Sounds great.... Fairfight not a problem: keep it the same,,, player can only hit another base within 5 or 6 below or above... keep pvp open. You should open up the chat: sector chat,,world chat,,,alliance chat. Max amount of player for an alliance.
The Host should be the leader, with a few lieutenants. The Leader should be able to adjust there control of the lieutenants. Maybe at certain lvl you should allow second bases or even allow bases to be taken over (ur host base to be protected or one of your choosing).

what about if the sides that go to war can be nocked out, as in each side enters a war with so many bases (alliance) and if your base is 100% destroyed then your out! last base standing their alliance is the winner or mabey a race to 100 points every base destroyed is a point first alliance to 100 wins somthing like that???

o.O:worried: Is that even legal???? :p

I'm sure it's been stated before as i didn't bother to read 30 pages lol... but the alliances should be set up democratically, members should be able to vote if they are going to go into a war, and for a new leader if they so choose... Nobody would like to be just thrown into a war without having a say as to what is gonna happen.

Again, too much book keeping. I've played a lot of these MMOG's and alliance "systems" screw the game every single time. Always, ALWAYS, the game becomes more about politics then it does about playing the game. Eventually just logging into the game is hell.
Alliance structures in BP now are the most sound I've ever seen in this type of game simply because there are no "formal" alliance structures. Players only stay in an alliance based on mutual trust and need.
No one can be high handed and ruin the alliance just because he can click an alliance icon and piss ppl off. Anyone can attack who ever or not attack. No alliance leader can screw the whole game by clicking an icon.

For the longest "they" didn't want to make an alliance system or have anything to do with players being able to be in formal groups, in sector hitting was looked upon as very bad. This alliance system they wanna incorporate only means that they are trying to find some way to further shunt out the lonewolfs and the non-coiners out there, by making them even more obsolete. Giving these alliances special weapons and tech or whatnot. Whatever happened to the Salvage events, then the base events, from my understanding the drac bases were being constructed, hmm so I guess they gave up on completing their bases and bringing the fight to the forsaken. KIXEYE get it together and think about something other than how to get at the dumb and weak-minded wallet. If this is implemented into game then im sure this game will slowly die losing the best players. Only want to satisfy a open mouth instead to fix the problems thats in game, you don't ban hackers once they are reported, the awful glitching when you start a battle you cant even get into it so you gotta refresh and take damage, come to think of it this is probably Kixeye hacking so you either have to coin repair or wait again. How can you keep implanting you things and you cant even balance out the game lol what a joke, I've spent a reasonable (not a dumb amount) on FB games, but i'll NEVER spend a cent on BP.

How about this, it is done where the in game alliance system just identifies those in the alliance. Doesn't stop you from attacking ppl, just puts a warning that "this guy is in your alliance are you sure you want to attack him". Make it so you can leave whenever you want and if you want to join an alliance there are at-least 3 people who can invite people into the alliance. No power up's, no special weapons, just if your alliance is at war with another then you they are orange. Those in your alliance are green and everyone else is normal. Keep it simple.

I reread the suggestion, I tried to be open minded, tried to be fair, and tried to look at the positive. I can't. I freaking hate this idea, just freaking HATE it.

An enhanced Alliance system is being developed to provide greater incentives for teamwork and organized combat. Alliances will have the ability to set "postures" between one another ranging from Allied to War. Here we will describe the current plan for "War":

An Alliance can choose to instigate a war with one other Alliance once per week. War is a mutual posture meaning that both Alliances are set at "War" with each other when war is declared. The target Alliance has no chance to avoid War although they can sue for peace after it has started. Only the Alliance Leader has control over setting Alliance postures and starting a War.

While an Alliance can start only one War per week they can be the target of other Alliance Wars and so could be participating in multiple Wars.

    • Now is the time to suggest ideas to extend the Alliance War feature! We are particularly interested in feedback around the following:
    • War bonuses: special bonuses that are generated from combat between warring Alliances.
    • Victory Conditions: what factors are used to declare a winner.
    • Fair Fights: how to stop large powerful Alliances picking on much lower Alliances.

using the same system your put in place to allow multiplayer attacking of bases, you should institute into multiplayer combat PvP and give additional Veterancy Points to ships involved in combats involving 3 or more. Alliance members get a boost to their war , as well as do neutral defenders of sectors who join combats as well. It would be a whole new level to tactics with multiple fleets coming in from multiple angles. it would be like adding the Spell Compendium to a D&D campaign. (some one there knows exactly what im talking about) :)~

Also to make it fair , you get the Retreat option as you use in a base attack, after they have been in the combat 5 Minutes (as that is the maximum time of a normal 1v1 combat).

To determine between large and small alliances, simply get the average score. Divide by number of players in each alliance.

things like damage done experience gained and resources exchanged should all factor through the process of determining a winner instead of one basse system for calculation of win and lose. this is due to cheaters cc users and differences in levels amungst alliance members

these things should be arranged and developed through fruition, to bring major groups of these alliances together to meet on a level playing field. keep it organized or things dont work right in alliance wars

    • Fair Fights: how to stop large powerful Alliances picking on much lower Alliances.

The decision to Wage War is costly on the high seas. Any alliance that wants to be available for "WAR" needs to put up collateral "resources" 5-10 million per alliance member to be eligible.

