It has occurred to me the following truths:

(1) It is VERY easy to get resources as long as you can launch fleets. Salvages are everywhere and you can easily net millions with as little as subs, SWs and especially SFB. So the MOST important building in a base is the Dock.
(2) In order to hit a base well you may require a Rocket. So the second most important building 'may' be the Launch Pad.
(3) In order to research and upgrade you need a safe place for some buildings. So there should be a central area for the things you need to protect.

Given these three game truths (as of this date and time) I propose the following base design as being one of the most well thought out designs in the game:

74720_10150635217971572_579231571_9467052_493058814_n.jpg

Features:

(1) First and foremost is the resilience to Pinch Rockets due to the fact that although the towers are clustered there is more than one cluster.
(2) The Dock is heavily protected by every living tower.
(3) There is a central area for the safety of the Launch Pad and a couple Labs
(4) To discourage the wasted effort (and repairs) of hitting your important stuff, the OP and WHs are placed closest to the entry point so that people who waste their time with worthlessness like stealing res from base can be content and not bother to hit your important stuff. After all, OPs and WHs are absolutely useless. You need only level them up and they no longer serve a purpose in the game. It's not like anyone can honestly protect these things...

This base stands to be one of the wisest builds due to the reasonable gauntlet (may be possible to improve it) and the fact that most base hitters will stop after they've knocked out your OP + WHs. With this base design you can nearly gaurantee that you'll not have a destroyed Dock. You can always have a buddy bubble you with 25-50% damage to your base, giving you time to load up a quick 100M in salvaging if you need to begin any really high level researches. Also, with a functional Dock you can always waste the **** that took your loot =)

Many may wish to disagree, but I believe that this game has changed to the extent that protecting WHs is no longer smart, but rather we should be guarding our Docks and any other important buildings necessary to OFFENSE and advancement only. After all, defense is absolutely impossible anyways, lol.
I don't play much anymore =(

Well i hope the same amount of people that copied your old base designs do the same with this one lol But tbh if this is how you feel you need to play the game now... well maybe its just time to quit

I will agree with you on the resource part but no Cerberus Rockets and Flak Guns? And I would possibly move my dock back so that it's safer and less chances of getting hit.

Did you consider that people can just hit this design every 3 hours and make it very difficult for you to accumulate resources? Even if protecting resources isn't an absolute necessity anymore, the outpost is still important due to the relocate function. Theoretically, someone can just hit the design every 3-8 hours to prevent you from relocating. Therefore it also needs to be protected.

Of course, a friend can do a 26% hit and immediately bubble you for 18 hours, but many of us don't play like that.

The Dock is as farm from the gauntlet inside corner as possible to avoid long range attacks there. And it is far enough to be anti-SFB from above.

Perhaps, but only if you intend to use the relocate function.

If you intend to waste res throwing a large BB at my dock (most people don't even use BB by the way) then go ahead. Keep in mind that even the biggest one will only waste 2 hrs of my day and since rockets are unstoppable anyways it is pointless to debate that.

That said, I could turn around and send that same crap right back at you (and even add a little base flattening) just to show you how unwise such an action is.

But most importantly, most people only hit a person's dock if it is: (1) In the way/en route, (2) easy to hit, or (3) owned by someone that is affecting their lives with their fleets. And since none of those reasons would be true there would be no reason someone would waste several hours building a rocket and the res cost just to hit me. Not to mention the fact that most people build Pinches for blitzing and the like.
    I don't play much anymore =(

yea i know but usually uld use a rocket on plats in this case u dont need to , so ild just flick one on his pad or dock just for this design , he thinks people gona take warehouses and retreat asap ????? dont think so isnt the point to annoy or get 1 up on the player your hitting just saying my view on what ild do. btw u say most people dont use bb i disagree

The last 5 people to level my base used Pinch. And before them was almost exclusively Pinch. It seems to be a trend.

That aside, if someone was a big enough **** to deliberately take out my Dock I'd coin it up and sit outside their base with subs and destroy everything they sent out or at least give them enough repairs to **** me out. And I'm not a sub lover.

Then I'd go into their base and Rocket their Dock as well, and SFB the **** out of everything in reach not protected by towers. I'd keep the damage under 25% so I could visit them again in a few hours when they attempt to repair it all. I'd emphasize targets that are upgrading or researching just to slow them down.

Then I'd be a **** and leave 4 SWs inside a fleet with a FF flag or some such so he tries to take it out of the way of my base not realizing he's about to get owned.

