Predator Submarine Armor Adjustment

    Whoever said you shouldn't be able to use subs in FvF are you ok? You realize that the only things havoc's can kill are things in water. I guess you could use stalkers but who builds them anyways!

    The subs themselves are still powerful, it's just that getting hit will be more inconvenient. Lowbies with low engines aren't gonna be able to chain smash 9's without some half way decent skill involved. It's a long overdue update, I like it.

    once again. Kixeye screws the non-coiners. we needed these subs to help protect against these major players that attack our fleets while we are off line or our bases and now you make it where we cant extract revenge on them.

    The Predator Submarines currently have a base armor value of 80. This means that if Predators are not equipped with any additional armor and have small flagship, they can instant repair. After several months of seeing how the Predator is being used in combat, we feel that they should not be able to instant repair.

    We will be buffing the base armor value of Predator Submarines to ensure that no fleet combination of “4 Predators + a small flagship” will allow for an instant repair time.

    even the sub at 10k base armor, i will just repair them to one armor point and launch them

    Ok while you are at fixing the predator subs lets do some adjustments to the stalkers. Like let us put all torps on them... that would be fun

    Yet, the subs have very little effect on SW's. Again, the lower levels will have very little chance to get decent salvages without begging.

    woooot woooot now were talking swaggy baby. it was getting to be pretty uncool getting hit over and over by same fleet i had just killed 10 times b4... i must say YAY hehehehe.. but they will just hit repair and 1 sec later cancel out and bring them out anyway

    I love the idea. But i would propose cutting down the repair times on the bigger fleets.

    For example, during base invaders when repair time is half, i'm very willing to spend a few bucks to repair my fleets and keep playing.

    But with normal repair times, i find it too expensive so i just repair one at a time while i'm away from the computer.

    Since cutting repair times in half doesn't actually cost you anything, would you consider looking @ the numbers and maybe seeing if it might even make you money? The best thing about my idea is everyone wins, players who don't pay get faster repairs, players who pay get a break and have more incentive to pay, you guys win by increased revenue, not to mention with shorter repair times you'll have people spending more time playing.

    Im gonna build multiple sub fleets and use them soley for killing higher levels since thier whinging had this changed.

    P.s I only ever used my subs to salvage until this day

    I dont really like this because even though i am a 27 i have that fleet thats instant repair, i use it to get salvages and its true that you have to be an idiot to die on salvages.

    I find when I die on salvages its usually lag that gets me. Occasionally I get too impatient but 9/10 times its lag :(

    I have the fastest connection available in my area and have no difference between hard wired or wifi

    i like instant repair for subs because i use them to kill salves.it already takes way to long to repair,research and upgrade things.this will only make someone like myself leave the game because there is to much wait times with no action to take.

    My vote is 'leave it be as it currently is'. Someone else mentioned having the use of a variety of ships in the game..change this and you take away a main function of the subs. As it is players above a certain level hardly use subs, so really by doing this you are just making lower level players more unable to get back at fleets leveling their bases.

    For those complaining about low level players sinking mining fleets..make it so that subs can't attack player mining fleets..problem solved.

    really....why? is it bcuz ppl are complaining about it....come on man gimme a break if they dont like it tell them to go play farmville....wow its an easy way to get blueprints...considering you guys made it **** near immpossible to even find in the first place....if u change the armor then it would take over a year to get anything cool....who comes up with these ideas..i mean seriously....it is perfectly fine the way it is now....dont ruin it plz i have a lot of money invested in this game i dont want it to be a waste....

    i only use subs on salvs so this kind of sucks, but on the other hand i rarely get hit by salvs. so i guess this wont change to much for me :)

    I find this to be a mistake. Smaller players have no other means to fight back against larger players fleets. You can't expect a lvl 24 to be able to stand up to a lvl 32 when s/he decides to flatten the smaller player's fleets because that person feels like it. The big complainers here are the large level bullies that don't like it when a lower level has a chance to actually fight back. And using subs against someone that has good fleets and is several levels above you takes skill, so not everyone can do it. But it should be left a real option and instant fix makes it one for those smaller players.

    I am on the verge of being a fairly larger player (almost lvl 30) so it's not as if instant fix helps me anymore then the next larger level player when it comes to having smaller guys that can sink my larger fleets. But I think they should have that chance against me...Otherwise how could they hope to fight back?

    All this is going to do in the end is limit the growth and staying power of newer players. And that will mean less new players staying with the game in the end. I think that is a mistake that will cost this game later on. Kixeye is getting too greedy, and will end up cutting their own throats soon enough if they are not careful. I've seen many games die this way, I hope this doesn't end up one of them. But without newer players continually in the game, the game will shrivel and die.

    Just my opinion, and I'm sure several people will try to tear it apart.

    Frodo Ninefingers - you deserve to be annoyed - I loved sinking all the Sector 468 Leviathan fleets so very much, It's a darn shame you guys kept sending them to me empty. I still use my subs to sink fleets every day, but I try to find full ones now. :D

    Yes, it wasn't long before you got Seawolf fleets with Thud HB's and got all puffed up on yourself when you could finally sink a sub.
    That's just the point: my submarines help drive other players to buy ever more powerful fleets from Kixeye.

    It's too bad that Kixeye thinks that players who want to play the game with simple, powerful, beautiful boats, and are not in a hurry to buy all the extra Gee-Gaws have to be handicapped against the Mega Fleet buyers.

    Still it gives me a warm feeling to know we are such a threat.

    So is it still instant repair time if we have a ff or hh as the flagship? As you currently state that a combination of 4 preds and a "small" flagship won't be instant repaired.

    Alright i understand the logic behind this i use to always instant repair the subs without any armor and i know many other players did this but i'm guessing this may effect some players salvaging but it's ok with me now since i have SFB 3.

    Shhh, they might adjust and ban them too. LOL

    YES!

    About time they fixed this. Was tired of seeing 28+ people abusing subs. Low level players were not the issue. It was always the ones that constantly abused the sub that made it the problem it is and forced the fix.

    now maybe I will be able to attack a base without hitting 10 sub fleets... all being the same 2 fleets over and over again.... only get to hit bases when the owner is not on line..... LOL

    agree... repair times for other fleets are excesive but thats ok we can use subs to take down salvs as a way to get resources and finding blueprints if u kill the predator then u do something to help us getting blueprints and rez beacause any other way will just take too longo a lot of peolpe will stop playing

    I just made it to lvl 28 and just started research on SW's, why am I so far behind at my lvl? Getting farmed every other day tends to put a hold on upgrades. My preds have been my main fleet for sals and defense. I don't know where everybody is getting they are so dangerous, SW's **** out of the water all the time. I have eng2/havoc4, and it is no great threat to SW's or any fleet that has the same eng. So those who are whining are the ones who haven't put a better eng in thier fleet. Instead of so-called instant repair, how about the constant flow of pornographic language, glitches, psychotic hackers getting fixed and removed? I spend money on this game like a lot of people do, and yet the people I report never get removed, booted or anything. But crybaby lvl 30's get to stomp on lvl 25 bases all they want now. The bubbles are gone, preds will be nuetered and lots of people will quit. Kixeye needs to focus on something more important than feeding the crybaby bullies that like to kill everything in their sector.
