tho ... but all the extra time it adds to the much needed upgrades ... that plain s*cks.
I feel Kixeye is not taking into consideration how quickly people level up because of the now monthly events.
Swag was right when he said a 29 should have a full DU4 base, but that's calculated on getting the points without the raids.
So yes, I think the free for all should start at (current) level 30, not 29, but we'll see.
To all the people asking a million question, read the post a few times before asking ur question, its not rocket science, they explained it well and its pretty easy to understand, ****...
I understand the need to 'fan it out' but it seems like a lot of front end pushing which, apparently, causes consternation amongst players. Why not deal with it on the back end where we really wouldn't see it and t would not throw half the people in a tizzy?
Come visit that Dragon_Bane guy over at Battle Pirates on BACON!
At first you realized there was a big difference between a 35 and a 30, a huge difference, and were making it more fair by limiting big players hitting much smaller ones.
How do you figure there is a big difference between lvl 30 and 35? Unless you've spent your lower levels playing salvage pirates then a standard lvl 30 base (and even in many cases a lvl 29 base) has the exact same potential as a lvl 35 base. And the old idea restricted level 36 + players severely which is why they relooked at it.
If you bot learn to read and look at the first post
Look at the 2 bits in red where swag says 40+ is a free for all but lvl's 40-44 can still attack/be attacked by Levels 35-39
Ah. i need eye glasses. i kept reading it "Can be attacked be". never noticed it was attack/be attacked by, LOL
But that makes swag's post not well put. he first said +/-5 rule doesn't apply to 40+, but later said 40-44 can attack 35-39. what he probably meant:
- +/- 5 rule doesn't apply to 40+ players
- a player will always be able to hit a level that can hit him
- second line above over rules first one.
oh well. swag cleared it up. so i guess discussion is over. they just need to reword it.

sounds cool I would say that having faster overall map speed would be great for us to travel 2 sectors away
current distance is 33 mins 40 secs for a HH base hitting fleet to reach the max distance so i don't see people travelling that far without some map speed increase
