nice idee would be great ad to the game removing those friendly bubbles. tho i would make an option then for other players to stand guard at ure base. this in turn will help the playing togheter on bp and bring more tactic to the game. if your small and get bully'd you can get help from bigger player to stand guard at ure base. just a tip.
Why not just make it that when you are Bubbled..... attacking another player's ships or base will nullify your protective bubble leaving you open to attack again.
I really don't even care anymore about friendly bubbles. It was allowed to go on so long that the game is completely corrupted because of it and changing the rules now can't fix that. I just accept that I was an idiot for trying to play within the spirit of the game while others were growing faster and stronger without ever worrying about losing resources they stole from legitimate players and then scurrying back into the hole they crawled out of or about having upgrades and researches stopped and set back like the rest of us who weren't/aren't afraid to take a hit. **** me and my integrity - that and $4 will get me a cup of coffee at Starbucks. There is a guy in the next sector to us that is a bubble buddy, he hits our miners and bases etc and has a friend out of our reach in the next sector to bubble him as soon as he's done or anyone comes close. He's lvl 33 and drives us nuts as we don't bubble each other. Clearly he abuses the system.
I however nailed his returning fleet today by ambushing that fleet from under his base. I'm not for changing the bubble system unless something is done about the freakishly long repair/upgrade times etc. Having a fleet inside a base is just more bookkeeping, will probably lag and may not be effective. If the bubble system is changed my alliance will be all over a lot of ppl. We'll hit ppl constantly to get the upper hand. Once you nuke their docks and harass them with repeated base hits we'll rule. I don't think anyone will want to play the game much once my alliance (and other's like it) ruin everyone else's game.
Yes the bubble system is corrupt but like I've said b4, randomize and reduce the bubble times for a ten hit bubble. It'll make coordinating bubbles more difficult.

There are currently several ways that a players base can get temporary Damage Protection (a bubble over the base). Two of the ways that you can get Damage Protection is if your base is attacked 4 times in one hour, or 10 times within 24 hours. Unfortunately, players repeatedly bubbling each other are abusing this system.
We will be removing the rules of Damage Protection for when a base is attacked 4 times in one hour, or 10 times within 24 hours. Bases will only receive Damage Protection if it has received a certain percentage of damage to the buildings within a certain period of time.
This change will take effect in conjunction with the new Base Patrol Fleet Feature, which should help to prevent any of the possible negative effects of removing these damage protection rules.

If youare going to disolve this feature then you need to do something to help the players out.My suggestion,upgrade time,research and repair time is freakin insane.Playing this game should'nt feel like a second fulltime job.Taking this feature away hurts everyone,i can see the abuse but if you didnt have 10 days upgrade time and 10 days research time then peopel wouldnt need to abuse that.I can see 5 day research and upgrade time,but come on 14 days to build a ship.This has to stop somewhere we have lives outside this game to,and i know im not the only player that feels this way.So allim asking is come to some sort of compromise,get rid of the bubble feature,give us shorter build,upgrade and research time.
Majority of ppl aren't abusing bubby bubbles because there afraid there upgrades will be destroyed there hiding inside buddy bubbles so they can either run there mouth in comms thinking there safe, attack ppl then get buddy bubbles or simply utilize buddy bubbles because they don't want to be attacked this is a WAR GAME don't like then gtfo.
You know there is a real simple way to deal with the problem of buddy bubbling. Another game employed a similar system and I had actually forgotten about it until now.
Make it so that in any 48 hour period a person may only hit another person 3 times. After that they are denied hitting them again. Unless they attack the person back. Make it so that it takes 2 people hitting a person 6 times in an hour to erect a simple one hour bubble. After the 1 hour bubble it requires actual damage to inflict a longer bubble.
Also in so far as people coming in and "Rocketing Docks and Researches" in harrassment attacks. Make it so that a rocket cannot be used until there is at least 5-10% damage on the base, per attack.
Although a simpler fix for the rocket problem would be to have an update much like the one for turrets but make it for research buildings, Docks, Warehouses and that is they have 1 slot for an upgrade. Could be armor or could be for a Electronic Countermeasures suite that would either reduce the targetting of the rocket and thereby reduce it's effectiveness by having it go slightly off target. Say reduce it by up to 50% at a level 3. This would satisfy the rocket users as well as the whiners who complain about getting their docks etc rocketed.

That has to be about one of the MOST ignorant things I have seen posted in a while.
It's not just people that are 30+ that are raising the alarm about buddy bubbles but it's low and mid levels as well. I can't count the number of times that I have seen a level 25-28 go out, hit a miner or hit a base that is below them and even before they are back to their base they are getting bubbled by one of their friends. Not because they had inbound attackers but because it was what they knew to do. So I grew to despise buddy bubblers for this reason and I'd bookmark them and wait. Knowing that it only takes a small window for their buddies to get sloppy in their timing.
As for us not knowing what it's like for 25 - 28.. that is plain stupid. We came up thru the ranks just like everyone else. We were 25-28 just like everyone else. Some got farmed, some did not. That goes more to the sector and the alliance or lack thereof that you hook up with. But heres the thing. If you don't like our sector then there is this nifty button it's called relocate. Make some friends, find out about their sector and jump. Don't like it, wait the 7 days and do it again. You DON'T have to stay.

And once your base is ripped to no res and your dock and rgs need repairs, what then? game over... no ability to produce res in your base and no ability to launch res gathering fleets means you are done.

have to admit that buddy bubble is gone but man i am being hit 6 times in 2 hrs and don't bubble after totally destroyed. has happened twice now, dont really mind being hit but after so much damage after a few hits they can come back with fresh fleet. was this really setup to be hit by 3 fleets now?

