I see this as doing very little to promote game balance, actually widening the gap between those who have dreads and those who don't have dreads. Just a thought Kixeye how about some of the things people actually wanted like a more sensible bubble system to deter abuse, or the alliance feature, or wait wait I know give us back the attack fleet button again . Quit giving us crap we don't want and focus on the things we do.

This thread is for the future release of the Tactical lab and people have repeatedly been asked to keep it to that and not keep bringing up things like the bubble system (WOrking on, per Paul ), Alliance Feature (Working on) or the attack button ( NEVER coming back, per Paul and SWAG).
If you don't like the feature proposed then give constructive feedback as to why you don't like it. Don't keep going over the same ground like an old record. With 730 plus posts you KNOW how these forums work by now.

I personally can't wait to try it out. This game has always had a very large "Rock, Paper, Scissors" component when it comes to FvF and I'm hoping this lessens that to a certain extent.
With that many people being against the idea, giving or not constructive feedback and alternative ideas, they will go on with it for sure. As someone pointed out already, just look at any ship in your dock...
Maybe people would like more comunication than just "it's being worked on". All these people might not share the same views as you Rumseeker, but they are just as passionate for this game and have their concerns.
And while we're at it, if the attack button is not coming back, we would like to see the FvF part of the game come back anyways. If the tactical modules are to affect FvF, there should be FvF in the first place, therefor it's very related to the tactical lab release and should be part of this thread.
I know that for you FvF is still there (well, you claim it is), but for many other poeple it is not. I do once in while go in a neighbor sector, attack some salvaging fleets in hopes for some fun PvP. It's true that it doesn't take long for 10 or so fleets to appear around me. But after 1 or max 2 fights all the viewers see my Cudas and then start to "dance" to avoid battle (even if I'm far from the best sub driver), and you know why ? Because of the crazy long repair times. Any games deal with the same : a balance between risk and reward. And in this case, people have to risk very long repair times for what... nothing but bragging rights. And tactical modules won't change that fact.
You might be laughing at the guy who asked for a way to intercept fleets, but forgot to say "working on, per Paul"...
That's the problem right there Goyan.. they can't give an update until they figure out what they are going to do about it.. hence being worked on. Oh sure they can do what you ask.. the technician assigned to work on the problem can STOP what he or she is doing to go over to the PR department and say "Function X, still working on it" then walk back and resume working.. having WASTED time. Or he can continue to work on the problem/suggestion and get it done without the interruption.
I agree we all have our concerns and everyone should be allowed to voice them but to put it bluntly, people don't read the SIMPLE instructions about posting that are on each and every forum. It's simple. Stay on topic. This thread is for the Tactical lab and the Tactical lab only. If people have a concern about anything else, there is a place for it and to keep putting things like that where they do not belong wastes the time of the person reading it and the person that has to either remove or move it.
And thanks for illustrating part of why the attack button was taken away. SUBMARINES. By your own example you bring a fleet of Barracuda Subs to fight with. They are fast, heavy on firepower and ONLY one ship has any built in resistance to them. Prior to BI6 there was NO ship with any resistance to Sub weapons. If yours are anything like mine then you have Engine3, Batt3 and Concussion3's on them as well as 6xHavok4's.. armor is optional. Which means that in battle there are maybe 3 ships that are as fast or faster than a Cuda that is Elite ranked and 2 of those are BI Event ships. One of which only just came out. What does that mean?
It means that for the most part, even if they sink you, they gain no vxp since your fleet is lower level and it means that on average a Cuda fleet can sink 5 or more active fleets before returning home to repair. I watched one Cuda driver run thru 20+ battles one time. Back when we had the attack button around, just about ALL that would troll the sea in response would be Predator sub fleets and that is simply NOT fun. Not when their cost and time to repair is 1/100 of what even half decent surface fleet is.
Let me put it bluntly and plainly to you.. FvF is an end by-product of building ships and putting together Fleets. Much like Crap is an end by-product of eating food. But no cook that anyone wants to be associated with, in his thought process for a good meal is going to wonder, ask or entertain thoughts of how this will affect his clients crap, once eaten.
To correct you, FvF has NOT gone anywhere. People just do not communicate in their given sectors. That is the ONLY thing lacking for FvF. Simply announce that you are going to "X" base and ask for backup. Most times you will get it. You get there, start hitting and 1/2 the time when you emerge there is a full on multi- FvF battle raging since there are spotters on the lookout in all but the most peaceful of sectors.

I personally still think that this is a bad idea. I already have enough stuff to worry about inside of the game without having to worry about some low level player trying to use this tech to gain the upper hand. I think the game is better where it is at right now and you should be focusing your energies on reducing the lag time etc in the game NOT introducing another ship.
I like the idea of a Tactical hull and the Modules....I look forward to using them!
On the Dry dock...how about this...make a lvl 3 upgrade to the ship yard...allowing 2 ships to be worked on at once. The first can be a new build...the second must be a refit at a slower rate or a maximum amount of work that can be done. I understand about the older players and the bullies (who are not the same people) neither group want change that would level the playing field somewhat. Personally, I am building my fleets along lines I think will work. To some people this isn't life and death, it's way more important than that...to me it's a game, I just want to have fun.

