We all know the postives and negatives of hitting in sector and not hitting in sector.

I just want to know how many are for hitting in sector and how many are against hitting in sector (regardless of sector rules/policy/code/regulations/tradition etc)

They can still only get 28m res from your base, while you can go around trashing there bases with all your base fleets... I have heard that many times before, us lone-wolfs always comes out on top of the loot game... The joy of an clan all of sudden running around giving each other sissy bubbles, because they don't have the balls to finish what they started. :P

The term of lone-wolfs, doesn't mean we don't have friends or allies around the game, most of us, are called in, to help, as mercs... Meaning if all of sudden hell really starts to fall upon us, we have the backup to go into an real war, but most of our issues we can handle single handed, and we ain't forced into sissy bubbles. :)

    I have to give The M +1

For god sake this is a pirate game only alliances are made with your friends if it's a bunch of random players they hell they are fair game, and when they try to drop the it's a sector rule ask for the rule book and see how they react, I hit insector at will and the only thing stopping me is if They are friends insector but otherwise you have your choice to hit insector and none of those level 34 losers who patrol sector and think they own the sector can't tell you that it's not allowed.

Yes, I put it there because at the moment I do start feeling drifting into the 'dark' side of just wanting to hit everything I can. (but currently still going with the will of the sector).

Well, I like peaceful comms. If you can hit in sector and have peaceful comms (like sector 1), then great.

depends, if you got to a sector with salvage and peace, don't attack insector. but if you got to some sector where people are unfriendly, hit them anyway.

So far been in 'no hit sectors' so strange that there are more who who want to hit than not to at the moment.
I will watch this closely and in couple of days will allow whatever the majority vote for to be the guiding conscience ;)

Wow pirates had a very democratic way of life. It is that democracy that made them so dangerous and motivated.

there is no question.... hit everything in sight... this is battle pirates... KIXEYE is the only one that holds the deed to the sectors and is the only one that can make or set rules for players....

the only rule to this game is "build ships and go out to plunder enemy res" period... end of discussion.

Start with the sector cops first.. they are the most fun to flatten.

    4. None of the above.

I think of sectors sort of like individual nations. Every sector has slightly different ways of doing things. When people from my sector go to visit other sectors, we try to encourage them to represent their home sector well and respect the local rules of their host sector, whatever those rules might be. (Because that is how respect works you see... it's a two-way street, and you get respect by first giving respect.) 90% of visitors we get from other sectors do the same for us.

There is no right or wrong to this in any cosmic sense. It depends on the sector, the people in it, and how they have decided they would like to play the game. For my immediate area, the general consensus has been to draw the line between good guy and bad guy at the sector boundaries, and that is how we and our two neighboring sectors prefer to play. There are other sectors that have several opposing alliance groups that span across the boundaries, and they have to keep track of who's in what alliance and who they can and can't hit. My area keeps it simpler than that.

because people who don't read the forums have weak bases and that's why they want the no hit in sector rule. unfortunately, they're the majority of the BP players..

The poll asked for my personal opinion.

What is generally preferred among forum regulars is not necessarily what's generally preferred among the player population as a whole.

I like the peace of mind of not being at war in my own back yard, and regardless if it is a no hit in sector rule that the players of the sector mutually agree upon, there is always someone who like to cause a problem insector, so ppl pull together to help each other out, It builds a good friendly foundation, if ya need help. I personally don't like to " piss in my own yard" as the saying goes. and the down time traveling to a target out of sector gives me chat time that's why I'm all for no hitting in-sector

We know how it is generally preffered as from most players...No-insec hitting
and you must preffer one of them...you can't just say that they are both the same good

I dont know of a game that allows cheaters or hacks.. So that rule doesnt even need to be written........So you are saying that if they dont post NO HACKING you will hack???? I stated the theme of the game... which is to plunder all enemies no matter what sector they are in... No such thing as a do not hit in sector rule.. KIXEYE has not made this rule. and till they do I hit who I like :)

I don't actually have a preference. I am in a sector that decided early on when it formed that it would be a no-hit sector. And so we are. And so I (try to) defend that along with everyone else in my sector. If my sector had decided to be a free-for-all sector, then I would go with that. It's not up to me by myself, it's up to us as a group.

I also don't think that no-hit sectors automatically mean weak players. We hit and get hit across the boundaries, and the weaker a base is the more it's going to get hit no matter who's doing it. Also, there are always going to be farm players who never talk on comms, who only ever mine, who never change their base, and that's regardless of what kind of sector they're in. Not everyone is playing this game the same way or for the same reasons.

It's entirely possible that the current environment means less enemy hits per player due to more travel time. Because the relocate button crams everyone into the first third of each sector, hitting the majority of people in the next sector does mean farther travel no matter which side of the border you're coming from. So yes, in the last few months maybe it's true that no-hit sectors have weaker bases now. This did not used to be the case though - it used to be that players were spread out across the entire sector. The hard part is getting brand new newbies to not hit the relocate button and make it worse, but to stay where they are so that the population can build up in the empty parts.
