Are you dropping the 48 hour and 5 hit 1 hour bubbles now that lower lvl players can hide fleets inside their bases to defend them. Also, why not just give players more land, walls and 5 more turrets?
There is no longer 'attacking' other player fleets in Battle Pirates, there are only duels. This changes the entire dynamic of the game, and not in a good way imo.
KIXEYE's explanation of their reasoning is odd, to say the least. The way they break down how 'ninjaing' use to work implies they dont know. Do you guys not play your own game?
Any savvy player knows that when coming out of a battle with hostiles trying to ninja you, you back out of battle early, pick a spot to move to when red around your fleet disappears, and be ready to hit the move button. People trying to ninja you were hovering over the attack button. It was more or less a one click action for both people, with slight advantage going to player coming out of battle because he knows within a few seconds when his fleet will be ready to move. That's how it use to work.
Now how it works is person backing out of battle still has the same required click to move as before. But the person trying to hit him has to click on fleet once red is gone, then navigate cursor to the attack button, then hit the attack button. KIXEYE, you talk about adding "skill" to this situation, but what you did was grossly tip the scales of balance towards the person exiting the battle so far that now its impossible to attack a savvy player that does not want his fleet to be hit.
In the sector im currently in, Ive seen a fleet of levi's for the past two days just wandering through my sector, picking off every afk bb or lower fleet of guards or miners he can find, while a parade of sector defenders follow and try futilely to stop him. Im completely stunned that KIXEYE failed to see this inevitability of their decision before they did it, let alone since implementing it into the game.
So yes, now that a player can easily avoid his fleet being attacked at every point in a base raid or miner killing spree, Battle Pirates no longer has "attacking" other fleets in this game. Fleet battles will either occur between one player and an afk fleet, or two consenting players. That is not a direction I had hoped to see the game go in, at all.
+1
That's exactly what I meant in my post, but I think this one is better explained. (English not being my native laguage...)
I'm just curious what people will use their SW fleets for now besides opening salvages? Other than bragging rights, there's really no reason/incentive to sail 10 minutes into another sector just to attack an adversary's fleets.
There's a difference between "cheap" and "totally unable to defend against". Again, the way it was before required ZERO skill and there should be a small amount of skill involved.
This is a bit silly. You're totally able to defend yourself. You're forced to design your baser flt to be able to defend a flt attack. There are numerous ways to do that. Also not a wise business move. How many people end up coining their repair after getting caught coming out of a base and getting the baser wiped out?
It's still possible to ambush players, you just have to be really quick.

Level 30,Sector 388----forum name same as game name---- less confusion that way.
Been sitting here reading all the nonsense before I jumped to the end... there were ways to get away without being ambushed coming out, with out using the whole 2 screen method... For instance, before the map button became available for bases, you could refresh in the proper amount of time before that battle ended that way you could be outside waiting to tell your fleet to move. I personally miss the challenge of trying to get away and the anticipation of being hit coming out of a base. As for being unable to defend yourself coming out... there are ways and tactics to keep you losing your entire fleet to the ambush. Having the attack button isnt a sure way to ambush players, so return some of the fun to the game and bring it back.

Why does someone need to refresh the game(effectively restarting it) and use an out of game mechanic(as the refresh button on the browser is not in the game environment to avoid taking damage?
Now that said, I'm sure KIXEYE could have thought of a better way to help avoid fighting, but maybe not circumvent it entirely. Quickest thing I can think of(and I don't know how easy to implement) would be to center the attacker's map over the battle they just left and remove the post-battle screen entirely, or for those that might want it, add an option to disable it.
With the new update we introduced Spectator Mode. The new mode replaced the Attack button that was visible when a player clicked on a fleet that was attacking a base. This method was being used to ambush, or ninja, a fleet immediately after it attacked a base.
This method of hovering over the attack button while a player is attacking a base has been removed because it requires zero skill. A player that has finished attacking a base has to wait for the world map to load and close out the battle report screen, while a player attempting to ninja only had to click once to attack. There was no defense against it and required no skill to accomplish.
Players are still welcome to attempt to ambush a player after a base attack, but now the player that was attacking the base will have a fighting chance to escape. In fact we even encourage players to try to ambush other players to see how wicked fast you can be and show off your skillz.
On the one hand, you say "a player attempting to ninja only had to click once to attack. There was no defense against it and required no skill to accomplish."
On the other, you say "In fact we even encourage players to try to ambush other players to see how wicked fast you can be and show off your skillz."
Another way of putting this would be to say that simply keeping base-hitting fleets moving, and therefore immune from attack, can be described as something for which there is "no defense against it and required no skill to accomplish".
If KIXEYE's position is that base-hitters should essentially not be attackable, then kindly let us know. Between high-level buddy bubbles and the many glitches in obtaining siege weapon blueprints before the streakbreaker, there doesn't seem to be much reason for anybody other than the top 2000-5000 players who already have raid hulls and siege weapons to continue in the game, since they won't really be able to attack (much less successfully attack) higher level bases or fleets.
Don't focus on protecting your sector, it's not called Nanny Pirates, and there's a reason for that, start focusing on attacking other sector, paying them back, avenging your flattened mates. Battle is on!
hard to avenge when they refuse to fix the bubble pirate disaster of this game. big deal, now they ned 5 gunboat visits instead of 4. lmao in disgust
I thought this was a PIRATE game! How many PIRATES have you heard of that fight fair? Sneaky "ninja" tactics are what PIRATES do. Is Kixeye is trying to make this more of a "Pirateville" (this is called an oxymoron)?
+100 and everyone should understand this and stop crying about when they are hit in sector
now its easier for someone to just attack all lower level fleets sitting out without worrying about some1 there own level helping out. Let the bullying begin! Not cool!

