For example when you declare war on another alliance. There should be a score page divided into 2 columns, with the wins and losses showing on both sides.
Offensively:
OP I/II/III/IV/V = 4/8/12/16/20 points
Each Warehouse = 5 points
Defensively:
Successfully defending a base attack without losing any OP/WHs = 1 point
Every attacking ship sunk = 1 point
i think that its very important that the defending player get points for a good defence. Giving them 1 point every time the enemy enters their base without taking warehouses, gives them credit if the enemy needs to use multiple base attacks to prep.
On the other hand it also provides an incentive for attacking players to get through with the minimum number of attacks, and discourages practices such as dock and research trolling. At the same time you don't want the penalty to be too high so as to discourage base attacks. 1 point seems like a good number.
Likewise fleet battles should also score points, albeit less than base attacks. I propose a 4 tier system of scoring base on the hull class sunk.
Lightweight (Gunboat, Longboat, Predator Sub, Marauder, Battle Barge) each sunk = 1 point
Middleweight (Battle cruiser, Stalker submarine, Sea wolf, Leviathon, Sea Scorpion) each sunk = 2 points
Heavyweight (Battleship, Floating fortress, Hammerhead A/B/C) each sunk = 3 points
Super heavyweight (Dreadnought) each sunk = 4 points
The key point here is to balance it so that spamming wave after wave of instant repair subs does not become overpowered, while at the same time if a smaller guy does manage to take down a large hull then they are rewarded accordingly.
Both teams should have arbitrary point "goals", set out at the beginning of the war, which must be achieved in order to gain victory.
Fair Fights
Alliances should level up based on their alliance victories, much like an experience system. Like say 10 alliance wins to reach rank II. 25 alliance wins to reach rank III etc etc.
In order to keep things fair between bigger and smaller alliances the point goals should be based on the alliances rank.
For example:
Rank I alliance requires 1000 points in order to declare victory
Rank II alliance requires 1200 points in order to declare victory
War bonuses
I think that alliances should be rewarded based on both their alliance rank and their alliance loyalty.
Alliance Rank
I would like to see alliances rewarded with battle pirates credits when their alliance levels up. The amount would be scaled of course based on the rank.
Rank I --> Rank II = 20 credits to all alliance members.
Rank II --> Rank III = 50 credits to all alliance members. etc
It would provide a real incentive, and fire up a LOT of wars.
It might seem like a lot of credits. But when you consider most alliances will only have 1 war going per week, then it seems very reasonable.
Alliance Loyalty
To ensure that alliance members are rewarded for their individual contributions to the alliance wars, i think they should be given loyalty points, whenever they score for their alliance.
During alliance wars:
Fleet V Fleet victory = 1 point
Base attack victory = 5 points
As players accrue more and more loyalty points, they should be able to unlock new ship skins, paint jobs, flags etc. This would be a great way to designate different ranking members of alliances. Something to show off, without tipping the game balance. Obviously if they change alliances then their loyalty points should be reset back to 0.
Feel free to PM me Swag if you want to talk in more detail. I have a lot of ideas.
Cheers

Now is the time to suggest ideas to extend the Alliance War feature! We are particularly interested in feedback around the following:
War bonuses: special bonuses that are generated from combat between warring Alliances.
Victory Conditions: what factors are used to declare a winner.
Fair Fights: how to stop large powerful Alliances picking on much lower Alliances.
Suggestions:
War Bonuses: If these are bonuses gained purely in the battle modes between alliances, then I propose the following:
Team fights - similar to attacking drac bases, we should be able to engage up to 4 fighters per alliance into a battle with another alliance IFF those alliances are at war (the number 4 is arbitrary)
Allies can defend each other's bases they way they'd defend their own
Allies can observe each other's battle logs but ONLY see a list of people they've been involved with if those people are members of the enemy alliance
Victory Conditions: I propose 'medals' or 'win packages' for a variety of things:
Most damage done to enemy alliance fleets or most ships sunk
Most damage done to enemy alliance WHs/OP or most res looted
Most time spent in damage protection ('winning' this would be bad - like a demerit)
Fair Fights: In the same way that players have a +-5 level of base attack, I propose that alliances be given levels based on internal player strength and that there be a +- limit on attacking between alliances. Options for this include:
Number of players --> +-10 players
Experience earned --> +- (equivalent of 5 levels * 1/4 number of members of smallest alliance)
Weaker alliance can deny war but stronger one cannot (strength determined by average level of player with a minimum level of 20 - so there is no weakling stacking to bring strength down)

