Why Are We Afraid? - A Post on the Banning System
Does anyone else find themselves worried about this banning situation? I have had several friends banned for no apparent or obvious reason, and it really has me worried. I have never hacked, never exploited any glitch in my favor and never "worked the system." But yet, I still find myself worried that I myself may be banned for no reason. Kixeye's "auto-ban" just goes through the system and finds people doing things they shouldn't.
But what if I or anyone else randomly comes across a glitch that they never intended to, and had never seen before. Should they be unfairly banned? And then receive absolutely no reply from Kixeye regarding the nature of their ban?
I do find myself troubled by this entire situation, especially as someone who has invested a good year in this game and does truly enjoy it. I want to play with the satisfaction of knowing if something is off-kilter with my account, and have a fair shot at resolving it. Instead, Kixeye simply bans you with no explanation and no chance to explain yourself. This is not how gaming should work, or how a company should be run. Its time we got some answers from Kixeye.
In the meantime, I thoroughly hope this post will not be deleted because it represents Kixeye unfairly. They have done a wonderful job with so many things. But there are still a few glitches, both in the system and in management that need tweaking.

People that get banned/suspended for glitch exploitation do just that; exploit it. Like the repair glitch, it just happened sometimes due to timing. The ones that got popped for it are the ones that did it every time. Relax there fella, drop the guilty conscience lol
Also, your friends that got banned did so for a reason. I have had several friends get banned and they all ultimately said they hacked or cheated. Maybe your friends won't admit to it.

Is there any chance of making the winners lists more user friendly, updated with name changes and id numbers, what was won and in a separate area in forum. Maybe less mistakes would be made if peeps knew what other players are entitled to exactly.
1: KIXEYE do NOT randomly ban any players.
2: KIXEYE always send an email as to why you have been suspended.
3: If you abuse a glitch, KIXEYE will email and tell you to cease this activity. Some players (like me), dont even know how to use the glitch you are refferring to.
4: I was suspended by KIXEYE for "cheating", this was resolved within 2 weeks and I was completely exonerated and completely reinstated.
5: Never known KIXEYE to delete a sensible post to be honest, only posts that repeat themselves or posts that contain foul language and completely inappropriate content.
In no way have I got my tongue up KIXEYE's rear and I am sure the mods would tell you I can be "irritating" becuase I say it how it is and some people dont appreciate my directness about some of the f**k ups they have done recently. They are trying thier best to sort out the issues everyone has concerns about.

I'd be willing to bet that they are doing this:
Even logging in to start repairs on a friends base is against the rules. It's kinda obvious when player A. is located in CA. and player B. is located in NC. Yet player A's account was used at 10am from a location in CA then just after it gets attacked is logged in from NC.
I know that it was already pointed out, but you may want to edit this.
Imagine if I reversed your two requirements:
There is no reason to be worried as long as you A) share your login credentials with others or
Somewhere out there, some 'internet lawyer' will eventually try to use this as justification for sharing accounts.

Hmm, why bring up the question of being worried if you did not fear it for some reason? I think the author of this thread is worried that that they may be banned due to activity that has yet to be found out.
It may be true now that players are not banned for no reason. However, historically they have been. The original version of the autoban software did not account for the drastic changes in the game and banned quite a few older players. Build times have increased drastically since the game started. I am glad to see that this has been remedied and those players have been reinstated.

No, this isn't always true. (and one of the major annoyances I have had with Blizzard)
I live in Canada and my work has a US IP - so my IP can be from Canada at 10am and then in the US at 10:30am.

swag not trying to be nastu but your talking outa your ring there and you know it aswell ridetill we die was a lvl 34 and becuase of a glitch that your developers missed he got reset to zero now not being funny its not our problem that the system has glitches and if your developers havent found them then you shouldnt have the right to ban people for showing you your weak spots they should be commended for it you dont see activision banning people from call of duty for it do you no they pull there fingers out ther bums and patch that **** so it doesnt become more of an issue
So something is getting a lot of people who claim to be legit banned, and others who are legit temporarily suspended with no explanation as to why in either instance. So.. yes, I figure it's only a matter of time before I get the ax.. and I won't have a clue as to why.
There are also plenty of people who, rather than going about the whole process in a dignified manner, fly off the handle and name call, threaten, etc. THOSE people are far less likely to get the help/attention they might if they played it cool.
If there are people you know, who were banned for "no reason", perhaps they way they handled the situation didn't befit reinstatement. Playing a game is hardly a right, and some tend to forget themselves when they are passionate about things.
As a gamer, playing on multiple platforms and genres, I have seen players handed lifetime bans for cursing in a "family" setting. It is all situational, and you can't expect to be privvy to any or all factors when it comes to these things.