i undestand not being able to get people coming out of base. Now people are living in bubbles and just going around hitting lower level miners in sector and nothing anyone can do because they use 2 browsers or leave batlle right before end to escape. This is going to cause alot of lowers to stop playing because they cant mine anymore. I dont mine and im level 31 so im good, but would like to have someone to play game with in a couple months. Should be different rules when attacking bases and attacking miners.
SOSA SECTOR 50 LEVEL 77 SECTORS VISITED - TOO MANY TO REMEMBER AT MY AGE--- HULLS WON-I HAVE THEM ALL
It doesn't matter how fast you are. YOU CAN NOT SELECT A FLEET THAT IS HIDING UNDER THE BASE AFTER THEY BUBBLE IT. Therefore you cant attack a person coming out of a base if they position their ships right. If there is a salvage ship near them you cant select them either. Lately I thought I need to stop playing this game so much and I want to thank you Kixeye for making it easier to do just that.
Would you cann it. Your a pokey with 3 posts. And your complaining about dreads. LOL!!
If they dont give out dreads you will be just fine little dude. Now go back to your BYM and leave the pirating to the pirates

I believe you summed up the basic problem for 99% of application makers. You think because you "play" you understand the game dynamics, but there is a large degree of things you don't understand.
1) How many times have you tried to Ninja someone?
2) What is your percentage rate when you try and Ninja someone?
3) Now your saying we shouldn't be able to Ninja our enemies while they salvage either?
4) Basically you gave everyone a free **** pass to "Salvage", "Hit Bases", but you don't have to build 1 "FVF" fleet because Kixeye is so arrogant we don't understand what we did.
5) There are ways to make it harder for someone to hit you coming out of a base or salvaging
6) Now you made it so "Miner" hitters can see what weapons are on ships so they can take 0 damage and LMFAO
7) You took out part of the Social Aspect of the game where you hunt as a sector or group so you can't be ninja'd
8) You took out part of the game where the "Sector" can not help to teach people if you hit in this area you take the risk of being destroyed. This being another part of the social game.
Your statement reads like something Zynga would say when they make changes after something has been in place for such a long time. The main difference is you don't have the "masses" and losing people does make a difference. There is a difference between playing and interacting. I will say Avatard is nice guy and he does interact with people. Perhaps if more people from Kixeye actually talked to the players in that respect it would go a long way into letting you see the smaller details.
I guess from my personal experience with application makers this brings back the bad taste of what Zynga did with MW and and PotC. That is why I stopped playing those games and why others did the same. You may not see it, but it becomes a subtle part of the game we love. I hope you put more people into the gaming atmosphere to interact with people. It goes a long way to giving people trust that you do understand what the majority of players want.

Granted I never liked getting jumped after coming out of a base, But this takes zero skill as well now.. pretty much made it possible always to get away. .. ALSO one one good thing about the Ninja scenario is it caused LOTS of fun PVP battles which really will not happen as much since there is no real need to for backup when attacking a base.. I don't use "backup" myself, but I gotta admit it did cause some of the most fun I have had on BP.. fighting off attackers and their friends.. So I say bring it back and let people have some fun. ( and this is coming from someone who HATES sector police and people who troll looking for bases to defend lol ) so take it for what it is worth..

Ok listen up Kixeye and players it has always been possible to avoid being caught coming out of any battle since day 1.It was just a matter of knowing how and no it's not by cheating or hacking either. All a player does is exit the battle a few seconds b4 it ends and click on the water beside your fleet and repeatedly click move here button same as the snipers trying to catch him hit the attack button to try catching him. This has been used since the i started by players and both sides had equal chance of success and as for coming out of a base battle you are in simply refresh before time is up in base and instead of rejoining the battle click the fleet and then do the same click beside your fleet in battle and repeatedly click move here. With this update the person in battle can still do this and escape every time and no matter how fast you are you will never catch him period.
Bwhahaha you should have really even made that comment. You used to be the worst of the worst at jumping people with your subs.I think the attack button should be brought back.I can usually get away after base hit anyway.

Can we get some clarification on what is KIXEYE's view and plans about whether base-hitting fleets should be attackable, like with a fleet intercept feature: http://forums.kixeye.com/threads/193504-Fleet-intercept ?