List the alliance name and how many people they have registered to fight.
Then allow the alliances registered leader to send a Battle Invite to opposing squads. opposing squad can accept or decline "based on numbers"
Once a Battle Invite is "accepted" Relocate the 2 teams into "mini-sectors"
Give the 2 leaders a "surrender" button - If a leader hits surrender all collateral resources are forfeited to the victor.
Otherwise the 2 teams fight until all the collateral resources from one side has been captured by the opposing team. either by invading opposing bases or sinking opposing fleets.
Standard battle rules would apply but add in an "empty fleet value" equal to the cargo capacity of said fleet to score fvf battles.

Once one team wins or surrenders both teams are relocated back to the sector they were in when they registered for "war".

Swag, this has been asked in previous posts but never answered. How are you going to determine who is an alliance leader? Are you going to have a system that will implement the current alliances into the game or are you going to start from scratch and determine the leaders based on their level in the game? I think the level of the player would be the best suggestion as many players over level 30 have obviously played an extremely long time to get to that point, and I would say that many, if not all of them know the game better than anyone else. This is the best suggestion that I can offer as many people in the game belong to more than one alliance and if you don't separate that, you're just asking for whining and complaining about spies and unfair attacks and all the cowardice actions that goes along with it. Base it on game level, for example make a list of the highest players and depending upon how many alliances are allowed into the game work your way down in level basing it on how many points have been accumulated. But please, separate the coiners from the non-coiners, as this can lead to unfair game play against others and there are some coiners who have no idea of how to actually play the game, which could be of a disadvantage, but on the other hand it could be an unfair advantage to them as they could constantly coin and keep hitting over and over again making the game less fun for the lower players. You should also implement some sort of strategy to where the alliances have tier systems of rankings making sure that the one alliance leader doesn't use his/her power to justify his/her actions without thought to the other alliance members.

I think it should be like any other game "Create a clan" The person who made the clan can either "Be the Leader" or promote a member "To be Leader". Would make it simple. The Option to make a clan should be in the Greathall.

    Create Clan
    Clan Name:
    Create Rank system:

    *after it's created*

Add Member: Name: (include the player ID)

There should also be an option for those in your clan to view their bases (Instead of spectator mode) That way you can look at their base get an idea and maybe help them with theirs. Way better then having "Spectator mode" That way it'd be ok if a whole Clan had the same base design.

Remove Member: (Name and player ID)

Clan Logo/Emblem: (Make something creative that will have a flag outside your base stick up and show your emblem so everyone knows what clan your from)

Those that have been added/invited only have the option to "Spectate a clan members base," They can not add or remove someone unless their Ranking that they have allows it.

This wouldn't be hard to implement into the game it'd just take time.

IMHO, we should start out with something simple first to get the system going. Start off with the alliance admin system and then just have alliance 4v4 FvF battles first.

Once that's setup and stable, introduce base attack wars with options like first to smash 5 enemy bases for more than 80% damage.

Just a few ideas, Im sure have been mentioned already:
    With the watching battles:
Have an option where the attack can decide who watches the attack - like have a button on the side somewhere where if someone requests to watch the fight then the attacker has to accept it first

    With Alliances:
Have an option where each player of the alliance can guard another alliance base with a max of 2 fleets. Only have it where alliance members can protect alliance bases
Have an option where alliance members can protect resource mines being farmed by smaller alliance members and same with guarding other members fleets of your alliance
Remove the function where you can attack an alliance member - this will get rid of these friendly bubbles
Have an alliance chat so alliances can plan attacks without the rest of the sector seeing what is being said - this will also reduce how many people are talking on the main sector chat at one time - therefore should reduce lagging, and any other problems connected with to many people talking at once on the main sector chat.

I hope Kixeye take our thoughts to heart and puts some of them into play - as we are the ones who are playing this game and most of us are the ones spending large amounts of money on this game

i like the idea of being able to trade resources to alliance members, we do it anyway except we do it thru base attacks on eachother which also gives bubbles. If resources trading between alliance members was implemented it would keep us from giving bubbles to eachothers when giving out resources and it would make it alot easier and quicker.
    Happy player

I think that kixeye should be thinking on the problems that alliance have right now, them create new upgrades!
I only say this becouse they say always they are aware of the problem, but the bug is there...
i have 1 player waiting 2 months... and me 2 days... so if this upgrad comes with similars problems, they suck!
its not the idea, but how it works....
    thanks and sorry for something

That is a bad idea in my opinion, as you could have a 13 year old kid creating a clan and being the leader of an alliance when they have absolutely no idea of how to do things, let alone probably cant add friends on facebook, so yes this would not work, as anyone can create a clan but how many can actually properly run an alliance? This should be a screening type process to make sure that the leaders are extremely knowledgeable about the game.

That has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I am a level 32, and I created SSD. However, I have some level 35's that are in the clan and they are not leaders, or Officers. Yet with what you are suggesting, they would be made the leaders. That is sooo stupid. That would make people leaders of a clan, that dont want to be leaders.. lol

Should just be able to click on the persons name in chat and have an option to add to the clan.. Let Officers, and Leaders have that option.

Would also be nice to have a "Veteran" Rank available to give to members who have been in the clan for a long time.

"Copy Base Design" would be a nice addition.. and it would automatically re-arrange your base to copy theirs. But if you have different turrets, it just places them randomly and you can re-arrange them to where you want them.