I have an awesome idea for a module Swag, well I can't take complete credit I couldn't have come up with the idea without Rumseeker. I figured I might as well look to the future since this is pretty much a done deal. So here is my contribution.
I have one thing to say about this idea. HELL **** NO!!! This game isn't an outer space game. There is no piece of technology available today except for a stratospheric detonation of a nuclear warhead that would cause an EMP burst to accomplish such a thing. Even a stratospheric detonation of a nuclear warhead would only disrupt communications and any high flying aircraft and gps. This stuff is too high tech for Battle Pirates and is a very bad idea.
I think players would rather have a way to increase the building of warships than have this as an update. So please Paul Preece, don't let them put this piece of **** in to this game. Come up with a shipyard 3 that allows us to build or refit more than one ship at a time. This is what the players want.
A tactical Hull is ship that is designed to carry additional weapons, Armor, have greater speed and maneuverability. This would reduce the cargo capacity that the hull would carry.

what gets me is you know of all the problems we are having with glitches and so on and you go and add an other idea .....you dont think this new idea wont have its own glitches and problems that you will have to fix which will only put you further behind in the back log you have in glitches?? and if any of you there can read if only a little WE dont want new ships we want to be able to build ships quicker and repair quicker. couldnt you just put a cap on how long it takes to build a ship no matter what it is maybe 10 days ?? or is that too complicated to think of.....im looking for a job my brains and your ummm yeah well imagine what we could do for this game
Sounds Pretty good of and update for me. I know that my alliance will be pleased to hear about this and it will defently help my low levels in my alliance that I have command over and we are growing and doing well.

Kixeye, I really do believe that this is one update we do not need at this time, I believe it going to further unbalance gameplay as people who already own "God Ships" will use this to make their fleets almost totally invincible. I think almost all of your high level players would much rather see things like the 2 day no damage bubbles every one seems to abuse removed than another hul and more Tech to research. Sorry if I tend to be gruff in my posts I don't mean to be but I am frustrated as I have seen so much so fast being added that it is literally making the game more like another job than a means of entertainment.
I think this is a good addition to the game now are there going to be additional severs to push the game to be better and quicker response with video and physic being done by the on-board graphics cards at the servers level. Or are the video Cards of the ones playing going to have to upgrade their graphics cards to continue to play the game once the game continues to advance. Once it leaps too much more it will lag down some of the slower computers, or lower end laptops. This can be a problem for alot of people that play the games on Facebook. Not only the Battle Pirates but other games as well as they become more advanced and complexed in the graphics,not everyone has a new dell with a 1 gig dedicated video memory laptop. So could you give us like a min system requirement to play the game now and great set-up that would play it. Now I would like to hear it from Kixeye on this one. Thank You>>>

we are long overdue for a lab that sits in the water esp with the nature of this lab, cause it sits in the water and they talk about a possable componet effecting the whole world they could attach it to the lab, or if they want to keep it on a ship so that an enemy can remove this bonus, let a hull equiped with it be put in an active fleet. the bonus would work long as the fleet was out to sea including defending your base. there could be fleetwide effects and word wide as long as it was in a fleet that was considered out to sea.
Want the hull part to have a world effect? then it must be deployed on your base defense fleet, the lab itself super charges the part to turn it into a worldwide effect.
I like the idea I really do, but the player's of this game have requested something more important. We want to refit/build at the same time. We've posted about this for months. You've talked about the alliance feature for over a **** year and added other thing instead. Here's your priority refit/build and the alliance feature this can **** well wait. The games getting dull as hell put your **** in high gear and get the alliance feature DONE FIRST.
I'm trying to let this idea sink in and the more that I think about it the more that I totally hate it.
We don't want magic. This idea destroys all the hard work and/or money the players put in their ships. Whoever is in charge of Kixeye, please give your head a shake. We don't want this, period.
What the priority should be like ALL players are requesting, give us the ability to repair, refit and build new ships AT THE SAME TIME with less time required to build them.
One of the great things about games and movies, they are entitled to take liberties. At the current point I am in this game it has gotten somewhat stagnant. All of my researches are almost completed and soon I will have nothing left to do. I have no more blue prints to find. I hit bases and 90% of the time I am dumping the resources into the sea because my WH's are full and I am either upgrading resource Gens, fortifying buildings, or building a ship that takes anywhere from 9 to 22 days to finish (my hopes are that this is being worked on, not going to broach this subject in this forum). Not really that much going on!! At this point I am ready to try something different. So if this adds a new level to game play then yes I am more than willing to give it a try. I am not ready to condemn something that hasn't been at least tried. After all, I know it's hard to believe but those who make this game are human and make mistakes like we all do. I think it's called Trial and Error!
I think in short the mods are looking for constructive criticism, not destructive or insulting!

A quick heads-up, you will not need to wait much longer to see this feature in action. I will have a video to coincide with the release so everyone will be able to see the applications of the new technology. I hit bases and 90% of the time I am dumping the resources into the sea because my WH's are full and I am either upgrading resource Gens, fortifying buildings, or building a ship that takes anywhere from 9 to 22 days to finish (my hopes are that this is being worked on, not going to broach this subject in this forum). Not really that much going on!! At this point I am ready to try something different. So if this adds a new level to game play then yes I am more than willing to give it a try. I am not ready to condemn something that hasn't been at least tried. After all, I know it's hard to believe but those who make this game are human and make mistakes like we all do. I think it's called Trial and Error!
I think in short the mods are looking for constructive criticism, not destructive or insulting!