I agree with you that it's annoying to have people constantly bubbling themselves but I think this is getting out of hand. Base patrol fleet... this is ridiculous. Why not screw that idea and make it to where if 2 plats are destroyed you get 10 hour bubble( in 4 attacks) and 6 plats destroyed in 24 hours(in 10 attacks) give you 48 hour bubble. That solves it. Plus the Base patrol fleet is either A. gonna be useless. or B. be overpowering. or C. just pointless. Get rid of that idea and just make it to where you can put 2 specials on lvl 4 platforms. Solves everything. Makes base a little stronger and yet not so strong that you can't get in. Cause you still haven't fixed how crappy bombarders are.
PS: the reason KIXEYE is getting rid of bubby bubbles is because they are loosing money over it. They put in the option to buy bubbles to make money. But since people use the 48 hour free bubbles they don't money for having it and to speed up their research/upgrades. So KIXEYE is fixing that. They want money. Get rid of free bubble. Make it to where people can now destroy upgrades with rockets easier. Push back research/upgrade time, the player gets frustrated over that then spends some cash to finish it cause hes tired of waiting. Just obvious. Their Moto is a lie. "We don't make games to make money, we make money to make games" nahhh... more like "We don't games to make money, we make updates/patches to make money"
Sorry kixeye, your just loosing all my faith in you. I haven't seen anything yet that proves your moto. The revenge raids, the base invaders, and these new blueprints that have a super low percent to find one part... It's obvious you want more money. Why not just say it, instead of making a white lie about it. Oh and lets not forget how you increased the time and resources it takes to repair your ships now. That's an obvious one. My seawolf setup was a 5 min repair, now it's a 8 min repair. My base killer was 10 hr repair now it's a 14 hour repair. The cost of the repair for it destroyed was 2-3 mill, now it's 10+ mill..... Freaking awesome. I see your subtle updates in the game that's making things slightly more costly so you hope that players will spend more money. Richer get richer and the poorer get poorer.

In the past 3 months there have been so many people complaining about the "buddy bubble" system then there have been people asking to keep it the same, KIXEYE is giving it's public what the majority of it asked for. AWESOME!!!
This is not an accurate statement. I would put good money up that says the "MAJORITY" are asking to keep the bubble.
I have read 1/2 way thru the posts as of this comment and a few things are very apparent, for one, the higher lvl player's are the only ones that are enthusiastic about the change and even a lot of them are skeptical. Another thing that is obvious from reading the post is that the consensus of a lot of people will quit and even the new player will quit once the get to a point where it becomes nearly impossible for them to grow.
No Matter what system you implement there will always be people looking to take advantage of it, ways to get around it, and abusing it. I would say IMHO that you should keep the bubbles as they are but maybe add the cool down period between "friendly" bubbles.
This compromise would make both side would keep both sides happy for the most part. The big dogs that are whining about people "living" in a bubble and being "comm warriors" yet hiding behind bubble would be able to seek their revenge during cool down periods. The base re-designers would have the opportunity to do so during periods they can have a protection bubble and the whiners that just want to live in a bubble 24/7 would still have some time they can be under a bubble but be at risk other times.
I might add that say a 24 hr cool down would allow a bubble 4 out of every 6 days ( 2 on and 1 off) to be bubbled. I think it would be win / win rather then a win on one side and a loss on the other.
it needs changing take this player for example as soon as shes out of a base attack her m8's put bubble up instantly it rarely comes down however there needs to be some way of countering trolls who will just keep hitting labs and the dock
ah well bubble buddys will just rearrange their base so that they will get 25 % damage in an easy way.
and yes its very strange that kixeye changed repair costs and time without telling.

The bubble system was incorporated to keep players from being harassed. The bubble buddies turned the bubble system on its head and are now using it to abuse other players. If you remove the bubble system however, then anyone can be hit repeatedly, soon, only the biggest most aggressive players will be left and no one else will ever be able to catch up.
If you leave the bubble system the way it is, bubble buddies can hit with impunity and can advance beyond everyone else. The only way to counter this is to become a bubble buddy yourself, this bogs down the game into a mexican standoff.
KIXEYE proposes removing the bubbles but giving defending bases an extra fleet inside the base to fight off attackers. This concept has several flaws, the most glaring being it does not solve the problem of adequately defending your base while you are offline. Everyone knows that unless you are there to guide the guard fleet no current KIXEYE AI is going to defeat a skilled attacker. In fact, if the AI is buffed to defeat attacking fleets, in all likely hood it will be impossible to attack any base. Additionally, the base fleet idea may add unneeded complexity, further bogging down the game.
We need a simply solution that works. How about scrapping the bubble system, all of it, and simplifying it? Give every one a bubble after they get hit one time, but for only 2 hours. If more than 40% of the base is destroyed (at any time) allow everyone 48 hours to recoup, rebuild or redesign. Allow all docks and rocket launchers to be repaired in 1 hour (or less for the lower lvls). Keep everything else as it is, scrap the base fleet idea.
In the worse case scenario of a nuked dock and rocket launcher you can coin the repairs for a small fee. Or just wait 1 hour. If u are being hit repeatedly, and u are online, u can always come out of the bubble swinging.
The real problem of removing the current bubble system entire is that , potentially, victims of a hit base are out of action for extended periods with no chance to rebuild, redesign or redeploy without getting wacked b4 they are allowed to retaliate. The current system (without becoming a bubble buddy) allows no one a chance to hit back b4 getting wacked again.
With only a 2 hour bubble or paying the penalty of 40% base destruction to get a 2 day bubble, everyone can hide behind a bubble, but not so long as make themselves invulnerable (not without wacking themselves as hard as anyone might).
It's about time!! Nothing irks me more than lvl 28+ players hiding under a bubble..go to next sector for a raiding party (very fun!!) then run home & bubble each other. Play the game or QUIT!!
