wow. This is great. Though i have 3 Floating fortresses now at lvl 27, I AM GOING TO UTILIZE THIS! Once i have a lot of FF's and SW's, this is going to be the best
You can currently deploy a fleet outside of your base to defend it. While this can be helpful in defending your base, we feel that players should also have the ability to have a fleet to defend inside of the base as well.
We will be implementing a feature that allows players to deploy a single fleet within their base that will attack invading fleets. Players will be able to set an attack radius of the fleet to customize how far away a fleet will travel to engage enemy ships. This gives players the ability to prevent the patrolling fleet from being kited (lured) away from the base.
If a player is present when their base is being attacked by an enemy fleet, the player will be free to control the patrolling ships how they see fit.
Seriously? One of the dumbest ideas I've seen on here. How bout fix the dozens upon dozens of other issues before implementing such nonsense.

I love the idea. I think it would make a prep fleet much more important, and the game as a whole much more realistic. I do believe though that the defending fleet must not add to the hit points of the base. In other words, destroying a base fleet should not bubble a base, nor even take it to 1% damaged.
Nope the defending fleet should count as damage percentage, nothing crazy but definitely some.

I think your doing something wrong when attacking bases
if they put limitations on the patrol fleets this could be a good thing with all the drac tech and sfb3's and all but if it is going to be a normal fleet like what you would send out then i think that would be to much. the game would be unbalanced. getting into bases would be almost impossible to get into bases

I don't like this idea much. The people my level are hard enough to get into, this will make it not worth the effort. I guess I'll have to go back to hitting bases that have no chance of keeping me out.
Since the UNF breakup, I am assuming your guys have fallen far behind. Attacking bases has become very simple given the correct builds and versatility of different fleets. As it stands NO base is safe, none. Giving us a new wrinkle is JUST what BP needs right now to keep it interesting.
If your having a hard time getting into bases now, then obviously you haven't gotten fleet builds figured out yet and this new feature will undoubtedly cause you more problems, but making the statement "people my level are hard enough to get into", well Lysan this is why you maybe should have spent more time paying attention to fleet builds and less time "playing" with your subs and not joining the majority of the UNF in TS etc... But that isn't what this thread is about, it's about how you and your failing friends "thought" they knew it all... have fun.

Yup your so right it's unbalancing the game more didn't you unbalance the game enuff with the big Drac ship who ever has them are pretty much can't be stoped with the right guns on them your really starting to take the fun out of this game : (
all this is theory yet.lets see update and fight it out see where it goes.none of us knows how this will work out.but its been this way since hb3 lol.that is why ive made it a year here.
Though I think this is a game changer of sorts, I still think it could be manageable. Lets see what comes out of it before bashing it. In the end most likely we will just have to have at least 2 fleets to take a base. But who knows...there is potential here though.
I like the idle here, but. With all these new base buffs, and now the fleet. Raiders will not be able to get into a half way good base. Need a 6th ship, or raise max weight so we can put on more of the bigger guns and armor. Alot of ppl play and love this game because of the raiding side. If you make bases unbeatable, or not worth the efort to lv. Ppl will walk away from the game. Removeing the 5 hits and you bubble is a start. But still, the repair bills and down time won't be worth the efort. Hope Kixeye thinks about all this, and makes it so ither fleets can take more damage, or less repairs are needed.

And how is this really any different than putting a fleet outside? Base hitters will just send in a prep fleet to clear the fleet inside then retreat, just like they do now with clearing outside defenders. Even if you put them in the center of the base, they can easily be kited from the outside.
Yes, and with no bubble any more they can take 15 hits to do it.

ok i like the idea of it but any chance of limiting to a forsaken fleet only type of deal? i don;t want to walk into a base that has long range dread fleet taken out my main hammer head fleet before it even reaches the first turret.
about time, but instead of just being online, make it where we can have it off line too. have it where we can position the ships around inside the base to help hit those that are kiting our WHs and resources.

Not if your base fleet is less than 25% of your base damage points. That is if they even count towards damage. Though I am guessing they will because of how the drac outposts were.
i think it is bad idea and see when this is put into play going ahead and taking my loses i have spent on the game and recycling everything to find another game to play i can kiss that grand or better i have spent over the last yr good bye and they can kiss any future money good bye as well cause i wont be here and everyone that thinks it is great will change there toon when they hit a base and cannot get into them anymore it great for your farmville players that do not attack bases

Not likely. People have asked this question about a dozen times.
If they do make the patrolling fleet a part of the damage towards a bubble, then that will just be silly. The fleets in Base Invaders was one thing, and this is another. It should just be considered a PVP battle and nothing else.
Is this instead of loosing the 500% rule ? Or if this takes the same time to get here were in for a long wait. Also think about the fleet in base I'm not gonna use a SFB fleet as most base fleets have RA3 LOL

This will not make things more even, it will make the balance of power greater! Why?
The stronger players bases will be even harder to hit for lower level players or even same level players, and the stronger players will drop down a level or 2 to make sure they hit a base they can take. So for example you 'll see even less lvl 30's hitting each other, almost no lvl 28's hitting a lvl 30, and more of a lvl 30 hitting lvl 25 and 26's.
Come on guys with the new bubble rules, this will just take some prep work like the turrets do. Dont be a bunch of whiners and just learn new strats. Dont limet the fleets that can guard and dont nerf them, make the attacker figure out strategy and this will make the game alot funner.