I wanna see the spectator feature where you see the names above fleets like in Base Invaders 2 if you are spectating and a box showing all the spectators (should also include attacker/defender if they are watching)

look up the game SOCIAL WARS on face book kixeye they have something like wat you are sugesting you may get some ideas from them...you can ad a button that shows alliances and has multiple features like "create own alliance" or "join exsisting alliances" and also a button for start wars or something of the sort since u want to have alliances to start wars against each other....
i myself like it just the way it is because my allaince doesnt like to have alot of attenntion
Sectors traveled- 8~39~47~59~79~102~103~104~105~106~107~108~167~205~208~210~ 211~212~266~344~352~366~409~433~442~444 ~473~to be continued
also u can add something like a daily bonous for being in an alliance such as a small /large boost of exp per day (ex:50 exp-1000) or a random boost of resource ..... as for wining a war u could make prizes such as a mix of all the kinds of res or only 1 type and give a medium or large boost in it or exp (ex: 1000-100000 exp or res .... if this isnt reasonable amount it can be changed)
Sectors traveled- 8~39~47~59~79~102~103~104~105~106~107~108~167~205~208~210~ 211~212~266~344~352~366~409~433~442~444 ~473~to be continued
Score points per player in the alliance, so that larger alliances can't gang up and claim victory based on numbers, nor can they say hey, we are allied with these guys so their points count too. So if one alliance has 20 and the other has 50, fine, let them declare war, but only the top 20 scores count. So many points for fleets killed, based on type fleet, ff, hh, sw, etc....so many points for bases defensed, meaning they get 50 percent damage or less then base is defended. Something like that. Points for bases taken, 51 to 75 percent and points for bases crushed, 76 to 100 percent. This also prevents someone from going in and dropping 5 bb's to prior to taking a base because while they do take the base, they also get 4 losses because they did less than 50 percent damage when they entered the base to drop their rocket.
I think that they are all great ideas and this will be a great feature to add into the game. I have played other games in the past that have had alliance war features. One of the best that I have seen is that the winning side in the war gets a set amount of XP points for the alliance and also each player in the registered alliance gets XP for their overall rank for winning a war. The XP amount was fairly high so you had something to play for.
Other features you may include are that you get double XP for every base you hit that is in the opposing alliance that you are at war with?
Victory should be on amount plundered and destroyed points, the combination of the 2 totaled up. You could also have specific alliance challenges so that an alliance can work towards specific goals aside from the wars and these would all be based around team work. Each alliance then gets ranked on both to help create an overall rank to answer that age old question "who is the best alliance".
Another thing you should factor in is alliance average points per player. Its great to do an overall combined score so we know who is the biggest in the game, but there will be smaller but very strong alliances that will have high points per player. This keeps there interest in this also.
Just some thoughts on how this could work, talk about them or trash them up...just wanted to input

One thing I forgot to mention is the war colours. Alliances sometimes dont all have the TAG in their name and for this to work each alliance leader would register his players in the alliance. Once a war has been agreed each player on the opposing alliance's name's in game change to red so you know of all who are in the opposing alliance. This then goes back to white once the war is over. Same thing if you are allied with an alliance their names change to Green.

