this is going to be great! BTW could you remove the names from the ships and dont add them to this new mode they get in the way as we are trying to rotate the ships in battle to save the life of an almost dead ship and put another out in front to take damage.but i got a feeling this will be crazy good

Noooo... I don't want ppl looking in my base unless I get to shoot at them... it will make getting info on a base way to easy... and in fleet battles I don't want someone seeing my tactics or weapons like in base invaders

I quit this game, it's complete crap, don't try to convince me to play again cause I recycled EVERYTHING to make sure I don't go back.

It would be nice if the base attacker could toggle this on/off. If he doesn't want people watching, then they can't watch. The downside is no bragging rights. If he wants the bragging rights, then the attacker turns it on, allowing all to view his victory.

i donot like this mainly because anyone can then see your base when its being attacked, so the advantage of how your base is layed out is gone

i like the idea, but i also think anyone can then see your base when its being attacked, so the advantage of how your base is layed out is gone....

i prefer the idea that you can only view what your friends fleets and bases are doing, that way you have abit more of a chance, with how your base is layed out and how your fleets are armed.

    Just my take on things.......

this is one im not sure about.. its bad enough that ppl make youtube videos showing off things to be carbon copied and done again and again.. this prevents anyone from learning anything new and keeping it to themselves.. i mean if you want to know what he has in his fleet and how they are killing.. engage them.. and see for yourself.. thats great for kixeye to have this ability for their monitoring of any kind but to give to this to all i think would make the game go backwards.. just my 2 cents.. were talking 2013 stuff anyways if were still playing then.

I don't know how I feel about this change. Unless you give permission for a player to spectate and that's the only person that can view. But for just anyone to view, no. To the innovator's in tactics, ship designs and base designs, this would blow. Why force their tactics from them to anyone that chooses to watch?

While I like the spectator idea I really don't like the announcement idea as it could kill the sneak attack. Kixeye please don't screw this one up too!

It only tells if something in your approximate gets attacked...they could do the range really short like 10 or 20 miles

    4) Allow anything that is innovative to be coined by the entire sector
    5) Allow for the entire sector to know what ships someone has in their fleet to bring the appropriate countermeasure

This is a cool idea but seems like it should be more tied to your other idea for alliance wars.

The lone wolfs want to stay as low key as possible when farming but in the Alliance wars players will want glory.

Some ppl will hate having battle shown in com and some would love it. Just makes sense to me that it would go hand and hand with the Alliance war idea.

sounds so much fun seeing how other people use their fleets instead of having to describe tactics - could have been so handy months ago when I was teaching people how to use their subs lol now they'd just have to watch awesome

Sounds like a great way to learn tactics without getting damage yourself. Will there be a limit to how many players can view a battle? Will viewers degrade the quality of gameplay? If viewers downgrade the flow of gameplay, I don't want it. I can and will continue to make videos on my own. I love the idea though. Good job Kixeye.

I think that it should not be implemented unless the battlers can see who is watching them. If people are going to steal my tactics, at least make them show their faces.

I like the idea, but I would like to have a say in who is able to watch my battles. I know that there wouldn't be much difference in someone attacking me and taking a screen shot or passing on the details word of mouth to those who might want to attack me as well, but I'd like for my would-be attackers to have to put at least a scout fleet on the line and let me know they are gunning for me, rather than just watch as someone else does it. I really don't want every fight I'm in to be broadcast live to my entire sector and especially not to the neighboring sectors without me having an option to allow or deny it.

Filling the comms up with notices of battles might get a little ridiculous some days too. It might be better to have a second tab on the comms where all the battle notices go.

why not put a feature that lets you, if you are not online, view the battle that took place on your base????

There is currently no way for a 3rd party to view a battle in progress.

We will be implementing a feature that allows any player to view a “Fleet VS Fleet” or “Fleet VS Base” battle. Any player can use the mouse to click on a battle and view the battle as a spectator only (cannot participate in battle). Spectators will not be able to view submerged submarines.

There will also a feature that announces when battles are taking place near your base in the Comm (chat window). This feature can be easily disabled if you do not want to receive battle notifications.

As Battle Pirates is a Massively Multiplayer Online game, we feel this will greatly enhance the effect of being an open-world game. The game has a strong emphasis on competition, so it only makes sense to grant anyone the ability to view players competing with each other.

So now ppl that your at war with will know what type of builds you have, whats in your flts also means it ll be easier to jump ppl leaving bases if there viewing how much time is left in the attack, and now its even easier for multiple ppl to screenshot ppls bases with the possibility of ripping your design off/flt designs off and tactics.
    You can't imitate perfection.

If this is implemented, it should only be done in conjunction with Alliances. Therefore, you can only view battles your alliance is in, not just any random battle. Otherwise, I could just view my enemy's battles and get screan shots and battle tactics while he's being hit by JoeSmoe from the next sector over, or vice versa!