I'd do all sorts of trolling and clever things. Of course, I don't have the energy to enjoy the game that much atm, but that is what I'd do. Anyone who hits this base and uses a rocket on the dock is a sad sap that doesn't deserve to breathe. Not because it is evil of them, but because it is wildly unintelligent. Use the rocket on something smart some place else. If you negatively affect yourself (hours to build + res) just to troll someone, you've failed in life as a human being.

just pointing out the flaw in the reason for this design that at the end of the day u actauly lose out all for what to protect research ???? any scrub comes along and whips your res which i know to you is worthless but to the many scrubs its a straight victory and laugh @ you . i do understand where you are coming from in this design but it is contradicting itself

No base is safe or unbeatable. The entire dynamic of the game has changed. If someone decides to level my base over and over. I will do the same to theirs. It is all about numbers game. Soon they will weigh it and realize that they should quit hitting your base because it doesn't do them any good.

first i thought this base sucked and it does but this is the best base for high levels when everything is complete. when your a high level all you need to do is get resources to repair fleets get a rocket and build new ships and getting resources is easy to do so its not a bad base actually nice

i like it, personally id like to keep the op in middle since i relocate fairly often but your concept makes great sense for any high level player who gets resources easily and if anybody ends up faming the wh on a regular basis a well placed fvf fleet as internal gaurd will always make them think twice. Way to think outside the box +1

Contradicting? I think you fail to understand the mechanics of endgame level players. I can loot more in 2 hours of salvaging than I need for any upgrade or research, assuming the salvages I need are nearby. So why the heck would I care about my stash? If I need something I just sail for a couple hours and get it. Done deal. Let the scavengers pick the remains of my WHs for scraps.

That may work for you now, but what happens when the arse you're dealing with is bigger than you? The point of this base is to make it inconvenient for folk to hurt the most important things to you. Since res is no longer important in the endgame there is no point protecting it.

What for? If an attacker comes and takes loot and leaves, none of my goodies are touched. My Dock still launches ships, any research or upgrade I have going continues, etc. I see this as win/win. They get loot, I get to keep playing the game without major hindrances.

fukin lol that quote just there you are trying to say what an attacker would do you have no idea , with your 2 hours of salvage well if u wana do that then some rand takes it in 30 sec good job , i honestly dont think you have thought this through . and what do you class a endgame level player ? seems you like to give up in life instead of stand and fight

Well, for the 75% of ppl that don't really read forums and are casuals (yeah, thats prob about 75% of the player base, amirite?) they may take the res n run. Which your right, its the easy to regain, like 2-3 salbavages.

but for malicious real PVPers I would care less, I grab my res tehn do the rest to test new tactics, or ranges, or just to blow out.

    but like I said 75%>25%

Really? I mean REALLY? its a sad day in battle pirates when someone would build a base like this.. when there are plenty of good designs out there that will keep 90% of the people out...

This is what I say to anyone that needs this base layout... If your getting flattened to the point you need to resort to this... maybe this game isnt for you... actually IM POSITIVE... THIS GAME IS NOT FOR YOU!

I sincerely hope that you posted this in a attempt of to be funny. i mean why go threw the trouble of laying this out... I mean if someone actually feels they need this lay out then they need to just make a square base with all the guns on one side and your op and wh's on the other.. put your dock and anything you want protected by your guns...

Not to mention that players like me could care less where you put the OP and WH"s lol I dont hit bases for res... res is a bonus.. I hit them for fun just to see if i can 100% them. Every time i have said "NOW I HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING" something like this comes up that just FLOORS ME.

where is the pride in saying here is my loot just take it and leave???? Are you ok CURTIS??? because if this post wasnt made in a attempt to be funny im a little worried about ya????? Where is the CURTIS that askes people to come test his base and promises that time will run out before they get to his wh's and op???? WILL THE REAL CURTIS PLEASE STAND UP??????

I often thought of doing this as I found that if I got leveled and lost 28 mill, I could refill my WH's very quickly from salvages (no damage) and i'd have a bubble to keep my researches and upgrades going... BUT!, this idea has to be a joke, I don't mind losing 25-28 mill as I know I will be bubbled and can get it back quickly, but with this idea the attacker could probably take 28 mill, unload, then go back for another 28 mill, if done right and i'm online I will have to repair so they might even be able to get a 3rd visit!, I would feel like a super farm!, research's protected but no res to research...