after reading all the posts on alliances, why arent they just simple? all this war stuff, rewards, etc are not necessary. We war enough on our on, we know who our enemies are and so on.
A simple thing like letting our "own" alliances be shown in game has gotten way out of hand.
This is akin to when you brought in all the specials, you made the game so much more complicated, older players were punished and set back 3 months for each special update, while newer players built and credit card players had an advantage and grew with them in place.
We dont want whining in the chat or to be forced to battle in sector. Put a flag on our ships and have a place to register our alliances and let it be done, we'll handle the battles.
KISS, keep it simple stupid.
An enhanced Alliance system is being developed to provide greater incentives for teamwork and organized combat. Alliances will have the ability to set "postures" between one another ranging from Allied to War. Here we will describe the current plan for "War":
Due to the limitations on COMMS, all members of an alliance have to be in the same sector. Some sectors prefer to act is a single team and are more interested in sector vs sector combat.
Is the alliance system designed to disrupt these sectors? That could be an undesirable side-effect.
You really need to allow both modes of play -- alliance vs alliance within a sector, for those sectors that want to operate that way, and sector vs sector for those that prefer that sort of game.
Other features you may include are that you get double XP for every base you hit that is in the opposing alliance that you are at war with?
Give me a good reason why I would want to gain more XP? As far as I can see, moving to a new level is a BAD THING in this game.
My player level doesn't affect may ability to do anything in the game. Everytime I gain a level, it's a bad thing, because now I'm subject to attack by a new group of higher level players.
The level system in this game is not a good design and overall the game does NOT provide a level playing field where you can face an opponent on mostly equal terms.
Not sure if i mentioned it..my internet has been down a few days...
BUT can we have an "Alliance Tagging" system..where by alliance leaders can determine who has there alliance tags...currently TL1 has a scurge of players faking our tags...and even our names It would be nice to somehow own our reputation.
An armada battle mode would be really cool, similar to what we saw in base invaders events, where 4 fleets can work together on the same team against an enemy, but with this have 4 fleets vs 4 fleets, i guess there'd have to be a way to organize it so not just anyone can wander in like placing "armada buoys" on the map where all fleets have to converge before the fight will start or a new option when clicking on another players fleet saying " join armada", the controller of the fleet being joined would be in control of the armada on the map screen until it is full and engages battle with another full armada, and players with a fleet in an armada can opt out at any time on the map screen by clicking the fleet again and selecting a relevant option. When a battle starts, players with fleets in the armada can simply click join battle as seen in base invaders and will then take control of their fleet for the battle.

Now you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty floral bonnet: I will end you.
There should be no bonuses that make large alliances even stronger.
A leaderboard should be set up with a restriction on how many places below or above you alliance position you can declare war on. This would protect small new and weaker alliances from the big strong alliances.
Points for leaderboard can only be earnt during a declaration of war and should be based on OP killed and points won should reflect the level of the OP killed and the level of the attacker. ie you kill the OP of a base 5 levels lower you get 1 point, same level 6 points and if the defeated base is 5 levels higher then 11 points. this would ensure a level 20 in an alliance can earn just as many points for his alliance as a lvl 30.
Some indication next to the bases of the top 3 alliance should be the only reward mabe make the top alliance bases gold.
There should be no restriction on the number of members in an alliance or you will get a few 10 CC only player alliances at the top, maybe give points to encourage bigger more level spread alliances, alliances is and will be more the method to help people level up and learn the game, so its vital to encourage alliances to spread their experience rather than encouaraguing them to become a closed group of only the strongest players.

i would second this with the proviso that it is only allowable to players in the alliance fighting players in another alliance
Victory Conditions: what factors are used to declare a winner. could try a damage counter witch is set by lvl and number in alliance
Fair Fights: how to stop large powerful Alliances picking on much lower Alliances. Average lvl and number in alliance giveing alliance a rank with a 5 up and 5 down system
i like theofficer system with tiers that have different privlages
1 leader
2 vice leaders
4 comanders
8 officers figuring most alliances will have roughly 100 total pirates
each alliance should get a special emblem to show its alliance
cannot attack members of same alliance
possibly have alliance comm
should be able to make peace and war status with other alliances
should also have ability to transfer resources among members
I hope this doesnt turn into a "Arena" style fight like WOW brought on....

100 vs 5 or 30 vs 60, what difference does it make.
if 2 people were able to destroy 20 people, or 10 people destroy 5 people, good.
they shouldn't be opening their mouth saying how fabulous they are.
If you have a community who likes to travel around or "Alliance" whatever you want to call it, then they should be willing to accept and challenge whoever they want.
I hope the "pick your best 5 and lets go" doesn't get involved.
An Alliance of 100 shouldn't be able to call out a alliance of 30, but vise versa can happen.
if 30 people are confident they can roll over 100, then let them. Will make people think twice about why they are joining an "alliance" to begin with.
BP Alliance: - PNLS - Dunno bout us? Well ask your Mom, she will fill ya in.
1 for rules of engagement there should be an equal or with in a range of 5 up or down of members declaring war with again roughly same amount of lvls
2) bonuses should be varied for either base hitting amount of damage caused to the attacker and bonus to the attacked if he sinks the attacking flt and flt 2 flt victory bounus to the victor
3) victory conditions should be determined when either one side sue,s for peace or runs from the battle ie relocates
4) there should only be one aliance in a sector to declare war other wise one or the other could call in outside help
If we are going to be stuck with this gangsta war idea it should cost the participants res and or credits to declare war. Wars cost $$$$ and not just for repairs and equipment.
